April bus

Hello everyone!

Starting an April thread because I couldn't see one yet.

I'm 33 (for another week!)
TTC baby number 4
Cycle 3
CD 3
BFP due 11/04

AF is nearly over here, I'll actually be fertile when DP is off work this month which helps. If I get my BFP this month I'll be due in the middle of December.

I'm invoking Murphy's law this month. I'm bound to get a BFP the week before we go for a child free week's holiday right? Grin

Nice to meet you all, I'm in

TTC No 1, C1
Age 37 (how did that happen 🤔)

We will be at it like rabbits next week. I doubt he'll complain.......

On pre-preg vits and will be trying to drink lots and lots of water. That's about it.

stegosauruslady · 17/03/2018 10:48

Morning!

I didn't expect this bus to be so busy...I thought more people would be trying to avoid December babies! We already have one December baby, so it is going to be an expensive month for us if we get a BFP this month.

Chel1888 · 17/03/2018 10:52

Iv started taking the seven seas vits seemed to be the most recommended.
TMI but does anyone else get itchy down there after dtd? I used to go straight to the toilet after when on the pill but now I’m off the pill trying to keep it all in (lol) I become itchy after a while! 🤔 it’s not very comfortable.

EverythingNow · 17/03/2018 11:23

@stegosauruslady we have two November babies, so would be an even more expensive time of year but just want any baby! That said I’ve just looked up what date Id be due, and given that each of mine has been two weeks late, if we are lucky this month it could be an actual Christmas birthday -eek!

@chel1888, I suffer from recurring uti so I have to get up straight away and wee anyway, so I don’t really know about itchy.

@stellarfox, I use Ovia and Glow apps, because I can’t decide between them! I take folic acid and when I remember ubiquinol. I use opk, but I struggle to do them when I’m working, I have a bbt thermometer but i always forget to use it Blush given my age and that we’re on cycle 10 I should probably try harder really!

MrsM2017 · 17/03/2018 13:39

I've been taking folic acid for a few months and have been using Flo to track my cycles. Tried using some cheapie opks last month but not sure I got the hang of it?!
This cycle I'm part of the clear blue clinical trial and I'm in the control arm part of the study group so not allowed to use opks for the moembt.

To try and help us this time hubby and I are both taking the Pregnacare multivitamins (his and hers) and we'll be trying preseed too. Other than that it will just be baby dancing as much as possible around my fertile week 🙂

trippingoverrainbows · 17/03/2018 16:11

@stegosauruslady I didn't even consider the Dec due date until you mentioned it.

Is the birth month of a potential baby something everyone considers before TTC?

At this stage I would be happy with any healthy baby in any month (the sooner the better) 💕

snowbrigade · 17/03/2018 16:23

@trippingoverrainbows I too just want a baby! Feel like I cannot afford to get fussy over months and would just regret missed opportunities to try

FrowningFlamingo · 17/03/2018 17:24

We had to have a break from TTC due to illness (our 6 cycles are not sequential) and waisted an extra month to aim for a September baby not an August one. But wouldn't have bothered to wait if it was more than a month. And we aren't bothered about a Christmas baby etc.

stegosauruslady · 17/03/2018 17:29

@trippingoverrainbows and @snowbrigade me too.

It helps that one of my friends' DC is a Christmas baby...they have her party between Christmas and New Year and it is always lovely! Everyone is relaxed, lots of people are off work and the grown ups all have a couple of drinks. I think its a nice time of the year to have a birthday.

DD3 (6) is early December, so at the moment, no Christmas can occur until after her birthday. It works fine!

OP posts:
stellarfox · 17/03/2018 17:34

@stegosauruslady we thought about it being a Christmas baby but like previous posters we would still rather have a baby on the way than wait!

MrsY87 · 17/03/2018 18:59

Hello! Can I join! We are ttc#3, DD is 3.5yrs & DS is 6m. DD was conceived 1st month, DS took 10 cycles & 2mcs so I've no idea how long it will take this time.

1st AF post birth showed up yesterday so calling this my 1st cycle although we've not used any contraception since DS was born. Will prob test mid April but going to use opks to gauge it given I have no idea how long my cycles are going to be! Fx it's a lucky bus & we all get our Xmas babies Smile

Stephisaur · 18/03/2018 10:13

Morning all :)

Hopping on the April bus as AF has reared her ugly head this morning, following a few days of spotting :/ wouldn’t be as annoying if I hadn’t tested about 3 hours before she arrived!

I’m 26, TTC #1, cycle 2 :)

8DaysAWeek · 18/03/2018 10:14

Hopping on this bus!

Age: 28
TTC #2; DS 19 months
Cycle 1*
AF due 01/04

**Although technically cycle 1, I've been trying for 6 months to "catch the first egg" while BFing DS. Haven't had a period in 28 months so fully expecting them to be all over the place and likely have a short LP.

Had an abundance of ewcm the last 4 days and my first ever positive opk yesterday (after 6 months of daily testing all for nothing you can imagine my excitement).

stegosauruslady · 18/03/2018 11:21

8daysaweek Ace, I caught with DD2 and DD3 as soon as I started having lots of EWCM (I breastfed for bloody ages), I hope this is your month!

AF is gone here, so I'm looking forward to lots of shagging for my birthday week. Grin

I'm trying to use this TTC time to super charge my fitness and lose a bit more weight (I'm at the top end of a healthy weight, so could stand to lose half a stone). The original hope was that all the running would help me to avoid the TWW madness, however, I'm obsessing. I guess healthy and obsessing is still better though?

How is everyone feeling this weekend? Snow babies for all?!

Ilovemypyjamas · 18/03/2018 11:57

Hello everyone, can I join too please?

Age: 30
TTC #2 (dd is 22 months)
Cycle day 6
Cycle #1
BFP due 8th April

Just finishing my period just now..... so will be starting to try in the next week. I'm taking folic acid, using the Ovia app and will be trying to eat more healthily.....

Good luck everyone!

EverythingNow · 18/03/2018 12:19

I had the most positive opk I’ve ever seen today (cd13) so fingers crossed dh stays awake later 😂.

Good luck everyone x

sodababy2 · 18/03/2018 12:34

Hello all,

Popping over to join you after a visit from AF today.

I'm 35 and TTC #2. DC1 is 18 months.
This is cycle 8 now 😡 Had m/c in February so this will be cycle 2 since then. Was really hoping the 'super fertile after miscarriage' myth would help me last month but not to be!

Anyway.... CD1 today so expecting AF / BFP around April 16th.

Hello to familiar names from previous buses.
@Pinklily1 waves frantically! I think we were on a grads thread together with our first DCs? I had a different but similar username.... How are you?

peaches1991 · 18/03/2018 17:32

@daisymay25 @mrsm2017 hello! I think actually it's almost relief not using OPKs - maybe I should get myself over on the JSing thread... I'm still on my first cycle, what about you?

Pinklily1 · 18/03/2018 17:51

Eeek sodababy2, hi!! We are really well thanks, DD1 is now 18 months and just come off the pill in readiness to try for no. 2.

I’m so sorry to read about your miscarriage. Hope you are doing ok in the circumstances. I can’t remember, how long did it take you to TTC DC1?

I saw DrWhy on another thread last week, and I’ve seen Mileymoocow on a few too. I’m not surprised we are all thinking about a second now!!

Hope everyone is well.

Pinklily1 · 18/03/2018 17:55

Everything, is your DH doesn’t stay awake, you’ll just have to give him a good prod! Grin

DaisyMay25 · 18/03/2018 17:59

@peaches1991 I know what you mean, a lot less pressure without peeing on everything sore, I'm on cycle two now, just in my FW thankfully.
What about you @MrsM2017

MrsM2017 · 18/03/2018 18:13

Hi @peaches1991 and @DaisyMay25 - thought I recognized some names! 🙂

This is our third cycle actively TTC (first cycle as part of the clear blue trail). Know what you mean about not having to worry about using the opks though!

Hoping something may happen but dh is away for work mon-fri for the next couple of months and only a handful of the weekends fall during my fw, so fingers crossed!

sodababy2 · 18/03/2018 18:14

Hi @Pinklily1 Grin Miley is well - we moved over to Facebook and now chat on whatsapp and meet in real life - there's a bunch of us! My DD is 18 months too - I remember we were close together. It took about 9 cycles with her so I didn't expect it to happen quickly - I still hoped though! We started TTC as soon as periods returned after BF as worried it might take a while. How long did it take you with your first?

sodababy2 · 18/03/2018 18:16

Meant to say - feel free to pop into FB / join whatsapp @Pinklily1 . Didn't mean to sound rude not offering! Drop me a PM if you want the details

8DaysAWeek · 18/03/2018 18:19

Thanks @stegosauruslady Grin I forgot to add I decided to wean DS completely 2 weeks ago as nothing was happening, even on one or two feeds a day. Was a tough decision but I'm glad of it now as things are starting to gear up. After my positive opk yesterday I had a couple of negatives then another pos today. I think my body's trying to ovulate but not quite hitting the mark. No big worries though, I'd obviously love a bfp but tbh I'd take AF at the moment if it meant I could start tracking properly.

I think we must all have obsessive personalities in general!? Don't do anything by halves whether it's ttc or getting fit! I've barely done any exercise since DS was born (other than a brief over-enthusiastic buggy fitness class 7 weeks pp where I totally underestimated how long it would take to return to pre-pregnancy fitness!!)
