krocket · 15/09/2004 13:16

other thread has no been deleted

sweetheart · 15/09/2004 13:19

hello,

I feel like i've neglected this tread a bit today - I missed out on all the new thread business. I'm sure it's fine krocket - don't worry too much about it.

Anyway, hows the naturalist thing working out Tania???
How's your day at work Runtus - not sure i'll be checking my cervix, well maybe not till next month anyway

muddaofsuburbia · 15/09/2004 13:22

The starting a new thread thing is not official Mumsnet protocol AFAIK - it seems to be a superstition that's developed over the months. This is always going to be an emotive thread so I guess tempers can flare up quickly. Boats can get easily rocked, so best to keep the peace.

Continued good luck to everyone here. I'm BDing for all I'm worth this week (2nd month ttc) so will keep you posted. Moving house next month, so a new baby in a new house would be fab

krocket · 15/09/2004 13:24

I realise not official protocol but i just didn't know. Please don't make me feel any worse. I'm sorry. Other thread is gone

Geordie · 15/09/2004 13:27

Krocket- think it was a mistake that serveral of us could have made easily. ttc is soooooo stressful...don't let this pile excess stress on you.....

cd and getting excited here....bd bd bd bd bd...am going to see how this month goes and the book reflexology next month if not pg..at the evry least I hope to keep the stress levels down!!

All done and dusted and deleted now..let's move on.

Calling BeckiF? Calling BeckiF?

BeckiF · 15/09/2004 13:30

I'm back ... I didn't mean to cause such a rumpus I was just so upset, you ladies know what it's like. Maybe someone else would like to start ttc 10 as this hasn't been a particulalury luck thread really ... So go ahead ... start no. 10 and I'll join you there.

OP posts:
sweetheart · 15/09/2004 13:33

i feel like a big hush has fallen - and everyone's too worried to start ttc 10.

Becki - just start it, it might be more lucky for you

Geordie · 15/09/2004 13:34

go on becki...pleeeease...we just want to chat and not have to wait ages for it to download......

Tania2 · 15/09/2004 13:39

You go for it girl everyone has given there blessing. please BeckiF i want to go to bed but iam waiting for the new thread to start.

Tania2 · 15/09/2004 13:43

Come on iam going to eat everything in my pantry if i dont go to bed soon.......

Azure · 15/09/2004 13:45

As an oldie and the successful starter of TTC #8, I can confirm that there is no protocol in only starting a new thread when the originator of the previous one graduates. It has been a trend in a number of the TTC threads (not all) - and always a joke about everyone wanting to start the new thread - but sadly not guaranteed.

sweetheart · 15/09/2004 13:56

is anyone going to start this bl**dy thread!!!????????

Some of us have nothing better to do than wait for it!!!

runtus · 15/09/2004 14:04

Blimey, I hadn't realised that the whole cervical checking thing was so 'rare', I would have kept quiet otherwise ! . Oh well, I don't mind being the oddball so long as it detracts from this "whole who starts what business"...........

You'll all be clamouring for the privacy of your toilets when I announce my pregnancy next month!

Sweetheart, work isn't too bad actually - got my annual review tomorrow so I've just taken the new MD out for lunch! Sucker....... Actually I was going to ask some of you a question about it. Has anyone negotiated for an above statutory maternity package? I work for a v small company which is going through a bit of a rough patch financially. I have worked basically 2 jobs here the whole of this year and (I feel) taken on loads of extra responsibility to get the company through the bad patch. I don;t feel I can ask for a raise due to the lack of funding but I was thinking that I could request a better maternity package.

Just wondered if anyone else had experience I can draw on?

pamina, it was my im cd 24

runtus · 15/09/2004 14:14

Sweetheart - are you hiding around the corner??? If so, make me a cup of tea, I'm gasping!

The company was all male until I joined 6 years ago, at which point there was no Maternity policy (as there was no need really!). Since then we have employed various women but it wasn't until last year that we had our 1st Maternity case come up, at which point I wrote the policy but
could only make it statuory for financial and 'political' reasons). We have now had 2 maternity cases and my employers are aware of my plans (long story but it was necessary to tell them). I don't think they will have a problem with my proposal but I just wondered really if anyone had exp. of getting policy changed for their case?

MrsWednesday · 15/09/2004 14:20

I can't start a new thread, I'm too new.

Runtus, I also work for a smallish company and although I didn't negotiate an above statutory maternity package they did give me a 'back to work' bonus after I'd been back (part-time) for 6 months. Is this something that would be useful for you? They might be in a better financial situation then too.

Tania2, are you still here or have you gone to bed? Your natrapath info is very interesting - wishing you all the very best of luck with it.

Thank you for the info on medisave too Sweetheart.

MINNIE1 · 15/09/2004 14:38

How about a vote on starting the new thread (its one way of getting it started)
I elimate myself as my AF is all messed up, 33 days and counting and still no sign...
MrsWednesday I think you should start..
what do the rest of you ladys think??
(don't want to step on any toes as we are all ttc here and we all need support)

Geordie · 15/09/2004 14:46

New thread started...come and join Becki F and the rest of us!!

Sallie · 16/09/2004 12:50

Have just miscarried (very early but still surprisingly upsetting) - have posted on the no 10 thread. Best of luck to everyone else this month....

mit · 14/03/2005 20:12

Hi LucieB
This is mit, I've been off mumsnet for absolutely months (I find it far too adictive - starving my hubby and no clean clothes....). Anyhow, I promised to write when I became pg, which I have!
When dd was 11 months old my period finally came back, I continued to bf her until she was 13 months. We concieved almost instantly and I'm currently 12 weeks pg. Dd will be 21 months when no. 2 arrives.
I hope you've had success and are awaiting the arrival of a little budle.
Best wishes,
mit x
