@Carlye32 enjoy the wine! I'm sure things will normalise soon enough.

@BambiOnIce80 - did you have your day 21 blood test this morning? I went for a repeat one for me too. The nurse said the results would be ready today but to phone back on Monday just in case. I'm blatantly phoning this afternoon!

Noodella18 · 12/10/2018 10:34

Just checking in and have seen your BFP news @blondcat !!! Congratulations, so happy for you!

@melamine glad your early scan was positive! I ended up being sent for one at 8 weeks as midwife was concerned about daily spotting and all was fine, saw a little heartbeat so feeling more confident.

@kescilly how are you getting on with everything? Did you tell your family in the end?

Fingers crossed for everyone else XX

BambiOnIce80 · 12/10/2018 10:56

Well @79andnotout, it turns out I am a total tool! 😕 I absolutely know that in medical terms that the first day of AF is termed CD0. I know that. However, when I was booking my bloods with the lovely GP lady, I decided to be lazy and use my Flo app to tell me when CD21 was... and Flo counts the first day of AF as CD1, so I have in fact had my progesterone taken on CD20 🙄 So annoyed at myself! 😣 If anything is untowards I'll now have to have it sodding repeated because they'll need to exclude that it isn't down to it being taken on the wrong bastarding day! 😩 On the other hand, I wouldn't be able to get my bloods done on a Saturday so I'd have to get bled next cycle anyway 🙄

I would also be phoning this afternoon for the result if I were you 😉 They must have an automatic electronic results transmission between the lab and the GP, so it'll likely be there - I hope it's good news 🤞🏻🍀

79andnotout · 12/10/2018 10:59

@BambiOnIce80 - I should be having my blood taken tomorrow, but they aren't open (It's the hospital blood clinic, not the gp) so the gynae told me to go today instead. So you should be fine. I have been looking at hormone charts this morning (I really CBA to work today!) and to me it looks fine if you take it a day early, the levels should still be pretty high.

BambiOnIce80 · 12/10/2018 13:00

Thanks @79andnotout 💖 The nurse kind of made a big deal out of it and it's put me on edge 😕 Looking ahead CD21 is likely to be on a Saturday next cycle as well, so CD20 will have to flipping well do! Think I'll ask for my result when I get my CD0-5 bloods on the 22nd... and find out if they want to repeat it.

Once the 22nd is out of the way I can finish filling out the ACU questionnaire and send it away to get our first appointment - looking forward to hearing what the game plan is, for better or for worse!

... I'd really, really like to do that Chilean wine tour holiday next year 🙄 If we can't have kids, then 'every cloud'... 🍾 🥂 😬

79andnotout · 12/10/2018 13:07

Ha yeah I'm the same @BambiOnIce80 - I keep thinking of all the possibilities if kids are out of the picture once and for all! Bigger house, or reduce my hours at work? Sack everything off completely and hit the road with the animals in a campervan? I feel dizzy with options! I would definitely get another dog though, I think my hound could do with a non-feline friend.

Kescilly · 12/10/2018 15:17

@Noodella18 we decided to tell my parents but not anyone else. They were happy but cautious. I’ve been doing pretty well but the lack of nausea is making me suspicious! Hoping to do a private scan in two weeks, when I’ll be 8 weeks.

Honestly I’ve been kind of down about my interactions with the NHS so far. I’m suffering from a few conditions I can’t medicate for anymore, but I’ve avoided calling to ask about anything else because I realized how much it was affecting my mood each time. I don’t know yet if this pregnancy is viable, but I’ve been considering going back to my home country to give birth since I’d also have more support there. Right now I’m just going to see if I can get through the next six weeks.

Noodella18 · 12/10/2018 15:39

@kescilly I didn’t get any morning sickness til 7 weeks, so nothing to worry about (RELISH EVERY NON-NAUSEOUS MOMENT). I’m sure the early scan will put your mind at rest x

edidxb · 12/10/2018 15:40

Congrats @blondcat - fantastic news! I am also hoping for a rainbow baby. Good luck for the next few weeks.
@carley32 - enjoy your wine this weekend! And good luck for the next cycle.
@79andnotout - we have looked into a another dog for our current dog partly for company for her and partly for company for us. We did a trial with a rescue dog but it didn't go well. Our dog doesn't really like other dogs at all so that puts paid to that idea!

I am on CD14 today and hopefully ovulating today. I had a positive OPK on a Clearblue digital static smiley face (not the advanced one) on CD12 and then another positive on a cheapie on CD13. It was negative today but still had some ew cm and no temp rise this morning. I usually ovulate about 3 days after a positive OPK.

I bd on CD11 and today (CD14) so it's not as much as some people but it's all we can manage really. Husband is pretty unwell with a heavy cold so was worried he wouldn't want to do it today but thankfully pulled through!

I am back to acupuncture tomorrow - I think it's my 6th session this month. I have been going twice a week and I have noticed that my BBT is much higher than normal this month. I usually average out about 35.8 during the pre ovulation phase which is pretty low and then about 36.3 to 36.4 after ovulation. This month I have been about 36.3 pre ovulation which I can only put down to acupuncture and the Chinese herbs I have been taking.

I really feel like this is my month. I know I will probably end up disappointed but I feel like I really need to believe!

79andnotout · 12/10/2018 15:49

@Kescilly - having a good GP is a good first start. How is yours? I had an eating disorder when I was at uni and when I eventually got the courage up to seek help I got some appalling treatment. However I changed practices and doctors a couple of times until I found someone I could trust and helped me before it all got completely out of hand. The standard of care is very mixed.

@edidxb - our dog is a greyhound who was in kennels with all her racing mates until we took her on (she was crap at racing). I think she really misses her old buddies. Her tail wags so much when she encounters another sighthound when we're out walking! But yeah lots of dogs are only dogs, so at least you can feel satisfied that s/he's very happy where they are. Ours definitely loves the comfort upgrade (she got so excited when she saw her first sofa, we had to buy another for her!), but is a bit lonely I think.

Carley32 · 12/10/2018 19:13

@Bambi 🤞 that CD20 will be all that’s needed. (Sorry if I sound like I have no idea what I’m talking about. I actually don’t) but I am keeping 🤞 that you get some answers soon. And the same goes to everyone that are waiting on bloods etc.

We literally see mums and babies every 5 minutes of the day.... who knew the palava it takes to be one of them 🙈.

I like the sounds of a chilian wine tour 😍.

Hope everyone is have a great start to the weekend 😊

Beeseeinya · 13/10/2018 22:27

Still no AF. I am not getting hopes up though, very likely my cycle length will be 29. I've looked back since December and it was 26, 28, 26, 28, 26, 26, 29, 29, 20, 29. I am cd29 on Sunday so actually expect AF on Mon.

Russkispy · 14/10/2018 12:01

@Blondcat just saw your message! Congratulations! Absolutely thrilled for you!
Sorry to hear about AFs and BFNs. And some of you are struggling with other issues.
As for me, IUI done on Friday. Responded well to Clomid and didnt need additional injections for boosting the follicles. had 4 mature follicles, 2 on each side (never had it this way with IUI), and the dominant on the day, was on the left at 20mm. Had my acupuncture straight after procedure and then was on a drip. Now taking progesterone pills and other good stuff including some pills to help implantation. Have to do HCG blood test on 23 and 25 of this month.
Time will tell.

QuantumGirl · 14/10/2018 14:56

Hi @Russkispy good luck with iui, fingers crossed for you. I have read about iui and was tempted to give it a shot. Can you please explain to me how the procedure is? Why do you need clomid? Is it an injection?

Russkispy · 14/10/2018 15:26

@QuantumGirl ,
In September 2016, I had IUI back at home after 5 months natural TTC #1. I got inpatient and went for IUI on my 6th cycle. I had acupuncture every 2 weeks and took supplements and ate all iron rich foods. My fertility doctor suggested IVF and I declined. Told her I wanted IUI first. And my acupuncturist told me my body was ready for implantation and sustaining pregnancy. We just needed this little nudge and felt IUI was the right option. I took Clomid cd5-9 days, had a scan on cd10. Had 2 dominant follicles around 15mm. Took one more clomid pill, then ovitrelle trigger (triggering ovulation) and IUI was on CD13. And 2 weeks later it was BFP! My DD is 16 months now.
Again we had IUI this May after trying since January. Also had a polyp removal and endometrial scratch in March. Waited 1 cycle and our IUI was in May. Same protocol as above but didn't respond to Clomid well. 2 follicles were only 11mm on cd10. So I had to inject Gonal for 2 days and my follicles grew to 21 and 22mm respectively. Ovitrelle trigger and IUI. 2 weeks later was BFP but sadly it was a missed miscarriage at 8weeks. Pregnancy stopped at 6.
This time around we did IUI on the 3rd cycle post MC. I responded well to Clomid tablets this time and had 4 follicles which I didn't have previously. I triggered (injected Ovitrelle) on cd13 And IUI was done on cd15
Hope this helps

Oxted2018 · 15/10/2018 09:07

I didn't know much about IUI so the above is really helpful. Glad it worked for you the first time @Russkispy.

Just seen the news about Meghan. I wonder if she is posting on here somewhere?! I also wonder if she has been frantically POAS and temping etc for the last few months but somehow I suspect not!

MrsRRC · 15/10/2018 09:55

Morning ladies,

Have you all had excellent weekends?

I thought Meghan might have been for ages but the way she looked at Eugenie’s wedding confirmed it.

I’m abou 6-7 days dpo and in complete
contrast to my last cycle, as much of a symptom spotter I am, I feel nothing, no cramps, no sore nipples. Nothing. Apart from the odd twinge here and there, which could be wind. Nada.

Even though last month wasn’t my month I just know this month isn’t going to be either.

79andnotout · 15/10/2018 10:44

Good luck with the IUI @Russkispy!

@MrsRRC - I'm 8DPO, AF due Friday apparently. I feel the same as usual - boob pain. My temps are a bit all over the place but I've taken them at different times and had a glass too much wine on saturday night and woke up sweating with a really high temp.

Anyway, good news, my day 21 blood test came back at 30 this time, confirming ovulation! So, will hold off on the IVF referral for as long as possible and get a few more natural cycles in first.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Kescilly · 15/10/2018 10:57

Good luck @Russkispy!

@79andnotout that's great news! Do you feel a bit relieved?

Thanks for the advice btw, I'm just going to take it week by week and see how I feel. I've been really emotional so won't reply at length, but I appreciate the continued support. And @noodella18 you're totally right, I think it's starting to hit me now.

Any news, @Beeseeinya?

MrsRRC · 15/10/2018 11:07

@79andnotout that’s great news about the test. You must be relieved.

@kescilly It’s really opened my eyes to how complicated the whole process of getting pregnant is for sosme people and also the amount of worry and anxiety you get when you are pregnant! I never even thought of that before we started ttc. You are right to take things one day at a time, it’s all you can do but atleast you have some family support now you have told parents.

79andnotout · 15/10/2018 11:17

Thanks @MrsRRC and @Kescilly - yes very relieved! Probably doesn't change any outcome but at least I can live in hope of a natural conception for a few months.

@Kescilly, one day at a time is a very good approach.

QuantumGirl · 15/10/2018 12:26

Thank you @Russkispy for the explanation. I was under the impression iui used the eggs as they are without the need for clomid.

@79andnotout that's great news on the test, pleased for you.

I'm on CD25 and decided to complete disengage symptom spotting this month occupy my mind with something else every time I feel a twinge. I tell myself 'it's only wind' 😁🙈. AF due on Friday, keeping poker face on 😶

Beeseeinya · 15/10/2018 12:28

Still no AF! Did a test yesterday and BFN. CD30

BambiOnIce80 · 15/10/2018 12:50

Good afternoon ladies ☀ Just catching up after a rather 💩 weekend...

Has AF stayed away @Beeseeinya?

Keeping everything crossed for a good IUI outcome for you @Russkispy 🤞🏻🍀

@Oxted2018, they didn't waste much time, did they?! They only got married in May!

My first thoughts when you said you hadn't got any symptoms @MrsRRC was "hmmm... I wonder if that's a symptom within itself? 🤔"! 😂 I'm 8-9dpo and my inner symptom spotting psycho is doing quite a good job at leaving me alone so far 👍 Plenty of time between now and Saturday for that to change, of course 🙄

Sorry you're having a bad time of it @Kescilly 💐 Definitely agree that one day at a time is the way forward 💖

Great news on the progesterone result @79andnotout 😊 I've stuck to the plan and haven't rung up for mine just yet. Going to casually ask the nurse for it when she's doing my CD0-5 bloods next Monday 💉

So. My weekend started with DP losing his job on Friday 😓 Queue the entire weekend spent contingency planning and proof reading application forms. The only positive spin I can put on this development is that it's certainly an effective way of stopping me obsessing about TTC woes! 😒 Life really does throw some curve balls at us, doesn't it! Oh, the irony if AF doesn't turn up this month and a BFP does instead! 🙄

MrsBirds · 15/10/2018 12:53

Hi ladies

need some advice and positivity. I’m 13dpo cd28, had spotting 7dpo-10dp on CD 22-25. I’ve been tracking my bbt and it’s gone down from 36.30 to 35.50. Does this mean AF is on her way? I’m due on tomorrow had a faint line on a cheap test but all other tests I’ve done have come back negative.
