Our new year's resolution is to get a BFP!

I fell off the December bus today after a 34 day cycle. AF turned up this afternoon. I will be ovulating on Christmas Day by the looks of things! Hoping this means I can enjoy mulled wine etc this Christmas.

So here we go again.

I am officially CD2 after implant removal! Defo didn't expect it to come this quick was hoping to ovulate mid Jan but now it will be the beginning 🙄

I'm getting really confused so will be interested in people's thoughts. TMI though 😬

I'm now on CD17 (usually 27-30 day cycle) and the apps predicted ovulation a couple of days ago. I've started using OPKs this cycle and I've been testing for over a week now and still negative. CM was just ...meh...nothing much really. Today, I've tested negative again and I've got creamy CM. I looked it up and this normally means ovulation has happened. Wtf? Has it really? Do I have some sort of undercover stealth egg?!?!

Peaky1 - How often have you been doing the OPKs? If only one a day, it's possible you missed the hormone surge.

@JingleAllTheQuack I've been testing mainly at lunchtimes (using cheapies, boots own AND clear blue digital like a total weirdo 😂) and over the past 3 or 4 days I've tested when I've got home from work too. I tried one CB digital this morning first thing and still negative. I feel like I'm hunting a mythical beast or something 🙄

Peaky1 Hmm, that's strange! I heard once that OPKs don't work for everyone (i.e. some people's peak hormone level still isn't high enough to detect), but I don't know if that's true...

Oh good lord, I've been OPKing whilst sick and I've just realised that I've been doing it first thing in the morning... Not in the afternoon like you're supposed to.

This cycle is DOOMED.

@Peaky1 creamy CM can occurs both before and after O. Have you been measuring BBT?

Tonight it's really hit me that I didn't get my bfp this month. I'm just coming off my period now.
I really got it into my head that I'd have a wonderful BFP for Xmas. I had all these thoughts of sharing the news at new year. Happily glowing in a Christmassy jumper, merrily turning down Prosecco.
Oh god I just feel so sad.
It's been 5 cycles now.

@Beautyandthe I'm so sorry you didn't get your BFP this month. I'm not surprised you feel the way you do.
This is a new cycle now, new opportunity for a BFP and actually how GREAT would it be to potentially kick off dreary January with some great news? Treat yourself to some great soft cheese and a large mulled gin x

So sorry to hear that Beautyandthe I'm also on cycle 5 and I know exactly what you mean, I build myself up like that as well, get all these ideas in my head and then the disappointment of reality is extra crushing.

Sorry to hear about the BFNs and periods arriving. I agree that it's just that much more hurtful at this time of year because it all centres around family. I hope that by you all relaxing and enjoying the time creates all those happy vibes that all help with fertility.

I haven't been measuring temp. Only just getting my head around OPKs! Haha

I have previously used the online cheaper ovulation sticks and have detected LH clearly. Usually can see it on the sticks for 24hrs. LH usually around CD14-16.
This month I tried clearblue digi. Been testing since CD10. Solid circle as expected. However, today is CD14 and I was anticipating flashing smile but it has jumped straight to static smile!
Any ideas why it would skip the static ‘high’ fertility? Is this a case of it being my first use and I’ve not bonded with it enough yet .

I appreciate any tips x

Ps: reading previous posts- no one ever tells you it can be this difficult or emotional!

Gone are the days of believing one missed pill would result in fertilisation!

We struggle to dtd regularly and my last two cycles have been long, 59 and 40 days. The previous 6 were 29-32 so hoping they might go back to normal. I got positive opks in the long cycles but assuming I didn't actually ovulate. Very confusing but my blood and partners sperm tests normal

That should say opk. But I actually just got my static smiley...The earliest ever and haven't even dtd this week yet 🤦‍♀️!

I’m 39, TTC #2, CD1 and this will be our 2nd cycle of “properly” trying (we have sort of been trying for 9 months but have started using Preseed, OPK etc this time.

@Muddypaws12 I get the same on the OPKs - straight to static, no flashing 🤷🏼‍♀️
I'm also interested to know if there's a reason...

I’ve just tested on a cheapie opk and that is +ve for LH. I’ve looked on the clearblue website and it says some women have sudden increase in both hormones at similar times so it skips high and goes straight to peak. Glad I started testing early as I’d have missed it! Still, makes DTD easier as Ibwas thinking O was Xmas day when I’ve a house full of people .

Any seats left on the bus? Just got off the December bus two stops early! Ovulating on 5th January

I'm glad I'm not the only one going straight to solid! My next ov is landing on the day I've got my 1st acupuncture so hoping that's a good thing!

Hope you are well. I am surprised your in-laws are so bold, mine seem completely disinterested in grandchildren to the point that I worry that they may not really like me...or my DH!
I hope acupuncture works, my BF found that reflexology helped her to conceive and she is 5 months along now. I think I will SMEP and preseed this month along with a major post Christmas diet and then next month try some alternative options. The cramping I have had all month has me worried about endometriosis though so I might see a doctor if I can get an appointment.

@Soexciting maybe your in-laws are just more considerate!
Mines have always gone on about grand kids. I think it's a bit rude. But it's annoyed me more since we started trying.

Def see the dr, there's no harm in going along!
