Hi Ladies, thought I would just grab the bull by the proverbial horns and get this going. Hope the name is okay. MrsMc I am afraid we will all be thinking of you and your DH (and his light saber) everytime we post

Too many individual posts to go back and answer so I thought I'd start with a positive message for all of us from the March thread and for any MC newbies...

Today is my 1 month MN anniversary and I do not know what I would have done without you all. It is the ability to get on here and "let it all out" that keeps me going. I have been blessed to have found you all and whatever lies in my future - your kindness and advice will stay with me forever.

Big Love and Hip hip hooray for a fabulous new positive thread POPSY xxxx

p.s. Gilly get your arse down to london - we can drink the bars dry of Rose (purely medicinal of course )

i think i'm coming back ladies. i'm bleeding a bit.
very scared.

flosspot · 19/06/2007 12:20

Afraid I can't offer much advice on OPK, temping and pre-seed as have given up with all that. Got too stressed and expensive as my cycles can be anything from 40 days upwards. Shortly before mc the consultant's team thought that I wasn't ovulating at all. Hoping that'll change now, but won't know just yet...

I do feel better for having stopped all the charts and sticks and things. But then I am using Clomid and blind faith....

dunno - had gps app booked for thurs am, so i'll go to that and beg to be sent to epu.

sounded calm in my message earlier didn;t it?!

not now - can't stop crying. what have i done to desrve this??

wondering if it is because i only came off depo in oct (it ran out then) - maybe the levels of (er, what is it?) progesterone are high enough for me to conceive but too low to keep a baby. dunno.

argh. shit feck. arse.

Glimmer · 19/06/2007 13:32

Hi alittlebit and to everybody I know from various threads....
Sorry to highjack but you mustn't give up just yet, alittlebit. I bled from week 6-9 and was in a terrible state, just waiting contstantly to loose it -- which I didn't (am 19 weeks now). I think nobody can take the horrible time of waiting from you until you know for sure. But try and see that it can go really both ways at this point. I think your plan about seeing gp and asking for early scan is a good one. I will be thinking of you.

EllieG · 19/06/2007 14:24

Hugs for you littlebit xxxx

morningglory · 19/06/2007 14:50

Littlebit, I know that it won't help that much, but bleeding is more common than not during the early stages of pregnancy. It is a lot more worrysome to us all, because we were the unlucky ones where the bleeding was not OK. You can also go to your A&E, and they can refer you to the EPAU (at least they do near me). Don't give up hope yet...it's not over. (hugs).

popsy, I didn't do pre-seed, but I did ov sticks, just so I knew when I supposedly ovulated. Actually, relying on just the sticks won't be that accurate because by the time you get a positive, you would have missed 3 fertile days.

I also suffered from long cycles, but was otherwise normal fertility-wise. My father, who is an obstetrician, gave me Clomid to regulate my cycles. It worked with DS (2 cycles), and this one (first cycle). May be something to consider. It will allow you to bd more accurately, as you will have much more control over your cycle on Clomid. Not sure what the workup in the UK is (I bypassed it as dad just gave me some), but seems llike quite a few people here have been/are on it, so they can help you.

my1stbaby · 19/06/2007 14:52

Big hugs littlebit. How far along are you? If you can't get GP to refer you ASAP, perhaps you can consider getting a scan done privately. Might be a bit expensive but probably worth it for piece of mind. Hang in there. Will be thinking of you.

alittlebitshy · 19/06/2007 15:43

I am / was/ whatever - 5+5 3 days further than last time.

feeling like it's never going to happen and if it does dd will be 20 by the time she gets a sibling! Thinking maybe should wait longer than 2 cycles next time, but then also thik if i m/c then too, it'll have bene a waste where at least trying sooner might help

flosspot · 19/06/2007 16:04

Littlebit.....am thinking of you, am sending out positive vibes, keeping everything crossed. Don't start thinking about the negative just yet though because hope is a very powerful tool. Take everything one day at a time and we'll be there with you.

patkica · 19/06/2007 16:12

I wanted to send hugs to LBS. I wish I could do something to make you feel better. Kepp the faith. I also wanted to say Popsy, YOU WILL HAVE A BABY. It's just a matter of time, it really is. You got pregnant so you can get pregnant again. Waiting is shit, but it will pass and you'll have your own mini-Possy sooner. I know you will.

Hello to Siameez and Flosspot. As you can see, we've all been through it. My first post-mc cycle was almost 40 days long and so painful. I missed ovulation days becasue it was so long. I've just begun AF and this alst cylce was a little better but still 35 days . It's such a drag when all you want to do is get on with it. I did use the expsive OPK this time and that was reassuring ebcuase I OVed about 5 days later than usual and would have missed it if I haven't. But I still didn't get pg. It just takes time. Don't despair: all weill be well.

patkica · 19/06/2007 16:13

Sorry about my spelling.

WinkyGirl · 19/06/2007 16:50

alittlebitshy I am very upset for you. I really hope that it is innocent bleeding but it doesnt change the fact you have got to go through 2 days of worry. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you on Thursday.

HUGS!!!

alittlebitshy · 19/06/2007 17:44

sorry to whinge on and on - but the amount of bleeding is probably more than innocent bleeding not heavy but not light either.

this is an eternal cycle of hope then crap isn;t it?

popsy76 · 19/06/2007 18:49

Hi alittlebitshy,

I'm so sorry sweetheart. It doesn't matter what anybody says as you're going to fear the worst anyway but I just wanted to send you some hugs and let you know that I'm thinking of you and hoping everything will be okay. Also wanted to send hugs to Winky too, really sorry to hear your news xx

popsy76 · 20/06/2007 09:26

Morning ladies
Hope everyone is good today - littlebit how are you doing babe?
I am all dressed for summer today but the clouds of doom have come over in the time it has taken me to get to work. I am going to be super positive (or try to be). I haven't had a drink since Saturday - lets see if I can manage a weekend with my Mum without downing a bottle of Rose
Hi Patkica, morningglory, myfirst thanks for the advice - at least I am not the only one with LONG cycles! Off to Boots today to get me an OV thermometre - will at least give me something to do. I have heard ladies talking about Clomid on here - something to think about if still struggling at end of this year (god forbid )
KatyH Hi hon how are you?

OP posts:
patkica · 20/06/2007 09:41

MorningG, I've been wondering about clomid as I keep hearing how well it works for some women. Does age make a differnece? My cycles were always a bit irregular, but are much worse since the mc. I'd be grateful for your impressions. Thanks.

ronshar · 20/06/2007 09:58

Morning everyone feeling brighter today not sure why. I think I am on 2ww but no idea really as I am tyring very hard not ot count dates and all the other stuff. I tried the ovulation predictor sticks the first month after mc. I ran out on the same day I got a blue line. Didnt want to go out and buy new pack as I thought that would be it! Ha bloody ha I am still here 3 months later.
The postive side is I dont seem to be getting those horrid mid cycle symptoms we all seemed to be getting. Yet anyway! Fingers crossed. I dont think I am pregnant, but at least something is finally getting back to normal, even if I am still nuts.

popsy76 · 20/06/2007 12:42

hi ronshar i was thinking that the strange stuff we had been getting mid cycle was due to hormonal changes due to normal cycle stuff i.e ovulation - if i look back they did come at about that time (i thought was end of cycle and on 2ww but of course was a 6 week cycle). I am going to embrace those symptoms next time as an OV sign (will stop me being so mad anyway!)
I have a feeling that our wombs are hyper sensitive to changes in hormones after having been PG - this is the reason we haven't had such strange stuff going on before and are freaked out by it.
Does this make sense?

Bonjour lovely ladies-Have been getting funny twinges last couple of days. Don't know what to make of that. Working up the courage to pounce on DH. Will be first time BD post mc. Not as distraught as I thought I would be about it though....

patkica- 40 day cycle normal for me, so god know's what i'll get post mc. Re: Clomid, yet to help my cycles, which have been 40 plus days since I came off the pill. But I did get pregnant last month. Now have to wait until next proper cycle to take them again. Worth asking GP about, though be prepared for side effects. There is a Clomid thread...

LBS- any word? Thinking of you

Ronshar- glad you are feeling brighter...you are so not nuts though. The whole post mc cycle more baffling than being pg, in my opinion.

Hey popsy- sort of see what you mean. Thus far post mc cycle seems more normal than ever. MIL thinks it's because I have had "A good clean out". Tact not her strong point!

Sorry if I missed anyone...

alittlebitshy · 20/06/2007 17:28

hey all,

sorry feeling too out of it to catch up. will do i promise!

feeling generally shit. felt bit better this mornign but gradually lost it over the day and i ache and feel generally poorly too.

at work this eve and feel rubbish.
could have not come in but also didn't fancy battling eith dd for bedtime etc (bad bad mummy).

argh.

someone slap me - i want to feel happy again.

kensgirl · 20/06/2007 17:44

Hello all,

Popsy and Ronshar,I think I know what you mean about the strange mid cycle feelings. Mine are lots better this month, but I had some cramping yesterdy, which seemed to be off to the side a bit and then a bit like period pains.I think I'm putting it down to ov (I so hope....) as today is cd 13 in a cycle averaging 23 to 26 days. What do you think?

also, on a slightly more grusome note , does anyone check there cervix positon as a sign of ov? I've been having a go but not sure of the best time of day, I think it felt open yesterday , sort of like a dimple or hole, but cant find the opening again today, so maybe it has closed again. I really have no idea, but as I don't seem to get ewcm, anything has to help. Any advice gratefully received

Big hugs to LBS and Winky, and anyone else who needs one today.

patkica, my cycles used to be all over the place, but generally 36-50 days (probably due to the fact that I used to run quite a bit). When I decided to TTC the first time, my father, who knew all about my irregular cycles, gave me clomid. Basically, it was to amplify and regulate the level of hormones I normally have. I started at 50mg in cycle one, which didn't work (proabably because hubby was away for part of the time we were supposed to be bding). Next month, I went to 100 mg, and fell pregnant immediately. Recently, I took Clomid, again at 100mg, fell pregnant immediately, then mced it at just over 6 weeks in April. I took it again after my first af after mc, and again got pregnant immediately.

The good: on Clomid, my cycle was 32 days. To confirm that it was working, I did ov sticks, and always got a positive at day 16. The bad: you will have PMT multiplied by 20, and many of the symptoms one associates with early pregnancy,(which makes symptom spotting futile). Oh, there is a small chance multiple births (about 4% higher than normal, so not a huge amount).

It worked for me because I didn't have any primary or seconary reason for infertility, just an annoying cycle due to a slightly lower than normal level of hormones.

Hope this helps.
