Darling Ladies ... I wish us all luck on this new thread (especially me!) ... I hope that we have the same great amount of graduates that the last thread had!

So, group hug and let's get to it! Wooo Wooooo!!!!

we used to use that joke at school about when a teacher was happy it was because they had "got laid". Teenagers eh!!!

I'm the same at work - infact I've had better conversations on here today than I have at work. I really dispise the fact i spend so much of my life tied to this fing desk with people i would never normally choose to be with. Would much rather be spending some QT with my beautiful girl - but thats enough of the glum stuff.

Becki, I went for a smear the other day and when she looked at my notes she said "oh yes, secondary infertility"!!! I was so shocked - I'm not infertile!!!
I have a gyne appointment at the hospital at the end of this month to be tested for PCOS - have all the symptoms and it runs heavily in my family so I won't be shocked if they say I have it - will be quite nice to finally have it diagnosed and get some drugs to sort it out!!!

runtus · 14/09/2004 14:20

Just reminded me to book my smear - well done!

sweetheart · 14/09/2004 14:21

Becky, what diet are you doing??? I'm on weight watchers at the mo and am 5Ibs away from goal

sweetheart · 14/09/2004 14:21

I'm such a useful public service
Just don't tell my dh

runtus · 14/09/2004 14:25

Dr's said I have to have it done next month now....which I am so not going to remember

sweetheart · 14/09/2004 14:27

Does your mobile phone have a diary??? - you could set an alarm on that - if not log onto one of the birthday reminder websites and use that - they'll send you an e-mail to remind you!!!

runtus · 14/09/2004 14:42

I need you as my mum!

sweetheart · 14/09/2004 14:47

ROFL!!!!!

I tell you what - I'll set the reminder on my phone and then put it on here when you need to book it

runtus · 14/09/2004 14:57

Hooray!

Of course, as we will both be pregnant by then... you are allowed to forget and I am allowed not to care when the time comes!

sweetheart · 14/09/2004 15:00

Of course we will and because you dodged it this month you won't have to have another one for at least a year!?!?!?!?!?!

Nice work runtus - wish I'd thought of that one

BeckiF · 14/09/2004 15:57

I was following the Gillian McKeith principals and ate fruit and veg and the like. Loved it and the weight fell off me and I felt great! What with recent upsets I have been of the rails but have every intention of getting back on. Our engagement party in 3 weeks so need to drop a bit more to look more lovely!

sweetheart · 14/09/2004 16:30

Becky,
I've not heard of that one - I'm sure you'll look lovely for your engagement party though.

Good luck, SH

runtus · 14/09/2004 16:31

Sweetheart, it's like when I was a kid and smoked. You could guarantee as soon as I sparked up, my mum would walk round the corner. If only I'd thought of it earlier!

BeckiF - what are the Gillian Mckieth principles, I'm looking for a new weight loss plan....

BeckiF · 14/09/2004 16:36

Look at her page here She is the lady that did that 'You are what you eat' program. It is amazing how much better you feel when you cut all the shite out of your diet, it truly is. It's just that being a junkfood addict is such a chep habit to feed

sweetheart · 14/09/2004 16:40

I couldn't be doing with eating lentils and pulses!!! YUK!!!

runtus · 14/09/2004 16:46

I'm trying to convince myself to eat pulses and stuff but not doing very well. I got as far as making humous but not actually eaten any yet....we do like the program she does though.

sweetheart · 14/09/2004 16:49

I was a vegitarian for a year when i was a teenager (yes it was a phase)

I put on loads of weight coz I refused to eat vegtables and just ate crisps and chocolate!! Argh those were the days - now it's salad, salad and more salad!!!

Although I'm doing quite well on my diet, I've lost 1St 11Ibs so far

sweetheart · 14/09/2004 16:53

Well I'm off home now - thank god!!!!

I'll be about later tomorrow - it's my dd 1st proper day at school (she had a couple of trial days last week but tomorrow is the "no going back" day)

Wish me luck - I may need to sob to you lot tomorrow

MrsWednesday · 14/09/2004 17:01

Hello girls,

Can I join? I've just de-lurked myself on Tex's thread and am feeling bold.

I'm trying for number 2 after two miscarriages this year (I have a DS who is 2 next week). I'm just coming up to ovulation time and am nervous about trying again if I'm honest. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hulababy · 14/09/2004 20:20

Hi Mrs Wednesday, and welcome to the "club"

Congratulations Sallie!!!

Thought I'd add my stats:

These are mine:-

  • I am 31 Years old
  • Our dd is 2y 5m
  • We've been married for 6 years (Summer 1998); met my dh at 16
  • We've been ttc #2 since this month! On CD 7 now
  • I work PT as an ICT teacher (2 days at a secondary school, one day supply at schools and/or prison)
  • DH is a solicitor
  • We live in Sheffield
  • TTC #1 took us a while - 15 months, early mc, then 14-15 months
  • This time trying temping and using FF to help predict right time

Although finding the temping a bit difficult as I struggle to take temps at exactly same time each day. Work days it is 6:30am, non-work days is anything up to 7:30am. Do you reckon thsi can make such a huge differnce? Had a major drop in temp today - but I got up to go to the loo just before having misread the time, thinking it was way earlier than it was So annoyed with myself!

Geordie · 14/09/2004 21:02

Hulababy,

re- the temps...I think up to an hour shouldn't make a great difference...going to the loo will though!! Have you tried fertility friend- the website has a temperature corrector on it- that might help if you are worried about the temps affecting your chart. Generally I temp between 6.30- 7.15 and the website reckons that the time difference will not affect my chart!!

Anyway- Good luck you..I'm on cd 8 so just starting to bd every other day...that's what Robert Winston reckons (although we only bd once in the entire month when i fell pg with ds!).

Geordie

Hulababy · 14/09/2004 21:04

That's kind of the pattern we thought we'd go for for now. Although FF does suggest every 24-36 hours during the few days before ovulation I think, so once I have a better idea of my temps.

I will try the corrector for today. So annoyed about it - with myself! Need to get a clock at my side of the bed I think.

Geordie · 14/09/2004 21:09

lol every 24 hours..I'd be lucky dh can only manage 2 days in a row then fatigue sets in..low sex drive etc...every other day is all we can manage

Off to book an apointment with a reflexologist tommorrow...stressed out at work and not sleeping well...and maybe she'll tweek my ovaries a bit too!!

Geordie

Hulababy · 14/09/2004 21:16

LOL!

None of all this messing about helped my concieve quickly last time to be honest. Hence the attempt at temping and checking for the other signs - using FF. Maybe we were getting the timing wrong. Last time we read the advice that you should abstain for 3 or 4 days before the "right" time - I do now wonder (especially as DD's scan dates were earlier than mine) whether we were missing our chance????

krocket · 15/09/2004 08:10

AF here
I knew it as I had all the symptoms so not surprised but there is always a part of you that thinks maybe.
