Hello everyone!

Starting an April thread because I couldn't see one yet.

I'm 33 (for another week!)
TTC baby number 4
Cycle 3
CD 3
BFP due 11/04

AF is nearly over here, I'll actually be fertile when DP is off work this month which helps. If I get my BFP this month I'll be due in the middle of December.

I'm invoking Murphy's law this month. I'm bound to get a BFP the week before we go for a child free week's holiday right? Grin

@Babybeany so sorry you have AF cramping this morning. Sending love your way. You're not out until it definitely shows up though. Sorry to hear about your loss too, we had a mc this year and it's heartbreaking. I feel exactly the same as you re the pill. I'm kicking myself I didn't come off it sooner, I feel really stupid for being so naive. Fingers crossed for you x

FrowningFlamingo · 14/04/2018 09:43

I am STILL spotting. I get about four days of spotting before AF and it's so hard not to convince myself that I could still be pregnant. Due for full flow later today or more likely tomorrow. I just want it to start properly so it can be over with and we can try again! We are going into cycle seven now and I'd been clinging to the 85% in 6m statistic so I'm feeling a bit despondent to be honest.
Went to boots last night and bought preseed (the big tube) and also some 'fertility gel' in applicators as I was too embarrassed to read the pack in the shop and didn't realise it came with applicators!
We'd agreed 6m of just regular DTD and being reasonably chilled about it but that now we will step up a gear hence the preseed. If nothing happens this month I will get a clear blue monitor thingy.

hayleyfx · 14/04/2018 10:18

@Sammy900 aww no sorry!! It might just be too early. I’ll continue to keep everything crossed for you Smile
@FrowningFlamingo sorry! It’s so rubbish. I really hope it happens soon for you, if not this one then fingers crossed for next cycle! I’m going to give preseed (or something similar) a try next month too, hopefully it has good results for us! Grin

bubblybrit · 14/04/2018 11:10

@hayleyfx. Definitely keeping my fingers crossed that May is our month xx

Babybeany · 14/04/2018 11:42

@FrowningFlamingo I know nothing about preseed. We have been trying for 8 months now and like you I relied on the 85% 6 month stat too. Getting more despondent as time goes on and on. I spoke to my go about the correct thermometer to use to check my temperature and she wouldn’t tell me. Which just stressed me out even more! What is Preseed all about? X

Alex2790 · 14/04/2018 11:43

Af due monday 🤞🏻 Really want a baby this year. No pregnancy or af symptoms although been a bit more emotional last 2 week i never really cry but keep crying about things that would never usually make me cry lol like at movies only movie i have ever cried about is the notebook. But seen two movies recently at the cinema nearly cried and when my bf been in a mood made me cry when usually im just like whatever and ignore him x

Owlpatrol · 14/04/2018 11:48

Hi ladies hooe everyone doing well....ive been feeling a bit emotional this month I'm trying to stay positive but I don't think I've ovulated. I'm not out I know that though! Af due around the 27th so shall see. I've had some mild cramps today I'm about 6dpo if I indeed ovulate!

Babybeany · 14/04/2018 11:54

GP not go

xLauraa · 14/04/2018 12:22

@LookingAtTheStars89 ah yeah, I've read up about that as I wanted a bit of knowledge before going to the clinic so they aren't throwing terms at me I don't understand😂
29 is still too young 😣 it's so rubbish! I'm glad we've got each other 😁💕
Thank you so much. I feel lucky to be at the stage I'm at after only 6months so I have to be thankful for that!
Yeah DP says "if it's just the count that's low we will be ok"! So fingers crossed!

How does your DO feel about Prague? Is he on the same page as you?

LookingAtTheStars89 · 14/04/2018 13:34

@xLauraa. Ahh thanks. It is nice to have people you can relate to :-) We are a year in. :-/ I know that's not as far as some people bit I knew there was something wrong right from after the miscarriage, my body just didn't feel the same or my moods.

I was gobsmacked about DHs sperm though. We got unlucky with it being morphology being the problem but the GP said that because he has a high count then it's not the end of the world.

I think at first he didn't like the idea of IVF but now that he's seen how long it's taken and our circumstances not being ideal, he's ok with it. It's cheaper in Prague too and you know what men are like with money lol x

FrowningFlamingo · 14/04/2018 13:51

Thanks hayley and bubblybrit. AF has now properly arrived which to be honest has made me feel a bit better.
Preseed is basically a sperm friendly lubricant. It mimics cervical mucous and helps the sperm travel to the right place. Or so they say! We had been using normal lube if we wanted it but apparently that can slow them down!
I can't Imagine the type of thermometer would matter too much as long as you use the same one every time? It's about the trend rather than the temperature itself I thought - though I don't know a great deal about it.

polkadotjersey · 14/04/2018 14:24

Hi all,

I've not been around as I thought it would help take my mind off the TWW... it didn't work! Congratulations to those with BFPs and hugs to those who've had an unwelcome visitor.

AF is due on Tuesday according to Natural Cycles, so I'll mainly be spending the weekend over-analysing my temperature graph, scrutinising my cervix and avoiding any shops that sell pregnancy tests! The plan is currently to test on Wednesday if AF hasn't shown up.

@babybeany The thermometer just needs to measure your basal body temperature to two decimal places as the temperature shifts are actually quite small. My temp has only ranged from 35.89 to 36.90 degrees but it you can still clearly see where it's gone up post-ovulation.

Babybeany · 14/04/2018 14:39

@polkadotjersey thank you. I think my gp was trying to make me less obsessed by not telling me what to do/buy. Instead it just made me angry that she wouldn’t help or advise. I am due AF on Tuesday too so keeping fx for both of us and @PassTheAfterEights although I’m pretty sure I’m out this month x

HoneyCake86 · 14/04/2018 20:10

@owlpatrol just went searching for your update re the docs. Cant believe about the IVF thing, thats so unfair! However i have my fingers tightly crossed for you. Its been a long time coming i think i’ll die with excitement when you finally get your turn. Same with stars and all the other well-deserving ladies on here. Thinking of you! Best of luck and baby dust to you all Flowers💖

Pob13 · 14/04/2018 20:39

5ish days until testing. Today I have had hayfever tablets and am drinking wine. Such fun

Owlpatrol · 14/04/2018 21:09

@HoneyCake86 same here and thank you I'm so glad to have all you lovely ladies getting me through. I'm ok about it ish now....gin is getting me through tonight. Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend l treated myself got my nails done and chilled all afternoon in the garden Smile

Eyedontknow · 14/04/2018 21:24

@Boboelephant
When I got the bfn I was about 15dpo from predicted ovulation, which makes me think it is a true bfn. But still no AF, lots of CM, and boobs finally hurt.

I had a pain the night before I tested and when I googled it, someone had posted the exact pain and location that I had and they ended up being pregnant. Getting my hopes up.

clairehr · 14/04/2018 22:31

AF a no show today, but cramps and back ache today suggest she's just travelling!

I feel like I read somewhere that taking specific conception vitamins could affect your cycle in different ways, but I since can't find it. Has anyone else heard of this? Or was it a dream I had?! 😂

LP17 · 14/04/2018 23:31

@clairehr No I'm sure I've seen someone suggest that pregnacare affected their cycle???Hmm

helbel42 · 15/04/2018 00:29

I took pregnacare for a month and had a long cycle, convinced I was pregnant but af showed up nearly 2 weeks late. Switched to folic acid with b6 and pretty much back to normal. It's not much to go on as could have just been an odd month but didn't want to do anything to mess with my cycle so I stopped them

trippingoverrainbows · 15/04/2018 01:21

There haven't been many BFPs on this thread, hoping the last two weeks will be where those still waiting get the news they hope for 💕
I'm now on CD32 after ERPC and no bfp and no af, hoping that it's just too early to test so praying for good news as I would have expected some hint of af by now surely?!? Wishful thinking most likely

waitingforbubbles · 15/04/2018 01:22

Hello, brand new on mumsnet and to the whole TTC thing so hoping it’s okay for me to join here! I’m in my first ever two week wait and getting a bit obsessed already so it doesn’t bode well for the future... staying up late to read mumsnet - oops.

I'm 26 (nearly 27)
TTC baby number 1
Cycle 1 (but been waiting ‘for the right time’ to start since Jan so been doing a lot of reading since then)
CD 19
AF due 23 April

I’ve been using natural cycles and I caught a LH surge on 10/04. Natural cycles thinks I ovulated the next day. Does anyone have any recommendations on when I should start testing? My average cycle is 27 days. DH says I should wait for AF but I’m so impatient I know that will never happen.

Thanks in advance for advice :) x

TryingForAges · 15/04/2018 01:36

Hi all

Have just joined Mumsnet so hello!

A bit about me:
TTC #1
AGE 28
Been trying for nearly 18 mths (have had a blood test to say I'm ovulating when I should be so at this moment doc says to keep trying - like I'm not already!!)

Currently 4dpo so waiting to test for another 10 days or so..

Last month i was sure i was preggo as I had REALLY sore boobs & nips (which I never do normally before af). But sure enough af arrived like the b*tch she is lol. So I've learnt not to rely on the sore boobs symptom now!!

HidCat · 15/04/2018 07:34

@waitingforbubbles and @TryingForAges hope things move quickly for you.

Had a positive opk yesterday so about to enter the TWW with AF due 30th / 1st May. First cycle since MC so not sure how this is going to go but at least everything is moving in the right direction.

Boboelephant · 15/04/2018 07:41

@Eyedontknow sounds promising. Are you going to test again?
Welcome to @waitingforbubbles and @TryingForAges
