Hey @Blondcat hope you had a lovely holiday.

Hi @ededxb welcome to the thread.

Hope you’re all o.k ladies. Just at the end of AF & determined to try Smep this month if DH & I can handle it lol Grin

Sessy19 · 30/09/2018 07:11

@PixieN What is SMEP, what does it involve? Is it just a case of having sex on the right day?

PixieN · 30/09/2018 07:42

Hi @Sessy19 It’s sperm meets egg plan. If i’ve got it right you dtd on cycle day 8 and every other day from that point until you get a positive opk. Then you dtd every day for three days in a row, have one day off then once more for good luck. Sounds pretty knackering tbh - will have to see how we get on Smile

Blondcat · 30/09/2018 09:32

@pixieN holiday was lovely thank you. Really don't want to go back to work tomorrow Sad.

Well I have had 5 days of flashing smiles, now on cycle day 15. Did the BD twice. Flo thought my OD was 3 days ago, Ovia thinks today. So will have another go tonight. Not yet had positive on the cheap opks, faint line only.

Last night I suddenly thought, I really can't be arsed to have children. I think it was some adverts on TV featuring teenagers and how cool they are that did it 😂

Carley32 · 30/09/2018 11:21

@Beeseeinya 🙈😂 it’s already stressful before children are even here Isn’t it!
I’ve been using the cheapy opk’s I had a few days straight of a faint line a few weeks ago now this week a blazing second line but not a smidge the day before or after, I’m currently on CD 32 and so bloody confused! X

Carley32 · 30/09/2018 11:23

@PixieN good thank you. Good luck with the smep.... the thought tires me out 😂 x

PixieN · 30/09/2018 11:51

Haha @Beeseeinya I’m a teacher so I often have days where I think bloody hell, do I really want one of these?! 😳😂

Carley32 · 30/09/2018 12:11

@Pixi I’m a nursery nurse. I’d say the thought is daily 😂😊 x

LeonieKate · 30/09/2018 15:28

Hello! New to mumsnet, first time adding a message to a thread. I'm 36 and have been TTC since January this year. Today is the first day of my period so feeling pretty gutted, but glad to have found this thread!

Blondcat · 30/09/2018 15:55

Welcome @leoniekate.

@pixieN and @carley32 on the plane on the way home yesterday there were a few toddlers and one was kicking off (tired didn't want to be restrained for take off and landing etc) dh turned to me and said you sure you want one!? I said hmm yes I think so but maybe we won't do holidays until they are a bit older! I did feel for the parents doing their best but whole plane looking at them. There were a lot of younger people with hangovers though so probably not ideal (snigger oh to be young again)

I seem to be spotting a pattern. Pre ovulation I'm not interested in kids. I'm googling whippet rescue centres and planning my next house remodel. Then around ovulation and the luteal phase I get all teary and emotional when I see nice kids in films etc. Which one is the real me?!! I'm hoping it's pre ovulation me as my house remodel looks pretty good in my mental vision!

Sorry for AF @Russkispy - IUI next month sounds like a good idea. You've had time to recover physically from the miscarriage and you've had good success rates with it.

Sounds like a great doctor, @BambiOnIce80. Mine has been helpful and level headed too. I love the way she always sincerely thanks me for visiting her when I see her! She's the best.

Hope everyone else had a nice weekend and welcome newbies. So many of us here now! It's hard to keep track. Forgive me if I say anything stupid, the brain ain't what it used to be.

edidxb · 30/09/2018 18:05

Thanks all for the welcome.
@pixiN - I am also a teacher, of Secondary so I also have those days. But also days where I feel so proud of them all!
Hi @LeonieKate - I am in the same position as you. New to Mumsnet, also 36 and I am CD3 so almost the same timing.
I am trying acupuncture for the first time this month and I have some herbs to take. It was amazing on the weekend, 30 minutes of feeling like I was riding a wave of some kind! So maybe it is my month!

madamdarkin · 30/09/2018 18:07

I got my BFP two days ago!

37, TTC for 2 months DC 3.

Month one I didn't see my partner for two weeks before OD and we only BD night after ovulation, so pretty much that didn't count.

Our bodies are amazing!!!!

LeonieKate · 30/09/2018 18:44

Ah @edidxb so glad it was amazing! That sounds like a good 30 minutes of wave riding! I hope this is your month (and mine).

@madamdarkin that's so great! Your news is giving me hope, which I'm feeling in desperate need of today.

Getting pregnant seems weirdly impossible, something that happens to other people, I sort of can't imagine it for myself... Does anyone else get that? So it feels like all this TTC is somehow theoretical, and every time AF arrives I feel angry with myself for daring to hope it could happen for me.

Does anyone know what I mean, or am I off my rocker??!

BambiOnIce80 · 30/09/2018 19:20

Welcome @LeonieKate and no, you're not off your rocker! It definitely seems like an abstract concept to me that only happens to other people too 😂

@79andnotout, I think you're onto something there 🤔 I'm feeling exactly the same this weekend - more interested in how we're going to remodel the living room than how we're going to get pregnant! The part time cats been here all day too, so getting a fur baby is once again being discussed 🐈 Next week when FW comes around the switch will flick over and it'll all be about babies again... sodding hormones 🙄

@edidxb, I'm glad you're feeling good on the acupuncture ☺️ I'm on my second month of it tomorrow. Think I'll stick with it until at least January, but then I'm going to have to reassess. It's pretty pricey and I could be investing in a kitten instead 😉

Glad you had a nice holiday @Blondcat. Keeping everything crossed that it's done the trick for your FW 🤞🏻

Chelonia · 30/09/2018 21:22

Snap! It's definitely a cyclic thing, I tend to just feel ambivalent about having kids the majority of my cycle and then have quite an intense week of "when is it our turn?" There must be a very good evolutionary reason for this!
Ovulated CD17, DTD CD14 and 15, currently 7dpo and don't feel particularly hopeful given our timing so sticking with my rule of only testing if AF is late (has never happened...)
DP has been ill for the last 5 days, he went to Dr on day one and Dr said he needed to go to dentist as he thinks it's related to a rotten tooth 😷 and he's just p*ed around and not done it! And I'm expected to feel sympathy for the fact he can't walk in a straight line due to dizziness and has terrible pain! I am feeling the opposite of sympathetic I am absolutely seething. It's making me question my maternal ability as I don't even want to look at him until he's actually done something to help himself!!

Chelonia · 30/09/2018 22:54

.....aaaaaaaaand he's currently sat in a dentist chair having two teeth extracted and I'm feeling very guilty for being such a cow Blush

Kescilly · 30/09/2018 23:11

Hello @LeonieKate and anyone else I missed!

Glad you had a nice holiday, @Blondcat. Good to be home?

BambiOnIce80 · 01/10/2018 07:33

Well, at least he's finally gotten round to helping himself @Chelonia!😂 I have very little tolerance for people that don't help themselves either, so I get it 😉

79andnotout · 01/10/2018 09:55

@Chelonia - I am exactly the same. My typical response to OH when he moans about something is go to xyz professional, until you've done that, I don't want to hear about it. He never does.

Hope he isn't feeling too bad after having the teeth out though.

Beeseeinya · 01/10/2018 13:28

Did anyone watch the new 9pm BBC drama last night, The Cry? Did a really impressive job at making me never want children.

I think ovulation has come and gone (if it happened at all). Still getting flashing smiley but perhaps the surge didn't register. I definitely felt sticky cm for the past 3 or 4 days, and today feels like it's all gone.
I might just assume I am now 2dpo So I can join in with the 2ww funtimes.

CNizzle · 01/10/2018 17:26

@LeonieKate thats exactly how I feel... like getting pregnant is something that happens to other people. Unfortunately think my body believes it too Confused the frustration is real.

wheresthehope · 01/10/2018 21:35

Can I join here?!
TTC my first for 15months
I had a mmc in june and this is my 3 cycle since
I am 9dpo atm but honestly don't feel this is going to be my month!
Never expected it to take so long!
