April bus

Hello everyone!

Starting an April thread because I couldn't see one yet.

I'm 33 (for another week!)
TTC baby number 4
Cycle 3
CD 3
BFP due 11/04

AF is nearly over here, I'll actually be fertile when DP is off work this month which helps. If I get my BFP this month I'll be due in the middle of December.

I'm invoking Murphy's law this month. I'm bound to get a BFP the week before we go for a child free week's holiday right? Grin

@8DaysAWeek I stopped bf DS 3 weeks ago and my 1st AF made an appearance on Friday, I'd been hoping we'd catch the first egg too but actually just as happy to have AF show up so we can start properly ttc now rather than just randomly POAS. I got a positive opk 7 days before AF showed up so hoping that's not my new LP length and just because it's my body getting back to normal! Fx you manage to catch that 1st egg!

8DaysAWeek · 18/03/2018 19:26

@MrsY87 that's great to hear! Obviously for you I would rather you caught that egg but I'm happy to see that cycles can return quickly after stopping. Waiting around in limbo is so disheartening. What kind of tracking are you gonna do (temping/opks etc)?

I'm half expecting a short LP as a lot of what I have read suggests it's very common straight away but I think in most circumstances it lengthens quickly Smile

Pinklily1 · 18/03/2018 19:26

sodababy2, that would be brilliant, thanks - I've PM'd you.

I got pregnant in our first month of trying last time, but i worry that was just a fluke and it will not happen as quickly this time. I find the unknown of the whole TTC process stressful!

For those doing opk's - are you just using the cheapie strip ones or the all singing all dancing smiley face type? I'm tempted but they seem expensive!! (and i'm desperately trying to pretend that I'm not obsessing before we have even started TTC!!).

DaisyMay25 · 18/03/2018 19:30

@Pinklily1 when I use opks I use cheap ic ones off amazon, some people use clear blue ones as well and wait until they get a peak on ic then check on clearblue to keep price down

Fingers crossed you manage to time it well then. Unsure if I'm going to go back to opks once the trial is over because I think the more I do the more I get stressed and disappointed when Af arrives

Pinklily1 · 18/03/2018 19:32

I've seen a few posts about the Clear Blue trial - out of interest what does it involve?

sodababy2 · 18/03/2018 19:34

That's what I do @DaisyMay25 / @Pinklily1 - I've found the cheap ones work fine for me and I check whether they're accurate with the more expensive ones.

winterwarmers · 18/03/2018 19:39

hoping on as i'm sure af will be on the way tommorow morning

cycle 4
ttc no 2

bfp due 18th April

MrsM2017 · 18/03/2018 19:46

@Pinklily1 the trial is for their ovulation kits - if you're eligible you either get assigned (at random) to the control group or the active group. The active group use the ovulation test for up to two cycles and the control group (which I am in) are asked not to use anything for two cycles. Ive only just begun but as I understand you have to submit a couple of urine samples and pregnancy tests whilst in the study.
At the end you get rewarded with £100 love to shop vouchers and if you were part of the control group you also get two cycles worth of the ovulation product 🙂

Pinklily1 · 18/03/2018 19:59

That's interesting Mrs, I just wondered as i've seen it mentioned and wasn't sure what it involved.

I think i'll try and do without OPK's for now and see how we go, but using the cheapies mostly and then the other ones selectively seems like a good idea.

DaisyMay25 · 18/03/2018 20:10

@Pinklily1 without opks I just dtd every other days starting CD8 for two weeks although last night I was far too tired. I think every three days is fine too though. I don't know how some people manage everyday

MrsY87 · 18/03/2018 20:10

@8DaysAWeek think I'm just going to do opks, I temped when we were ttc DS but he's not yet sleeping reliably enough for me to temp!! Yes I feel much happier that AF has arrived than being in limbo, I'd read about how sometimes you don't ov before your 1st period post bf as a sort of warning period, obviously not the same for everyone though. Interesting about the short LP initially, hopefully it settles & lengthens quickly!

Pinklily1 · 18/03/2018 20:15

God, I definitely wouldn't be up for every day Shock Grin. I need to sleep!!

ronniemipperton · 18/03/2018 22:18

Joining this bus despite my body being totally baffling - had a 50 day cycle last month but have just had some ewcm on cd12. No temp change though. Ho hum.

Age 32
Ttc 1
Cycle 4 (though after years of no cycles - recovering from hypothalamic amenorrhea)
BFP/AF due: anyone’s guess...

stegosauruslady · 19/03/2018 08:15

Welcome ronniemipperton!

Good morning everyone! CD 6 here, feeling pretty geared up at the moment...plan is to jump DP every possible moment for the next week and a half. He can rest after that. I have my sexy pants at the ready and its my birthday in the middle of that too!

I'm not doing OPKs or temping. I'm a cervix checker, there is no way I would be organised enough to temp. I'll try OPKs if we hit six cycles without a BFP though.

@stegosauruslady you sound like a woman on a mission!

I'm on CD14 and no sign of ovulation, didn't ovulate until CD 18 last month then AF came just six days after.

Anyone else in their FW?

EverythingNow · 19/03/2018 09:25

@DaisyMay25 I’m coming to the end of my FW. Had a positive opk yesterday (cd13) we’ve dtd so far (in the window) on cd 10,11 and 13. Will try and get one more in tonight!

EverythingNow · 19/03/2018 09:27

@stegosauruslady I have the thermometer but I am useless at remembering to use it! I quite like opks though as it feeds the poas addiction!

Patienceofatoddler · 19/03/2018 09:51

Frustratingly joining this bus.

TTC No 3
7th cycle
1 Miscarriage
Only on CD4

We are going to try using ovulation strips this month to give greater visibility of when I ovulate and to help feel I'm at least doing 'something'.

Best of luck to everyone awaiting your BFP.

lrwe · 19/03/2018 10:18

Jumping on board (crossly, damn AF hormones)

TTC#3
Cycle 4
CD1
My BFP is due 21/04

Looking at the silver linings and the positives at the moment - and ordereing digi opk to get the definite answer on O day!

Gudgyx · 19/03/2018 10:55

Hi all, I'm back!

I joined the bus last August, stopped posting through around October/November as I felt posting here was just making me more aware we were trying and not getting anywhere.

So on cycle 8 now I think
CD 20 according to Ovia
TTC#2

I've been like a woman possessed the past week, jumping on DP every chance I got. No idea why, my sex drive has just really increased recently. I'm not being too hopeful, but I'm peeing like a bloody horse today too. (Just had to stop mid writing this for another toilet break, my 5th of today so far.)

We're in the last chance saloon these next few months. I've been told by my surgeon if I don't get pregnant before my next appointment he's starting to arrange my next surgery, a proctectomy, which will make it difficult if not impossible to get pregnant again. I'd need IVF, which I'm not prepared to do. It's difficult enough this time, I have scar tissue and hernias and a stoma bag.

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 19/03/2018 15:14

Hi everyone Id love to join as just got AF this morning putting me firmly into the April bus!

Age:27
TTC: #1
Cycle: 4

I have been on varying types of BC for 9 years which stopped my AF for the past 7y. Had the coil removed in December and this month starting to temp and OPK.

So grateful to you all for posting and keeping spirits up for so many people who watch for ages before speaking up! Xxx

polkadotjersey · 19/03/2018 16:59

Hi all,

Joining a bus for the first time if you'll have me and looking forward to having people to chat to Smile

Age: 31
TTC: #1
Cycle: 1
CD: 1
AF due: 15th April

It's our first cycle of trying but I'm not the kind of person to just relax and let things happen! I've been tracking my cycle with the Natural Cycles app since I had the Mirena removed in January and it seems to be back to what I remember from many years ago when I was last hormonal contraception-free. We're taking the Pregnacare Him and Her vits, bought some Pre-Seed and planning to try the SMEP method and see where that gets us! Good luck to everyone.

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 19/03/2018 17:26

Wow Polkadot loving your organisation! Also planning SPEM this month so FX!

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 19/03/2018 17:27

*SMEP

polkadotjersey · 19/03/2018 18:24

Ha Goldilocks it's the teacher in me coming out! My husband is so bemused by the SMEP idea. His preferred strategy would be just to DTD every single day until I'm pregnant!
