We seem to have filled up our last thread so here is a new one.

A wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the ttc journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Goodluck to all ladies we can do it Smile

Hi @wheresthehope, welcome to the group. I’m sorry about your MMC, that must have been really difficult. Have your cycles regulated since?

PixieN · 02/10/2018 22:15

Hi @LeonieKate and @wheresthehope - welcome to the group.

I’ve just watched The Cry with DH and luckily we were both in agreement that the bloke is a complete tool. DH was muttering ‘let her sleep!’ lol. I can’t believe that he was sat on the plane with his eye mask & ear plugs in! 😳 Moral of the story - never take a baby on a plane and make sure your partner does his fair share of the childcare. Seriously though, I am gripped. What on earth has happened to the baby???

CNizzle · 02/10/2018 22:43

@pixieN thats a good predictor for the future, that your dh will take his fair share ;-)

Hpw is everyone getting on? Any poas? Im 6dpo. Going to London next wednesday for OH 40th birthday on thursday. Seriously hoping for a bfp by the time we go. I've got a lot resting on this cycle, so its sure to be a bfn.
OHs 40th next week, dont want AF on holiday, plus ive got the HyCoSy (hsg) scan booked for 28th which means im not allowed to ttc next cycle unless the mean secretary lets me rearrange it for the first half of the following cycle

Carley32 · 03/10/2018 07:11

Hi @CNizzle 👋. Keepin my fingers and toes crossed for a bfp. 🤞 it’s your month and you won’t need the scan!
I am good thanks, apart from usual work stress which I wish I could just leave at work, I’m sure stress is affecting my cycle.

I am 6 dpo... I think, according to cheapy OPK anyway. Still have no idea when AF is due though so don’t know when I should test really.

Hello new friends 👋. Hope you a are all good and this thread gets another bfp soon xx

Blueberry1 · 03/10/2018 07:14

@PixieN - haven't seen The Cry, but we took little Blueberry on a plane a month ago (family wedding abroad) at 4 months old and he didn't cry very much. He even slept most of the way back (evening flight) on my knee. One trick is to feed the baby (bottle or breast) on take off & landing so they don't get distressed by their ears popping. Unfortunately there was turbulance when we landed back in the UK so little blueberry got jiggled around a bit on my boob; ouch!

BambiOnIce80 · 03/10/2018 07:43

Welcome @wheresthehope 👋 I never thought it would take so long either, but keeping fingers-crossed for you this cycle🤞🏻

@Kescilly, are you back in Blighty? I hope all is still going well?x

TWW here again for you @CNizzle and @Carley32! I hope your inner symptom spotting psycho's don't wreck your heads too much and you get your BFP's this time (especially for DP's 40th present @CNizzle!) 🍀

I haven't seen the cry, but might check it out on iplayer if you guys are giving it good reviews? Been thinking of giving 'the slap' a go on 4OD, but have a feeling I'd be siding with the slapper! 😬

Only CD12 here and kind of giving SMEP a go this cycle ('kind of' because I'm pretty sure neither of us will be arsed to do the 3 days in a row bit over the weekend 🙄). DP seems to be embracing the challenge though, so I've ordered extra preseed so that my lady bits don't get destroyed! 😂

PixieN · 03/10/2018 07:58

@Blueberry1 That sounds like a lovely experience, apart from the landing back in the UK part 😳 I don’t think a short-ish flight would be too bad, but in the programme it was something like 21 hours (with a crying baby) as they were flying to Australia. Nightmare! Tbh I wouldn’t want to fly with a baby anyway as i’m not the best flyer - would probably pass that nervous tension on.

@Carly32 I’m quite stressed out with work at the min & wondering how it might affect ttc. Need some strategies to relax!

Fingers crossed for a bfp @CNizzle

Good luck with SMEP @BambieOnIce we start today and i already feel exhausted at the thought lol Grin

Beeseeinya · 03/10/2018 08:28

The bloke in the cry was a bit of an arse, it is true. Pretty sure my bloke is better though he does have an issue with letting go at work. He doesn't get home until past 7 most nights because he 'doesn't think to leave at 5'. Hum

I've given up ttc this month. The opks stopped making sense and I'm too knackered this week with a major work event to bother with BD. Will see if the 2 times we did result in some luck. I'm going with 6dpo.

79andnotout · 03/10/2018 13:12

I fly a lot with work, and as such, will never take a child under 5 on a flight unnecessarily. We will holiday in a camper van until they are old enough to not screech, kick seats, or have tantrums. I don't blame the kids, flying is bloody awful. My flight from singapore to sydney a couple of weeks ago was non stop screaming and wailing, everyone was knackered including those poor kids. Not fun.

I'd also like to get to the stage where I don't fly for work either. Roll on retirement!

Kescilly · 03/10/2018 13:34

Yes @BambiOnIce80 we are back! I'm impressed that you are giving SMEP a go. You'll be too exhausted in the TWW to symptom spot!

All appears to be okay here, but I have no way of knowing really. So we've decided to book an early scan around 8 weeks to see if there's anything there. I don't want to wait another two months to find out if there's something wrong.

I hope it's okay that I'm still posting here. I've tried posting on some pregnancy threads but to be honest, I don't feel as comfortable. This thread was the first where I felt like I actually fit in and found people who were at the same place as me.

If this pregnancy does result in a baby, I think we will be doing many trips abroad to the US. I'm exhausted just thinking about it, but my parents were immigrants and took all three of us to their home country every year. And that was even further! I haven't watched The Cry yet (or Bodyguard) but maybe I'll give it a go. I tried watching Keeping Faith and lost interest, but maybe these are more interesting.

TheNewbieStep · 03/10/2018 15:11

@LeonieKate I feel exactly the safe way. Resigned to the fact that it appears pregnancy alludes me.

This time last year I had just found out I was pregnant. Feels like a lifetime ago. I never thought that a year on I would be no closer to having a baby x

TheNewbieStep · 03/10/2018 15:19

@wheresthehope

I'm with you darling TTC for 15 months (accupuncture actually longer, the six months prior we were just 'seeing what happens')

MC in October last year. Nothing since. Welcome to the thread x

TheNewbieStep · 03/10/2018 15:36

Sorry if TMI - has anyone used a mooncup to try and keep the swimmers where they need to be post 'special cuddle' x

CNizzle · 03/10/2018 17:20

@theNewbieStep i do this!! Although its clearly not worked so far!! Certainly makes things a little ahem cleaner!! Grin

BambiOnIce80 · 03/10/2018 17:58

Glad you're home safe and sound @Kescilly - please don't go away! I'd love to keep up with your (success 🤞🏻) story.x

It only takes 1 @Beeseeinya, so you've certainly DTD enough! 🍀

Ooh, sounds like we're on a similar time line this cycle @PixieN 🙂 DP has informed me that he had extra chilli's at lunch (he's read somewhere that it's an aphrodisiac!).

Carley32 · 03/10/2018 18:43

@BambiOnIce80 thanks, me too. I did feel quite nauseous yesterday but I doubt that’s a symptom 6dpo. Today I’m feeling quite stressed and down so maybe that’s a sign AF is on the way 🙄.
Good luck with the smep 🤞🤞. Your braver than I am, I don’t think I’d have the energy or the guts 🙈.

I have the Cry on record. Planning on watching it tonight 👍.

@PixiN I definitely think it can affect ttc. Which means I have no hope. I’m a stressful person anyway and having a stressful job just tips me over the edge lol. But I love it to much to look for another.
What do you do?
Yes I wish I could get into something that relaxes me, exercise is said to be the best medicine, but I feel like if I exercise then I am choosing to do that over a nice long bath or cooking DP a nice tea. If I did it all there’d certainly be no time to ttc. Excuses i know!

@Kescilly glad you’re staying it’s nice to hear the positives too 😊.

I am making curry tonight @Bambi maybe I should add a few extra chillies 🌶.

The bodyguard is quite good. Also a bit slow but it does pick up.

Beeseeinya · 03/10/2018 19:42

Scratch that! Just took a test out of boredom and now static smiley face and darkest (bit not as dark as needs to be) cheaper test. So maybe I am just ov on cd18. Actually, Ovia thought this was my fertile week even though it's so late. So let's go with that! Now I just need him to get home from work!!

BambiOnIce80 · 03/10/2018 20:09

Ooooh good luck @Beeseeinya!! 🍆🍀😉

Carley32 · 03/10/2018 20:29

@Beeseeinya goodluck 👍

wheresthehope · 03/10/2018 21:34

Thanks ladies!
I thought my cycles had stayed pretty regular until this one...
My AF has been horrific this month. It came 4 days early and I have had so much bleeding I wont go into detail but I am contacting my doctor today...Sitting at work light headed and out of energy prob gives you a slight idea [shocked]
Rather quite stressful

Kescilly · 03/10/2018 22:15

Good luck @Beeseeinya! We only managed once during my FW last month which is why I thought I was out. But apparently once really is enough!

I never used a cup or anything, just stayed in bed for 10-15 mins then got up and got on with my day.

CNizzle · 03/10/2018 22:41

Oh dear @wheresthehope that sounds dreadful. Hope your gp can help. Hope you aren't feeling awful in work. Time for treating yourself... cozy pjs & hot chocolate? Or red wine?!

wheresthehope · 04/10/2018 02:38

My doctor thinks it could be another early miscarriage.. took some blood to do a complete blood count . So disappointed

BambiOnIce80 · 04/10/2018 07:36

Sending you love @wheresthehope 💐 Look after yourself.x

MrsRRC · 04/10/2018 08:14

Sorry to hear that @wheresthehope ☹️ Make sure you take some time for yourself.
