Hello everyone!

Starting an April thread because I couldn't see one yet.

I'm 33 (for another week!)
TTC baby number 4
Cycle 3
CD 3
BFP due 11/04

AF is nearly over here, I'll actually be fertile when DP is off work this month which helps. If I get my BFP this month I'll be due in the middle of December.

I'm invoking Murphy's law this month. I'm bound to get a BFP the week before we go for a child free week's holiday right? Grin

huge hug @bubblybrit feel the same re 33 & TTC#1. It will happen for you, you know that already I realise but hang onto it through the time your DH is away and try to enjoy your birthday all the same - the next one might look really different xx

silverpenguin · 11/04/2018 18:28

Hi everyone, am I too late to join? I'm just coming to the end of AF so won't be testing until May. Going to start TTC this month though.

I'm TTC #2 (already have DD who is 2), age 32. Last time round it took about four months - got pregnant first month but miscarried, then got pregnant again a couple of months after that.

helbel42 · 11/04/2018 18:30

Also 33 and ttc no1, can almost year the tick tick of my biological clock and am putting pressure on myself when in reality there no reason to think it's not going to happen! x

Owlpatrol · 11/04/2018 18:32

@bubblybrit sending big hugs hun. This won't make you feel any better but so you know we're in the same boat....got a baby bomb today from a girl who said she is expecting 3rd and she's 28! I was very mardy about the whole thing. Of course she's also a perfect stay at home mum who somehow just gets pregnant after baby #2 only a few months I'm! Argh Angry

Sammy900 · 11/04/2018 18:51

Sorry to hear about the wicked witch for some of you :(

...any other news symptom spotters? - I'm the same as yesterday really....my body still feels like af could show any minute but I'm trying to block it out and pretend its not happening lalalalala

LookingAtTheStars89 · 11/04/2018 18:55

@Owlpatrol. Keep your chin up lovely! Why don't you come over to the yam thread with me? It's for long time ttc'ers. You never know, you might find it useful :-)

@bubblybrit Sorry for the bfn! It doesn't necessarily mean you're out though x x

Owlpatrol · 11/04/2018 19:00

@LookingAtTheStars89 oh yeah was thinking of that I'll hop over soon go join the clan x

bubblybrit · 11/04/2018 19:11

@LookingAtTheStars89. I just thought that it would have been positive by now given that af due today but no sign yet? Think I’m getting af signs this now this so kinda expected it to show soon! X

FrowningFlamingo · 11/04/2018 19:14

bubblybrit I know what you mean, I had my 30th birthday meal with my parents and in laws last month and was really hoping we could announce them then but it was not to be :(

I've had the fastest trace of spotting today (CD25) and don't have any symptoms at all so I'm pretty sure I'm out. Onwards to cycle seven I guess...

bubblybrit · 11/04/2018 19:21

@FrowningFlamingo. It’s so frustrating isn’t it! I kinda regret putting my career first for the last few years. I naively thought it would have happened quite quickly. I guess 5 cycles isn’t that long but still annoying nonetheless. Fx for next month and happy belated birthday x

FrowningFlamingo · 11/04/2018 19:24

Yes, me too. I wanted to be fully qualified before we TTC'd but my training is 5 years post uni.
I would have really struggled with the stresses of training with a baby though so I'm still sure it was the right choice really.

bubblybrit · 11/04/2018 19:33

Yeah I’m sure it’s the right decision with the length of training required. I’ve worked my way up through my company and have had to sit various exams in addition to my degree in order to be in the position I’m in now. Financially DH and I are in a really good place but just want our own wee family more than anything else now.

hayleyfx · 11/04/2018 20:17

@Sammy900 strangely enough I’m also having EWCM continue like you are!! I’m 2dpo and light cramps and some EWCM, it’s hard not to get my hopes up when I went through this with my last pregnancy! Fingers crossed it’s a good sign for us both 🤞
Sorry to everyone who has had af arrive Sad hopefully there’s some better luck next cycle for you all!

Spottyyellowdress · 11/04/2018 20:23

@owlpatrol I had a very similar baby announcement today...a girl who I work with 28 with three kids already (literally JUST had twins...not even bloody back from maternity leave yet) is having another one. Just doesn’t seem fair does it?!? 9 months of f all over here!

Anyway. Rant over.

bubblybrit · 11/04/2018 20:28

@PassTheAfterEights. At least I can indulge in a cocktail or two on my birthday! 🍸 that’s what DH said.....enjoy your last (hopefully) quiet birthday as it could be mayhem next year! Xx

@Owlpatrol. Yeah it’s so difficult. My colleagues wife has accidentally fallen pregnant with her second whilst bf her first. I had to hid the envy and smile and say ‘what great news’ xx

bubblybrit · 11/04/2018 20:31

@helbel42. Yeah I feel the same....DH is a little older than me..he is 40 in December....think we are both putting too much pressure on ourselves. Plus both sets of parents are dying to become grandparents and keep dropping hints! X

Eyedontknow · 11/04/2018 20:31

Was feeling hopeful this morning, but since this afternoon I've been irritable, emotional and crampy. I don't have any other of my typical pre-AF symptoms (spots, breast tenderness, dry), but given the standard attitude change, AF will probably make an appearance in the next 24 hours.

Here's to hoping my irritability is due to a few sleepless nights rather than hormones.

Eyedontknow · 11/04/2018 20:36

@bubblybrit same with me re parents. My mum keeps sending me pictures of her holding various friends' grandchildren captioned "I want one". (side note: why is there no eye-roll emoji on here?)

helbel42 · 11/04/2018 20:42

@bubblybrit yeah my dh is 44 although he's of the if it happens, it happens persuasion! I'm more crazy chart everything, pee on everything and worry about everything! x

bubblybrit · 11/04/2018 20:43

@Eyedontknow. We have 2 cats and my mums favourite saying is ‘you know I love x and y to bits but would love to be a Grandma to a baby that doesn’t have fur!’ I just feel that af is on her way...kinda wish that she would just show up so that I could feel sorry for myself for a bit, pick myself up and then can back on it for May x

bubblybrit · 11/04/2018 20:45

@helbel42. My DH is just as impatient as me so that probably doesn’t help! X

Kentishgal · 11/04/2018 21:12

I haven't been on here this month as been a bit frantic at work - owlpatrol I saw your post about the doctors - that is absolutely ridiculous about the ivf thing, hopefully you'll have good news before then anyhow. As for doing the deed - we've not managed it once this month so I'm hoping for some sort of miracle baby - literally.

LP17 · 11/04/2018 21:32

@Sammy900 I'm symptom spotting! AF not due until next Wednesday. I've had very sore boobs for about 4 days now - they feel bruised. I normally get sore boobs a bit closer to AF for a day or so so this is slightly unusual. I also have a lot of CM, which isn't usual either. I felt dizzy earlier standing up from being sat down for a while, which never happens....but I did this to myself last month only to get a BFN so 🤷🏻‍♀️

FrowningFlamingo · 11/04/2018 21:41

My mum is desperate for a grandchild. She's lovely about it but it's still really obvious. I'm an only child too so no pressure Hmm

bubblybrit · 11/04/2018 21:45

Snap @FrowningFlamingo! I’m also any only child so all the pressure is on me!
