For all those ttc #2 and hoping to banish those January blues with a new year BFP, this is the bus for you! All welcome. Let’s hope for a flurry of BFPs before the month’s out. 💕💕💕💕

My Stats are as follows:

Age: 35
DS (2 in November)
Cycle: 16 (groan!)
AF/BFP due: 20 January (my Grandma’s Birthday)

@Foodylicious what does pomegranate juice do?

Foodylicious · 09/01/2018 14:10

It's meant to help improve/thicken the lining.
Who knows , but I'll try anything!

MynameisJune · 09/01/2018 15:37

@foody have you tried agnus Castus for helping your LP? Mine was coming out quite short and some cycles was only 6 days but now it’s more like 12-14. I find evening primrose oil also regulates my cycle, pushes ov to day 12 or 13 rather than 10 or 11 and keeps my LP the same as AC.

LopeyLopez · 09/01/2018 17:55

Thanks for all your kind messages people. It really does means lot and make me feel better. I don't have much outlet for this in real life. Few of my friends know we are ttc, or I find I can't discuss it with them.

I find my oh really hard to talk to, especially about this. We had a big discussion last night prior to the doctors app and I ended up crying loads. He said I should talk to him more so he could support me, but I said I had just wanted it to "happen" so that he could have the happy, joyful part ("I'm pregnant!) without all the months of gruelling disappointment that preceded it. I feel I am letting everyone down, but especially him and my poor sibling-less DS.

Anyway the docs was ok. My lh and fsh hormones are fine but unfortunately my progesterone and oestrogen are quite low. Not sure what they will prescribe for this (when we do eventually get to the fertility clinic - there is a long waiting list apparently). Does anyone on here use progesterone cream or supplements? I have heard of people using these without prescription / docs advice. Are there any bad side effects / reasons why you shouldn't use them? I think I will wait and see what is recommended.

Had the pelvic exam and it was fine. No fibroids and uterus and cervix looked ok.

Next oh has to get an app with the same dr; then he has to give a "sample"(!) and then we will be referred.

Whole Drs app was pretty pain free and smooth considering the emotional mess I was in shortly before it!!

LopeyLopez · 09/01/2018 17:56

Foodylicious, sounds like you in the same place exactly as us with the "deposit" soon and then being referred. Good luck! We can support each other xxx

LopeyLopez · 09/01/2018 17:59

I will no doubt be stocking up on mountains of pomegranate juice now!! 😉😂

I also have very short light periods (with worries about lining, and now also low progesterone thrown into the mix...). Luteal phase is ok but could be better - was 10 days and now averages at 12.

I already take agnus castus and b6....all the shit!!

LopeyLopez · 09/01/2018 18:03

@cariad, yeah, I'd convinced myself I would be having another September baby like DS, just like you and your December baby. They would have been exactly three years apart.

Not sure why we get like this....must be when we get to the same time of year that we got pregnant in last time around...?

This has been by far the hardest bfn to take so far xxx

RhiBee29 · 10/01/2018 06:33

Morning all!

I got a positive opk Monday, dtd Monday and yesterday (and 2 days before + opk), Ovia says fw is now over but Period Tracker says I ovulated yesterday and should dtd today. I'm confused. I thought ovulation would occur day of or day after the +opk. Help, do I need to dtd again? I don't know if DH can, it was a struggle last night tbh. I don't want to miss my chance!

CatRen27 · 10/01/2018 07:20

@lopey yeah those 'anniversaries' are hard aren't they. I've now given up worrying about the age gap as it just depresses me.. I spent a long time just 'sad' and it mustnt have been great for the dd i have. Double guilt!

@rhibee go with the opk, its more accurate than your app. Obvs doesn't hurt to dtd more often but sounds like you gave it a good go already! Fx

After my surgery in Nov the consultant mentioned further assistance (ivf etc) and i think we'll look into that if we're not successful in the next two cycles. Feeling hopeful this month, but trying to be realistic

Mileymoocow · 10/01/2018 09:39

Opk got darker so I ovulated on the 3rd. 7dpo today and got this this morning, but the line completely disappeared after an hour or so. There's just a kind of shadow where it was, not sure if there's any colour to it. Why do I do this to myself!

TTC #2 January BFPs
Mileymoocow · 10/01/2018 09:41

rhibee I'd say you've covered yourself. Do you check your cm? Mine tends to change to school glue type when I'm not longer fertile

MynameisJune · 10/01/2018 10:08

@milly I can see a line but it doesn’t appear to have any colour so possibly an evap. 7dpo is very early as most implantation doesn’t happen until 7-10dpo so it’s likely the egg hasn’t even implanted yet.

MynameisJune · 10/01/2018 10:08

@miley sorry not milly! Bloody autocorrect

Mileymoocow · 10/01/2018 10:14

Thanks June Smile it was within the time frame, then disappeared later. I got my BFP at 7dpo with DS so I think it's just sent me a little cookie Blush

RhiBee29 · 10/01/2018 12:52

Thanks @Mileymoocow & @CatRen27 I'm hoping we've done enough. I do check ewcm but still have some but can't be sure if it's ewcm or -tmi- a result of dtd last night Blush

CatRen27 · 10/01/2018 13:02

@rhibee I'm always the same, is it me or is it remains of him?! EFFING GROSS. We pretend we're all adults but when we're dealing with their jizz in our knickers I think all bets are off... lol

Mileymoocow · 10/01/2018 18:50

I'm going to sound like a bit of a maniac here, I do realise Grin but I may have been known to do the water test. Put it in a glass of water- if it clumps together and sinks it's cm, if it floats and dissolves it's jizz. I know, I know Blush

CatRen27 · 10/01/2018 22:34

@miley i did not know about that one! Will defo use it next month like the maniac i am

RhiBee29 · 11/01/2018 21:45

DS started preschool today. I think every other mum at the gate either had a baby in a buggy with them or were also waiting for an older child to come from the primary school block. I was asked if I had any other kids and looked at like a weirdo when I said no. Anyone else feel like it's not ok to just have one kid? I'm an only child and I haven't turned out too badly!

Peanut1980 · 11/01/2018 21:56

@rhibee29. I feel your pain! It always feels a bit awkward when I say I only have one child but now I openly tell people we’re trying and have been for some time. To be honest though I think I ask the question to other Mums too. Maybe we’re just sensitive to it because we want another one xx

CatRen27 · 11/01/2018 22:42

I'm the same @rhibee, I feel I'm lacking as we 'only' have one. Everyone around me seems to effortlessly have two relatively close in age and it is so unfair. I've been spending time with some friends who also only have one but wondering when we'll get the next baby bomb and we'll be completely alone.

I also say we've been trying for a long time, and then they often get awkward. But at least I've been honest and answered their question - don't ask if you're not ready for the answer I say..

Sorry feeling a bit down today after bfn at 11dpo. Was hopeful as i had cramps a few days ago and hoped they were implantation but I've gotten my hopes up yet again for sure. Ffs pass the wine!

RhiBee29 · 12/01/2018 06:40

@Peanut1980 @CatRen27 maybe I'll adopt your approach and tell them TTC number 2 is not easy. Just worried they might look at me like some kind of nympo that's shagging like a rabbit all the time Blush

Secondtimelucky1980 · 12/01/2018 06:46

Bugger, I reckon I’m out. My cramps are getting more intense and feels so like a period. I’m 9dpo. I’m secretly a bit relieved. Sorry to say that but I’ve just gone back to work after mat leave and I don’t think my bosses would be too happy if it happened so soon. We don’t stop trying but maybe this month is a blessing.

Who is next to test??

Xx

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 12/01/2018 07:03

AF came yesterday Sad also realised this thread is for those TTC #2 and I’m only on no. 1 Blush sorry for gate crashing!

MynameisJune · 12/01/2018 07:18

Sorry for the bfn @catren but you never know it could still be too early to test.

@second when I went back from mat leave I was worried about getting pregnant soon again as well. Turns out that was pointless, I’d say just go with whatever happens. Work will deal with it.

6dpo here, nothing out of the ordinary to speak of so not getting hopeful this month but I’m okay with it. Trying to just accept that hopefully it will happen when it’s supposed to.
