Hi Ladies, thought I would just grab the bull by the proverbial horns and get this going. Hope the name is okay. MrsMc I am afraid we will all be thinking of you and your DH (and his light saber) everytime we post

Too many individual posts to go back and answer so I thought I'd start with a positive message for all of us from the March thread and for any MC newbies...

Today is my 1 month MN anniversary and I do not know what I would have done without you all. It is the ability to get on here and "let it all out" that keeps me going. I have been blessed to have found you all and whatever lies in my future - your kindness and advice will stay with me forever.

Big Love and Hip hip hooray for a fabulous new positive thread POPSY xxxx

p.s. Gilly get your arse down to london - we can drink the bars dry of Rose (purely medicinal of course )

me too! my MIL was patting my tum on sat asking if i had something to tell her the prob is i show v early and get awful sickness. but will wait til after we've had 1st scan before telling anyone (will be scanned at 6w if and when)

spugs · 28/05/2007 17:21

lissie - how much longer do you have to wait till you can test? I hate waitng, its bad enough at the min as Im not sure when i would be due on, so give me a couple of weeks and ill be climbing the walls.

lissie · 28/05/2007 17:27

lol, af is due on sat so not before then (maybe fri if i really cant stand it any more!)

basilbrush · 28/05/2007 18:16

hi lissie and spugs -
at least you guys know when your AF is due, i'm not really sure! and i'm not really sure when I ovulated either, I was sure it was sun 20th, Fertility Friend says wed 23rd. That means another 9 days to wait to test - i think my head will have exploded by then...
am currently in the old Shall I Have A Glass Of Wine With Dinner dilemma ....maybe you're right spugs and the only way to guarantee a BFP is to have one!!

WinkyGirl · 28/05/2007 20:06

Spugs thats the kind of advice I like! Sod the current medical advice that you shouldn't even drink alcohol when ttc. We conceived DD one boozy Friday night!

I am CD17 and yesterday my OPK said I was ovulating so we BD yesterday and today and plan to tomorrow too. We conceived DD on CD18 so I have my fingers crossed.

Lissie and Basil how are you going to get through the week??!!

popsy76 · 29/05/2007 08:26

Morning ladies, god it is great to read all the posts - I missed you all! Having another "mad as a snake" time. Have been bleeding on and off (brown?) since AF (05/05) arghhhh so no idea what body is up to (not OV obviously the bugger!). Went to see PG friend (7 months) and new baby friend yesterday. Was shit as I expected but also not as bad as I imagined. Safe to say I cried myself to sleep. Going to wedding in prague on Thursday so at least have something to look forwards to. Hope you all had less depressing w/e than me (what a lot of bloody rain???) xxx

basilbrush · 29/05/2007 08:47

Hey popsicle

Re weird bleeding, was that your first AF after m/c? I know it's not much ocnsolation but I think our bodies just do weird things in times of hormonal upheaval...like before my first AF when I threw up twice in a week. Also when I came off the pill (which mucks you about similarly to an m/c)I had similar strange bleeding for 3 weeks, then a proper AF then another one a fortnight later! After that things settled down.

Re weddings, much nicer topic! Prague is magical and I'm sure you'll have a lovely time you lucky thing. Make sure you enjoy yourself as much as possible! While I was still bleeding form my m/c, I went to my brother -in-law's nuptials and he's a Born Again. Now, I hope I don't offend anyone on the thread here but I'd never been to anything like it before. Lots of hands in the air and an impromptu pass the mike round the congregation prayer session. I had to giggle when one guy earnestly declared "Lord, thank you for being here today...and I ask you Lord to be with E & C in their wedding bed tonight. (pause) Well not literally, obviously Lord!"

Then at the reception I was quite in the mood to down a bottle of champers given my fragile state and all there was was Appletizer....Nooooooooo..........!!!!!!

Anyway, I'm sure they don't do dry weddings in Prague. Have lots of grog (it's a hot rum toddy - you might need it in this weather)

popsy76 · 29/05/2007 09:05

Hi Basil - thanks for the lovely message - that makes me feel much better - in fact i think I may have had a long bleed when I came off the pill so trying not to worry - looks like my body is taking over anyway and letting me know I'm not ready for another PG just yet...
Have crossed my fingers for you this month!
xxxxxx

Lissie ? hope you are still keeping positive sorry you had to explain to that lady, it must have been so hard I guess most people innocently think that a pregnancy will mean a baby and I really wish I still thought that way too One of the reasons why we told PIL this time was that I couldn?t handle the questioning looks every time I saw FIL and his comments

Spugs ? sorry to hear about your night out, that must have been agony for you and I know exactly what you mean about waiting for that negative test, it is the saddest and weirdest feeling. I hope things get easier for you soon. Sending huge hugs x We decided this time round that given the stress of lying and keeping secrets and my added complication of not being ?safe? from MC until 20 weeks or so, that we?d tell people on a needs must basis so that we could duck out of things and not drink etc. It is easier and plus, if the unspeakable happened again, I would know that I could tell people without having to start at the beginning, which I found exhausting last time. I think you just have to do what?s best for you

Basil hang on in there! Funnily enough, appletiser is one of my current cravings!!

Winky ? fingers crossed that you hit the jackpot this cycle!

Popsy ? I love it when you?re mad as a snake!! Funny about the spotting doesn?t mean you can?t OV though ? keep vigilant of your CM, don?t want to miss the boat!! It could be due to cervical erosion you know, sounds worse than it is but that is often where spotting is actually coming from rather than your womb. Well done for being so brave, sending huge hugs. Enjoy the wedding

basilbrush · 29/05/2007 10:28

OMG

Just done a First Reponse and got a BFP. Faint but definitely there

Can't stop shaking

MrsMcJnr · 29/05/2007 10:30

Oh Basil [grin I did have a good feeling about you!! congratulations!! hope it gets darker and darker and stronger and stronger!! There must be something in our water - 3 new Scottish bumps this month!

basilbrush · 29/05/2007 10:38

Must have been the lucky Pre-Seed Package Who would like it next???

Well Fertility Friend must have been wrong about my DPO? Because according to them I'm only 6DPO!!

I'm not even sure why I took the test. I was a totally implusive decision. I was sat here, with sore boobs feeling sick as a dog and thought Right.

Will test again in 48 hours to see if line stronger. Fingers crossed this Bean is not Blighted.

torres · 29/05/2007 11:17

oh wow!!! that's amazing! congratulations! As you say scottish water and touching the lucky preseed pack of mrsmc!! If you don't need it, could I have it? It could be passed around like a charm!!

well done!!!

MrsMcJnr · 29/05/2007 11:45

there has to be some benefit to living in a place that rains so much!! I reckon that FF just didn?t have enough temps to go on don?t you. What is your DD then? This beanie will be perfect try not to worry.

basilbrush · 29/05/2007 11:54

MrsMc - yup, you are probably right. you usually are

Torres I will, with pleasure, post you MrsMcJnr's Pre-Seed Of Power Package. Just CAT me your address

God, girls. It's half term but I'm in school "working". This morning's "work" has gone like this:

8.30-9.30 - checked email and MN posts and felt sick
9.30-10.00 walked into town and back to get test
10.00 Did test
10.03-10.30 Stared at wall and shook for a bit. Rang DH. Who was all clam and collected in that logical Male Way
10.30 Posted on MN
10.30-11.30 Decided no longer sick and v. hungry so nipped out bacon sarnie and a cuppa. Got to keep my strength up

Dedicated professional me...

nh101 · 29/05/2007 11:54

Congrats Basil - that is such great news. My fingers are crossed forr you.

No period yet (CD34), I thought it was due today but after coming off pill then MC I haven't a clue what my cycle is.

Still getting crampy pains (tummy and back) and think my boobs are a little bigger but all this could well be AF. Will try not to test till Saturday if AF doesn't come (as if !)

torres · 29/05/2007 12:22

basil- your morning sounds hilarious! Thank god it's half term- I had visions of you testing in between lessons! Thanks for the offer of the power package, I will string it above the bed like a dream catcher!! I will attempt to CAT you.

nh you're doing really well not testing, you must have nerves of steel! fingers crossed for you.

nh101 · 29/05/2007 12:26

I wish, Torres! I have already done three tests this cycle (or is it four? I can't remember )

I am just fed up of getting BFNs now

EllieG · 29/05/2007 12:31

Hurray for you basil! Will keep everything crossed xxx

missnatalie · 29/05/2007 13:19

Hi Ladies,

Im back after spending the week house sitting at my mums. Theres so much to catch up on. Will have a read up later.

Got a + on OPK on CD 14 and have been non-stop BD since then. Im now on CD 19 and still going for it just in case . DP thinks he's in heaven .

Im feeling like a teenager all over again. BD in my old room was exciting. It reminded me of being 16 again and having a quickie before mum and dad came home .

Have a pack of 20 HPT at the ready for CD 28. I am determined not to test before then.

Anyway just a quick up date. I'll be back later.

WinkyGirl · 29/05/2007 14:12

Basil I am so thrilled for you. I think that in your condition the bacon sarnie and tea was advisable!

Am so pleased that another one of us has "graduated."

MissNatalie where do you obtain packs of 20 HPT from? Am off online to investigate....

I am CD18. One more BD tonight then sitting back for 10 days waiting for AF.

iwillbepositive · 29/05/2007 14:16

Well done to the BFPs!!! Scottish water not working for me - am getting plenty of rain, though. Thought I was ok about my mc (in march at 5 wks) but I think subconsciously I was expecting to get pregnant again quickly - not sure where this optimism came from after nearly 1.5 years of ttc! I could take it not happening the month after the mc but was feeling hopeful about this month. 2x BFN, although not due for a couple of days, and a familiar pre-AF feeling have dashed all optimism and made me really resentful and fed up about the mc. Also dying for some proper alcohol along the lines of a really big cocktail night, but feel I should remain in mode teetotal - v boring!

popsy76 · 29/05/2007 14:22

Hi Basil so chuffed for you - hooray! bloody hell - now the real worrying starts eh ?
MrsMC wanted to ask you about this as I started thinking might be cervical erosion - it seems worse after sex and is stringy which makes me think of CM. Can I cat you for a chat? (you are my doc now ha ha)

OP posts:
MrsMcJnr · 29/05/2007 15:18

Missnatalie hope you didn?t tell DH what being in your old room reminded you of unless of course he featured in the memories good luck this cycle!

Make that last BD a good one Winky

Iwillbe ? it?s only a matter of time before the water gets you too! . I have been where you are I hoped to get pg right away after my MC and I had been trying for 8 months for that baby and was terrified that it would take ages again but now that I am pg again, I am so glad that I did have that 10 week gap between the MC and the new BFP because believe me, sometimes you forget that it is a different pregnancy with every chance of success and it scares the hell out of you, also, I?m sorry to say, a new pg does not numb the pain the way I hoped it would, yes there is a new light now but every day and each new thing reminds you what you are not having with the baby you lost. Sorry to be glum, I don?t mean to sound negative but I think it is important to realise that it?s not the solution to making the pain go away. I hope I haven?t got your back up. Sending huge hugs, hang in there x Not suggesting you have a blow out at this stage but a few drinks might do you personally a lot of good

Popsy ? of course you can hon I?ll help all I can and if I don?t know ? I?ll consult my reference library at home

nh101 · 29/05/2007 16:08

That was a nice message MrsMc - I am hoping to be PG in the hope it will make me feel better about my MC but I know you are right that it is not always the sticking plaster we hope it will be.

Still hoping madly that these back/tummy pains are not AF though!
