Hello everyone!

Starting an April thread because I couldn't see one yet.

I'm 33 (for another week!)
TTC baby number 4
Cycle 3
CD 3
BFP due 11/04

AF is nearly over here, I'll actually be fertile when DP is off work this month which helps. If I get my BFP this month I'll be due in the middle of December.

I'm invoking Murphy's law this month. I'm bound to get a BFP the week before we go for a child free week's holiday right? Grin

@Pob13 I'm in the same boat. AF has arrived with a vengeance this morning I'm curled around a hot water bottle as we speak (very lucky to be working from home today!

@applesauce1 How interesting! Suppose it would then be easier to work out conception based on which time you dtd depending on which gender you end up with at the end :) Also yes, grapefruit juice is rank I'm not looking forward to it but....I'll try anything at least once! Your description of having it at a hotel has really tickled me!

@LP17 @Pob13 Same boat here lovelies! Came on yesterday after a 3 day traumatizing wait. And boy has AF come with a vengeance!

Due to ovulate whilst I'm away for my birthday so hoping that is a good omen 😊

@clairehr where do you get the grapefruit juice from, just from a regular supermarket?! I've never tried it. Do you think eating an actual grapefruit works just as well?!

Fingers crossed for BFPs for everyone... I'm pretty sure it won't be the case for me, can't see it happening like that after all the Gynae issues I've had!
Can always hope though! Ugh 3rd April feels like forever away!

@clairehr what cycle are you on? This is only our 3rd and I feel like I'm losing my mind. Potentially because we are also having an extension done and I want to sack our builder. Not ideal conditions.

Where are you going for your birthday? It's our 1st wedding anniversary next weekend just in time for the FW!

@Rach0110 Yes, just Tesco - Pink Grapefruit juice :) I'll try anything to be honest, haha! I have no idea if it works - only heard from the ladies here! Anything is worth a shot to have a littlun!

@LP17 Cycle 3 for us too this time around. Fell pregnant twice last year whilst trying, both ending in MC so tool a break to get my head clear and ready. Hoping for a sticky baby this time!

It's the TWW that kills me, just pure waiting, I'm not a very patient person so it's like torture, haha!

@LP17 Oh! And we're heading to Camber Sands for a few nights away (it's where we met). Where are you heading to?

My Nanna was very... superstitious I suppose... and always told me that if you get pregnant on a special day that the child will exude love for the rest of their lives. I know all children do this anyway, but it's keeping me going thinking of this and maybe why it hasn't happened for us yet!

@clairehr ahh sorry to hear about your MCs, fingers crossed for you this year. I really like your Nanna's take on it - it would be very special to conceive on a birthday or anniversary :)

We are heading back to Chester, which is where we got married. Going for a fancy dinner and all that...

@Clairehr - my eldest was conceived on my birthday and he is definitely my more affectionate child, there is not a day that goes by without him telling us he loves us and how beautiful I am! My youngest on the other hand is more sparing with the loving 😂

@Irwe Haha! Love this! OH has two little boys with his ex-wife; the eldest is very affectionate, the younger was conceived in times of angst and really struggles with empathy! There may well be truth in the old wives tales!

Lots of weekends away for people over Easter! I hope everyone has fun. We are going away too, but just at the end of FW.

Jumping DP is working well so far! Cervix is heading towards fertile position... I like this bit of TTC! Grin

I've read this from a couple of posters... @stegosauruslady how in the world do you know which direction your cervix is travelling towards?! I would be entirely unaware that I have a cervix if I hadn't seen the diagrams. I don't know what mine is up to at all. I feel so unqualified for this!

@applesauce1 there are some diagrams (I just googled it) which show cervical position vs time in cycle, including some guidance on what it should feel like at certain times. Assuming it will take a little while to get used to what's normal for you, but the cervix being high and soft (they suggest like your lips if they are pursed) is an indicator it is opening ready to let some swimmers through! When it is lower (in my case, easier to reach...just) and feels more like the top of your nose that is when AF is on it's way...

It took me a month or two to get the hang of it, but you can feel the difference if you check your cervix every day.

Straight after a period it will be low and hard, then it rises and gets softer, during ovulation it is very high, soft and open. After ovulation it closes, if you aren't pregnant it will get lower and harder, in early pregnancy it stays high and soft.

With my DD3, I knew I was pregnant before I could test on account of my cervix!

@stegosauruslady thats so interesting!! i tried to feel my cervix the other day tho and the feel of it creeps me out after seeing it on a screen during a colposcopy where my OH almost fainted hahaha.

im in my fertile week apparently now so enjoying dtd.. its a fun week lol
