Our new year's resolution is to get a BFP!

I fell off the December bus today after a 34 day cycle. AF turned up this afternoon. I will be ovulating on Christmas Day by the looks of things! Hoping this means I can enjoy mulled wine etc this Christmas.

So here we go again.

@edwardsmellytitty it means big fat positive (pregnancy test)

PaintingOwls · 09/01/2019 17:48

Sorry Paddypaws91 I didn't mean to rain on your parade! I realize I was very blunt, FX for you nonetheless.

I am 15DPO, tested negative and have a headache. Don't think I'm getting that miracle BFP from one BD like @crossfitgirl did GrinSad

Is CM in the TWW a normal thing? Not EW bit creamy/thick (sorry tmi 😂)
I don't tend to ever get EWCM.

Wondering if this is a late ovulation thing or something!

(Classic TWW paranoia 🙄)

HJWT · 09/01/2019 19:44

@bunhead34 iv noticed a very small amount to tbh!!

But my MOOD tonight OMG my DH has had me laughing my head of but then as soon as I stop back to really low mood!!

Newbie21 · 09/01/2019 20:40

@bunhead34 I googled "discharge after ovulation" last night for that very reason and apparently the creamy think discharge is normal post ovulation discharge or what they call "non-fertile" but you can get it whether pregnant or not so not a sign either way. How many DPOs are you?

Paddypaws91 · 09/01/2019 20:53

@PaintingOwls I thought what you said was helpful tbh, I didn't think of that myself but that is probably why I'm late.

I got another BPN and I'm 16dpo so thats me out.

Sorry about your BFN and your headache (snap), here's to the next cycle. Immediate plan of action for now is a nice hot bath and a little glass of vino Wine hope you're having a nice chilled evening x

SadieSue29 · 09/01/2019 20:59

Hi

Negative test here, no period yet but not feeling pregnant either so think I am out :(

Paddypaws91 · 09/01/2019 21:18

Sorry to hear that @SadieSue29 Sad It's so disappointing isn't it. how many dpo are you? Are you definitely out?

SadieSue29 · 09/01/2019 21:27

Thanks paddy paws. 13days.

Ok about it, OH is away all of January with work, so that's us off the bus for a while I think.

Nocoffeenotalkie · 09/01/2019 21:51

@bunhead34
For the last 3 days (I am 12dpo) I have had back ache and AF like pains as well as quite a bit of discharge - sometimes watery sometime creamy. I think I am out. AGAIN not sure why at this point I even get my hopes up 🙄

Nocoffeenotalkie · 09/01/2019 21:59

10dpo not 12! I can't even count now 🤦

sparkleandsunshine · 09/01/2019 22:04

Can someone please give me an idiots guide (or link) to how these threads work? I came off my pill in November, started trying 13th December and came on on Saturday.

I understand BFP and BFN

TTC: is this a ref to if I have children already or if this is my first? If so then #2
CD: no clue on this one
Cycle: I’m guessing I’ll be on number two when I’m good to go again?

I’d love some help please 😊 it took me 7 months to get there with my first and I didn’t use mumsnet then. TIA x

Paddypaws91 · 09/01/2019 22:19

Welcome @sparkleandsunshine Smile

Here's a link to the Mumsnet acronyms which may help: www.mumsnet.com/info/acronyms

CD is your cycle day, do you use any apps to keep track of your cycle?

sparkleandsunshine · 09/01/2019 22:37

Thank you @Paddypaws91 thats brilliant ta, I don’t use one, do you have a recommendation for one that you think is good?

Paddypaws91 · 10/01/2019 07:49

@sparkleandsunshine I use Flo which has always worked well for me x

kaytee87 · 10/01/2019 08:11

@sparkleandsunshine I use 'Period tracker', this is my first month trying for my second dc. I've also used clear blue ovulation monitor. Im 2 days post ovulation now so just keeping my fingers crossed for another week or so until I can test.

PaintingOwls · 10/01/2019 08:32

@sparkleandsunshine

I've used WomanLog for years and recently got Fertility Friend.

bunhead34 · 10/01/2019 08:35

@Nocoffeenotalkie oh no, fingers crossed. You never know.
What cycle are you on? I'm cycle 7 and not really getting my hopes up now, feel a bit defeated actually.

@Newbie21 thanks for that! I'm
Only 3dpo, but thought maybe ov was happening later than I thought or something!

@HJWT how many days dpo are you? Any other symptoms?

kaytee87 · 10/01/2019 17:16

So I'm planning to go for a few work drinks on 19th which would be 11 days dpo. I wasn't planning to test until 14 days dpo and certainly with my first I just carried on as normal until my period was late and I had a positive pregnancy test. I don't drink regularly but would most likely have enough to make me tipsy on the 19th so feel a bit torn as to if I should test early just in case or carry on as normal until end of my 2 ww.
Am I right in saying that alcohol doesn't pass over until a placenta is formed?
What would you all do?

HJWT · 10/01/2019 18:09

@kaytee87 i had a full bottle of wine 8 DPO with DD Never in a million hears thought i would be pregnant as it was first cycle! She is perfectly fine other than having a very annoying personality 😂

kaytee87 · 10/01/2019 18:15

@HJWT logically I know it would be fine I suppose!

PaintingOwls · 10/01/2019 19:39

kaytee87

I would test personally - even if it's a BFN and you ARE pregnant, it's assurance at least that the embryo hasn't embedded yet so no blood crossover.

Nocoffeenotalkie · 10/01/2019 20:39

@bunhead34 erm...about cycle 70...

Dr said because we have DC1, we're not entitled to help from NHS (we thought this but felt we should check) Our history meant ,we have been very relaxed about it. It took 3 years with DC1 and we know the issues (had tests etc) but fell pregnant just after our first appointment to start IVF. This year is going to be full on temping, OPKs etc rather than the 'if it happens, it happens approach.' I know DC2 may never happen for us but DC1 would love a sibling.

goldflakepaint · 10/01/2019 23:14

@PaintingOwls Just saw this:

I was just reading through the last few pages again and saw your comment, it's so true I want to put it on a t-shirt to wear every day of the TWW

Glad you could relate and understood what I was getting at as I was not as succinct as I would have liked (wrote that quickly in a flurry of frustration). I relayed it to dp later that day who did not relate but our experiences of ttc so far have been quite different.

Sorry to hear about all the BFN's lately- I'll add one more to the pile as I got a negative test this morning at 9dpo. Quite early but I had had some pink spotting the day before- a bit heavier than my usual pre-af spotting which then stopped. Plus I had been getting 'pregnancy symptoms' all over the shop- very painful boobs (could also swear that they had gotten bigger), headaches, exhaustion, cramping, all the usual suspects. Plus I rarely get to test as I have short cycles and that FRER was calling out of me (first time I have ever used one and I stared and stared at it until my eyes hurt but definately no second line).

Anyway pretty sure I'm out for this cycle as got more spotting this evening which is more like what I am used to before stupid af arrives. Still feel a bit sick but less so- perhaps because I'm no longer interpreting everything as a sign of pregnancy. I won't test again unless af does not arrive but not feeling massively hopeful- went to a Boxercise class tonight and let out my frustration by punching the air extra hard!
