We seem to have filled up our last thread so here is a new one.

A wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the ttc journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Goodluck to all ladies we can do it Smile

Hey @LittleLuce37. I’m so so sorry to hear about your stillbirth. How utterly awful and tragic. You’re welcome of course but we are all TTC our first so our problems may be different. There is a thread about TTC after still birth which is active, you might find some great support there. Good luck either way. 🍀 x

LittleLuce37 · 07/09/2018 20:20

Thank you I realised after I had posted it sorry! TTC is awfully confusing and stressful isn't it... aaargh!

PixieN · 07/09/2018 20:25

Hi @LittleLuce37 I’m so sorry to hear about your stillbirth. It must have been completely heartbreaking to go through Flowers I hope that you are getting some support. Two friends have experienced this and found Sands to be a really good source of support xx

PixieN · 07/09/2018 20:48

Sorry to hear about your DP getting cold feet @TheNewbieStep I was wondering how you were getting on x You really need his support right now, but it does sound like he’s scared and lashing out at you with criticism and ‘wasting NHS resources’ nonsense. Is he worried about starting the new job too? Not trying to justify it or defend his actions in anyway - just wondering if there are other reasons. I would be feeling angry and frustrated (especially as IVF has been approved) if I were you. Do you think he will come round? I really hope you can sort things out x

I’ve also found that my periods are more painful as i’ve got older, but I know it could be worse. Really sympathise @CNizzle Has anyone else found that their periods have changed/or doing odd things? I ended up having a 3 day period this month and they’re usually 4 days.

Good luck @melamine and @Sessy19 Love the French idea of crossing fingers/holding thumbs @Chelonia - sending lots of baby dust and positive thoughts to you all xx

Carastarchild · 07/09/2018 22:59

Can I join please? I am 36 and TTC#2 or is this thread only for those TTC#1? I will be 37 in October, so I feel the need to get going with TTC. I would like to have two more children. 3 is a magic number Wink I am currently CD 4.

@Littleluce I am so sorry to hear about your incredibly difficult journey Sad. I hope you conceive soon and that your ttc journey will be easy Flowers

Sessy19 · 08/09/2018 06:17

@carastarchild There are lots of threads for TTC in your 30s, and here, we are all those who haven’t yet experienced childbirth and child rearing...

The threads are always changing so it might take some trawling through, but you can pin the thread most suitable for your circumstances (trying to conceive in 30s/over 35/second baby....whichever is how you feel) and then you’ll be able to find it when you come to mumsnet, rather than trawling.

It’s not that you’re not welcome, btw, it’s just that the specific needs of the individuals posting here will be different from yours 😊

Erm... 🤭
And after spending £50 on phase lengthening supplements in a huff! I believe that’s what’s known in the trade as Sods Law. Thanks for all the crossed fingers and held thumbs. Clearly they worked!

Melamine · 08/09/2018 09:23

Thank you everyone & sorry to hear about AF @sessy19. I’m going to stick around a bit if people don’t mind. Won’t really believe it until I see it! Will pay for early scan at 7/8 weeks since it didn’t make it past 6/7 last time. Fingers tightly crossed.

Russkispy · 08/09/2018 09:26

@Melamine beautiful lines! Massive congratulations! Hope it sticks, all crossed for you!
@Sessy19 , sorry about AF!

Kescilly · 08/09/2018 09:28

@Melamine yay! I’m so pleased for you. This was really nice news to wake up to!

Sorry to hear about AF, @Sessy19.

Noodella18 · 08/09/2018 09:29

@cnizzle keeping fingers crossed for you, sounds promising

@kescilly thanks for asking, now at 16dpo and still definitely preggo, relieved that it didn’t just come out with my period. Still can’t quite believe it. My partner is a doc and didn’t let himself show that he was excited til period was officially missed, but now he’s being very sweet which is nice! Good luck this month, yes deffo just takes one!

Noodella18 · 08/09/2018 09:31

@melamine ooh early scan, tell me more? I didn’t realise you had lost a pregnancy previously, fx this one sticks. So so pleased for you, I came online just to see if you had tested!!

Melamine · 08/09/2018 09:44

Thanks you guys. It’s the good luck vibes from here that made it happen 😉 none of my IRL friends are really in the same place.

@noodella18 yes I lost my first one to a MMC in April. It stopped growing at 6/7 but I didn’t find out until 11.5 weeks when I started spotting & paid for a scan a week before my NHS one was due (they couldn’t fit me in for a week at the EPAU). I am trying to see it as a positive that my body held onto it for so long. It won’t affect the outcome of course but I’d much rather have known at 8 weeks than being oblivious until 11.

Noodella18 · 08/09/2018 09:53

@melamine oh I'm so sorry to hear that, must have been horrible. Best of luck this one is a winner xx

CNizzle · 08/09/2018 10:15

@noodella thanks.
Dont actually know what's going on with me. Had cramps and spotting thursday. Nothing friday. Woke up at 4am for a pee today and noticed blood on wiping, so bunged in the mooncup and took some paracetamol in preparation. Changed it when i got up at 7 and there was a fair amount of red blood. The paracetamol has worn off now & would be due more but no cramps... unusual. Check the mooncup. Nothing. Just a tiny bit of beige cm.
Weird. Im presuming my body is just gearing up for AF, but I wish it would just get on with it! Im going out with OH to a charity football match today & will be out all day, I cant be bothered with the uncertainty. The good thing about mooncups is you can just pop them in just in case, as theyre good for up to 12 hours (although I never really go beyond 7-8 at night).

CNizzle · 08/09/2018 10:17

@Sessy19 soz about AF arriving & the cramps, I feel your pain :Sad

BambiOnIce80 · 08/09/2018 10:23

Congratulations @Melamine!! 🎉💐🎊 That's lovely news to wake up to! 😊

Sorry AF showed her ugly face @Sessy19 😔. Sending baby dust for next month.x

@PixieN, yeah, my periods have definitely changed - as much as I'm trying to ignore the fact 🙄 Before I got divorced I used to have a 31 day cycle, which changed to 28 days about 4 months after we separated. Kind of put that down to a combination of no longer having regular sex for the first time in 13 years and the stress of the break up. My periods were always heavy for a good 3 days and lasted a week. Had the coil put in 2 years ago and they got a little lighter and shortened to 6 days. Coil came out in March and I thought they'd go back to heavier and longer... but they didn't 😕 They've stayed at 6 days, but they're lighter still (only really heavy for 1 day). I'm going to fill my poor lovely doctor lady in all this when I go to see her next month. Pretty sure she's going to say I'm perimenopausal 😔 At least I'll know though.
