Hi ladies! Just wondering if anyone else is trying for DC2? Hoping we can support each other through this journey 🙂 I have a soon to be 4 year old, on cycle no 2 and currently waiting to exhale ovulate!

@Misslove83 congrats that's a definite positive :-)

TwittleBee · 28/09/2018 06:29

Misslove83 It's great that you asked him about having a sibling and he said yes (mum asked me and I said no but she went ahead anyway lol!). Get him to help you do some research about what pram / car seat to get maybe? Make him feel useful for sure. He'll be a great big brother 🤞

No, I've never been on contraception since my teens. So that's a good few years ago. I did have retained placenta and a terrible infection which took a year after birth to diagnose and resolve so hopefully now that's sorted I have an actual chance of having a sticky BFP.

Ellikopter · 28/09/2018 06:30

Haha thanks @Misslove83 yeah I managed to pass my driving test within days of finding out my pregnancy so how I managed it I don't know lol

Ellikopter · 28/09/2018 06:34

So@rollerskaterdata @TwittleBee @Misslove83 @waitingforbaby2 @oatmilk4breakfast I fell from my loft yesterday looking at my baby stuff I put away from my son lol happy to say I only sustained scrapes as it was from the top feel really stupid

waitingforbaby2 · 28/09/2018 07:00

@Ellikopter I'm glad ur ok after your fall that could of been a lot worse, take it easy I hardly kept anything from first child as we kinda gave up on the idea of having another before now but luckily kept his cot-bed for some reason

Ellikopter · 28/09/2018 08:19

@waitingforbaby2 luckily we kept pram, car seat and isofix base quite a few clothes and toys etc so shouldn't be too bad if we are having a boy but a girl means lots more stuff lol

rollerskaterdata · 28/09/2018 11:15

@Misslove83 definite positive, congrats hun! Fantastic news 😊 x

@Ellikopter oh gosh I'm so sorry to hear that! I'm so glad you're ok and it wasn't more serious. Take it easy please! X

We kept quite a few things as we knew we'd want another. Hopefully won't have too much to buy, apart from new clothes if it's a girl lol!

Are people going to find out the sex with this baby? We did with DS but we both thought it'd be a nice surprise not to this time round. I'd like DH to tell me when I've given birth rather than the doctors 😊

Ellikopter · 28/09/2018 12:00

@rollerskaterdata yes I will be more careful :) I'm wanting to find out again but I wonder whether or not to wait but I would like to personalise the nursery so think we're finding out sex lol

TwittleBee · 28/09/2018 13:58

rollerskaterdata we are gonna find out for sure, I loved knowing DS was gonna be a boy and we called him his name as soon as we found out too so really felt like we were already bonding! But I do know what you mean about having that surprise with DH telling you! So exciting for you.

Ellikopter eeeek! Glad you are okay!

rollerskaterdata · 28/09/2018 15:41

@Ellikopter it will be my first time decorating a nursery and will be going with neutral colours I guess seeing as we're not finding out! I can imagine it'd be so nice to personalise it though!

@TwittleBee I know what you mean, I called DS by name as soon as we found out we were having a boy and I truly felt like I bonded with him more because of it. So this pregnancy will be a totally new experience but I'm looking forward to it and bonding in different ways!

I've said this time if I do fall pregnant I like the idea of keeping the gender a surprise as found out first time but I can imagine getting to the scan and changing my mind as I loved the first experience of going out after the scan buying all boy clothes

Misslove83 · 28/09/2018 19:21

Hey ladies, I'll reply when I can, I have a raging migraine!

OneMoreWish · 28/09/2018 21:28

So cd9 of cycle ... I can't believe I'm back to the waiting game again of waiting for ovulation and then tww. At least period is over.

Just to check now op is pregnant ( congratulations!! Xxx ) will this still be a ttc #2 thread or will it become a pregnancy thread?

Misslove83 · 29/09/2018 06:23

@Ellikopter I'm glad you're OK, did you get checked out?

@TwittleBee such god advice! Thankyou! I'll definitely be doing that, he loves geeking out over pros, cons and gimmicks to that will be perfect 👌

When I had my son, I wasn't trying or on contraception or being careful at all really and we were together 18 months before I fell pregnant 🤰, I had an infection in my cervix after having a Mirena coil removed about two years after son was born which was horrific and I have sometimes thought that maybe this time round it may have had an effect with ttc but as you know I've got a BFP (took test again this Morning). I'm hoping to give you some confidence with this story because first time round 18months is a long time when you're 19 and should be as fertile as a rabbit so hang on in there x

I've not got anything at all from last time for this one and I'm glad really, could you imagine how outdated everything would be! I found out I was having a boy last time and felt excited up until the point I knew and then felt a bit deflated like I'd spoilt the surprise so this time I hope DP will agree not to find out!

I've been up since 4am still have a bad head but not a migraine yet, it must be hormones/increased blood volume?

I'm at work all day and theatre with a friend tonight don't know how I'm gonna make it through ladies, fell asleep on sofa about, 8.30 last night.

Ellikopter · 29/09/2018 06:39

So we are telling our families today lol feel nervous about it. I've enjoyed the fact that only me and the hubby know about it but with ur second I do think that the bump is more apparent ???

waitingforbaby2 · 29/09/2018 06:53

Good luck with telling your family@Ellikopter I'm know what you mean about being nervous as although I'm not even pregnant yet the idea about telling mine makes me nervous especially my sister as she has been trying for her 2nd for two years now but she did say to me atleast make me a auntie again, she doesn't know I'm TTC and I'm unsure weather to tell her or not what do u think?

Misslove83 · 29/09/2018 07:02

@Ellikopter I know what you mean, wanting to tell them but not wanting to break yours and hubby's happiness bubble! How far along are you?

@waitingforbaby2 a tough one I can imagine but perhaps if she knows you are trying you're in it together, potentially soften the 'blow' if you conceive first and she wants you to make her an aunt so she must thinks it's a possibility ☺

waitingforbaby2 · 29/09/2018 08:08

@Misslove83 thanks for the advice I think I might tell her after her holiday as I don't want to spoil that if the news doesn't go down well

And congratulations on your pregnancy by the way and I hope you can keep yourself awake at the theatre tonight, enjoy yourself

waitingforbaby2 · 29/09/2018 08:17

@OneMoreWish I'm also curious to know if this will continue as a TTC thread as it looks like quite a few are pregnant now I'm due AF tomorrow so cycle #1 officially starts in October although I did wonder this month as I did have implant out just before ovulation ( I think if ovulation day was correct ) but now I think I'm out but I'm not disappointed, roll on next month to start trying properly good luck to you

oatmilk4breakfast · 29/09/2018 13:49

@Ellikopter oh my gosh hope you’re ok and that telling family goes well! ☺️

rollerskaterdata · 29/09/2018 14:31

To be honest I hadn't really thought about what would happen once a bunch of us got pregnant! I don't really know what protocol is, as it were! 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

OP posts:
Misslove83 · 29/09/2018 18:00

@Ellikopter how'd it go?

Ellikopter · 01/10/2018 06:58

Well everyone we told our families Saturday and all but my own mum was thrilled for us. So I've decided that if she's not happy then I won't tell her or share anything else with her now, nobody will spoil this for us.

Ellikopter · 01/10/2018 06:59

Got midwife on 8th October which I'm hoping she will have more of an idea on week but by then I should be 6weeks or so xx

TwittleBee · 01/10/2018 08:56

Ellikopter glad it went well with everyone bar your mum! Bit annoying how Mums can be like that! Mine keeps telling me "dont you dare think about trying for another one yet"... little does she know ey haha. I think they just worry about us coping and financially? I deal with it by thinking they worry because they care?

OneMoreWish and waitingforbaby2 should imagine as new people join it who are TTC #2 it will remain a TTC thread with updates on people's pregnancy. From my experience of these threads, sometimes it will fizzle out but someone will re start a new TTC#2 pretty soon and us still TTC#2 just jump on board that one.

So I been really nauseous, dizzy and having tightenings in my lower abdomen, all similar to what I had with DS. I took a bloody FRER at 9dpo and of course BFN. So annoyed at myself as I said I wouldnt use FRERs anymore (waste of £10 and spotted too many chemicals with them now anyway)
