Hello everyone!

Starting an April thread because I couldn't see one yet.

I'm 33 (for another week!)
TTC baby number 4
Cycle 3
CD 3
BFP due 11/04

AF is nearly over here, I'll actually be fertile when DP is off work this month which helps. If I get my BFP this month I'll be due in the middle of December.

I'm invoking Murphy's law this month. I'm bound to get a BFP the week before we go for a child free week's holiday right? Grin

Hi guys, thanks for the welcome.
How often are you guys DTD? Cos I'm not sure were doing it enough tbh. I'm using opks (just the cheap ones) and this month we did it three days in a row (a day before ovulation, on the day and also the day after). Prior to the three days though we only dtd one other time in the fertile week so not sure if we should be doing it every single day in that week or?

Also are the opks for predicting when ovulation is about to start or do they tell you just when you're ovulating? I still don't really get them ha ha, maybe cos I'm just using the cheapo ones from China where it has to as strong as the test line for it to be positive.

Morning fellow crazies! Is anyone POAS today? Any symptom spotting?

Welcome to the madness @TryingForAges Me and my boyfriend dtd all the time, but we tend to step it up a notch during fw.

I have stopped my AF cramping now, very emotional though so I’m sure she’s on her way. Due on Tuesday. I just want her to come and go now so we can start trying again. Really trying not to POAS as a bfn is so depressing! Plus I still try to convince myself that there is still hope even when I don’t get a line.

LP17 · 15/04/2018 09:06

@BabyBeany I think AF might be arriving early for me, likely sometime today based on how I felt yesterday. Very frustrating I just want to know for sure but don't want to POAS and get a BFN.

@TryingForAges this month we followed SMEP (Google it) during the fertile week. For the rest of the month we go with the flow. OPKs tell you when you are having a hormone surge that triggers ovulation, but they don't guarantee that you've ovulated - best to do one in the morning and one in the afternoon to try and pinpoint it if you can.

Babybeany · 15/04/2018 09:15

@LP17 stay strong! We can do this! X

xLauraa · 15/04/2018 09:41

@LookingAtTheStars89 well if anyone knows our body's it's us, right? You've done right to go straight there, I don't know why people hold off tbh! Regardless of TTC, our health and bodies are the most important imo!

Well that's a positive then about his sperm!! Sorry if you've already said but, can he be treated too?

Ah that's interesting to know! I may look at Prague if we have to go down that line and can't get funding! Yes I do know what they're like 😂😂 xx

@TryingForAges the sore boob symptom is the absolute worst 😒 I get it every month pre AF!

helbel42 · 15/04/2018 10:01

Morning all. 6dpo today according to natural cycles and 7 dpo according to glow, still aiming for testing on weds even though it's a bit early. Symptom wise, still have sore boobs and very mild left side twinges. Who else is weds testing? I lost track a bit but would be good to have some poas buddies!

Welcome @TryingForAges and @waitingforbubbles!

X

Whoops, sorry for double post, it said the first one had failed! x

waitingforbubbles · 15/04/2018 10:10

@helbel42 I'm 5 (or maybe 4) DPO so just behind you and not sure when to test! Do you think Thursday would be too early? That would be four days before AF due but I really don't want to keep having false hope if I test too early (or waste tests!)

TryingForAges · 15/04/2018 10:20

@LP17 Thanks for that info! Have looked into that SMEP and will def try that method.

@helbel42 I'm going to try and not test til AF is due on 23rd but will prob cave and test before if I get any 'symptoms'. Felt so let down last month with sore boobs and hungry all the time that I was sure i was pregnant. Turns out I'm just a greedy cow with a period. CakeBlush
I'm too chicken to poas and see a negative basically. Then thinking well maybe it was too early etc. Just can't face it this month so will hopefully just wait it out.

polkadotjersey · 15/04/2018 10:37

@helbel42 I'm using Natural Cycles too and now obsessively checking my graph (11dpo) to see if it looks promising or not. AF is due on Tuesday so going to try to hold off testing till at least Wednesday. I had twinges at 7dpo too so fingers crossed it's a good sign!

xLauraa · 15/04/2018 10:39

@helbel42 my posts keep doing that too!

Eyedontknow · 15/04/2018 10:49

Welcome new people!

@Boboelephant My longest cycle has been 47 days I think, so if it's longer than that and no AF I will retest (Thurs/Fri). Feeling more and more like AF is coming though.

Is there anything to do to encourage your body to have shorter cycles? 40+ days seems to be my normal now.

helbel42 · 15/04/2018 10:55

@waitingforbubbles and @TryingForAges I'd wait until af is due then ladies. I'm just so bloody impatient I can't do it, waiting till weds is going to be a stretch for me even though it's early .... the days where I don't pee on ov or pg sticks are torture, like the feel like I'm doing something silly as it sounds! x

helbel42 · 15/04/2018 10:58

@polkadotjersey I must check that graph 15 times a day, I'm obsessed with it even though I don't really know what it all means!! You're doing well hanging on till Weds, all crossable things crossed for you! x

helbel42 · 15/04/2018 10:58

@xLauraa glad it's not just picking on me then! x

helbel42 · 15/04/2018 11:04

How long have people waited before going to the docs to get everything checked? I'm 33 and hubby is 44 ttc no1, my mum had 2 mc's and 4 years of trying before me and then was so ill they told her it was too dangerous to have anymore. I don't know if any of that might get them to check things out earlier than usual? We've only been trying since Jan but I am worried and don't want to lose time if there is something we should be dealing with x

waitingforbubbles · 15/04/2018 11:21

@helbel42 thank you- I think I will try and wait but will probably end up testing on Friday as curiosity will get the better of me!! Best of luck for Wednesday!
So glad I found these threads as at least I don't feel crazy on my own!!

clairehr · 15/04/2018 11:29

15dpo. No AF. Just cramps. BFN.

Why is my body doing this to me every cycle since we started trying?! 😂 never used to be late!

italianwifey · 15/04/2018 11:31

@clairehr when did u last test? Fingers crossed for you!!!

italianwifey · 15/04/2018 11:33

@helbel42 I reckon it's too soon to worry, but my friend once advised me that if you are worried you can always go and say you've been trying longer than you have....

However I reckon if everything else all good with your cycle then just don't lose faith and keep going! Fingers crossed for you :-)

helbel42 · 15/04/2018 11:34

Thanks @waitingforbubbles best of luck to you too!! Yes, it helps to be among like minded people, I daren't share the full extent of the crazy outside of here! x

helbel42 · 15/04/2018 11:39

Thank you @italianwifey you're probably right! I'll be 34 in sept so might try and wait till then if nothings happened, then it will have been 9 months and fibbing that it's been a year won't be too much of a stretch!

@clairehr my body did exactly the same to me, I had 8 lovely regular months on natural cycles and then we started trying and it all went haywire. My luteal phase has been crazy long the last two cycles which is torture and leads to many days of seeing a bfn! x
