Have been slowly coming off antidepressants and stopped taking the pill (using condoms) to get body back to normal ready to try for no.2 in June, also started taking pregnacare. I know its early to start posting but got my first proper period today so just been on site to check fertile dates for months again and think we're going to go for it in June - ooooooooooooo, very excited. Just wondered if there was anyone else out there planning way ahead cos i wouldn't talk to anyone in RL life about it so far ahead, other than dh!

I've been drinking alcohol free becks to pretend to myself that I'm drinking. I never smoked and you did very well to give up so keep up the good work. Re. alcohol - I am sticking with the original guidelines of 1-2 units a week maximum. Have not had more than one unit so far though as am being careful first trimester.

scorpio1 · 04/06/2007 18:38

i drank that too when i was pg. we went on holiday to menorca when i was pg with Jamie (ds2) and i drank that and virgin cocktails

Smoking - yes i am quite pleased with myself for that. last 2 times i just gave up when i knew.

plummymummy · 04/06/2007 18:39

Do you think you'll be able to stay off em when you've had your baby?

plummymummy · 04/06/2007 18:40

Virgin cocktails are a great idea for my holiday as we're away end of the month

scorpio1 · 04/06/2007 18:40

hopefully, i want to try BF this time (never have before). Also i like not being so attached to something so stupid iyswim?

scorpio1 · 04/06/2007 18:41

ooh where you going?? you not coming down here too to stalk me as well are you [arrgghh]stop stealing my pasties and saffron buns!

tigerschick · 04/06/2007 18:54

Oooh Congratulations Plummy. I agree on waiting before going for another scan. You'll definately see more next time

Scorpio - well done on giving up the cigarettes. My db gave up in November after about 13 years. He started again a few weeks ago but is now back on the patches, thank goodness. I gave up cold turkey when I was 19, had only been smoking for a couple of years so it wasn't too hard.

I was lucky in that I didn't fancy any alcohol when I was pg... that was one of the signs that I was

spugs · 04/06/2007 19:03

Co grats on scan plummy , sorry lissie to hear about your shit day
Scorpio - I stopped smoking when i found out i was pregnant with the baby i mcd, i havent started again but i did have a few sneaky puffs when i went out last friday it tasted rank so i think i shoul be able to stay off it especially with the smoking ban coming in

tryingtokeepmychinup · 04/06/2007 21:11

Still getting used to all this, you all seem to know each other so well.

I am really pleased for you plummymummy.

I have just convinced my DH to reduce his beer sessions, really in part thanks to Trevor McDonalds Sperm Challenge on TV tonight. A friend is going to lend me a book by Zita West, has anyone read it?

I've only been on here for two days but I have read loads of threads and feel so much more positive.

May even change my nickname to something more positive

manamana · 04/06/2007 21:17

Yay, change it - but keep the chin connection then we'll know its you (hmmm, or you could just tell us!).
Plummy, scan news sounds fantatsic but can understand what a scarey time this is for you, I was scared to death for first 12weeks of pg and had no complications at all.
Lissie, off to read about your horrible doc - sending a big hug and a big 'clink' of glasses - enjoy your week of indulgences.
Got a bit teary tonight so think it may be pmt, am on cd23 i think. Have to look at the ttc table thread to check!

Hi trying, I don't know if anybody answered your question yet, but zinc + vitamin c (or a combination of vits) can do your dh's little swimmers a lot of good. I make mine take one capsule every morning.... well, in fact he takes them voluntarily!!
Hello to everyone else. I fear af will be here at the weekend (thanks to sinusitis, grrrr ), had some spotting last week and am now waiting....

BabyBratt · 04/06/2007 21:44

Its done changed my name, trying to keep my chin up was far to negative and reflected how I felt yesterday before I found MN. Which is very addictive.

A little baby Bratt is what I will have one day!! (Bratt is my new surname, I definitely married my DH for love not his surname )

Im on CD20 and I have sore bust, and I had a strange pain the other day. Probably just PMS as usual but I live in hope.

I did not realise that some women get pains on implantation. I am learning alot just reading the threads.

Its my 30th on Friday and I think there is a suprise something or other planned for Saturday!!! So I should imagine everyone will expect me to drink. Do you guys still have a drink even though your ttc?

UpsyDaisy · 04/06/2007 22:07

Hello BabyBratt - again
I don't post as much as i'd like. I have been a lurker on mn for a while. I didn't seem to gel with the due in thread for ds, not sure why......prob my smelly feet or something...anyway am determind to be more pro active in the posting, mn is a great source of info.....I bet you could ask any question and you'd get some response!

I had a horrible implantation bleed, was convinced I was going to mc....but everything was ok...obviously as i have ds!
I was also 30 at the time......good age for a baby!

iwantanotherone · 04/06/2007 22:19

Hi BB (like your name and attitude!), as far as I know you can eat and drink whatever you like before your af is due because it won't harm the baby. If it is not there yet iyswim it would make no sense to abstain from everything, if it's there, it is just settling and it will either be oK or af will be coming anyway because something's wrong - not the booze. That's exactly what my gyn said and I did not mind a glass of wine or something until I got my bfp. Have fun on your birthday!! May your next year be the year!!

pobletsmum · 04/06/2007 22:26

Hi everyone,

Just trying to catch up...

Wonderful wedding locations!

Plummy - tentative congratulations

Lissie & Scorpio - sorry about your periods arriving. Enjoy a few glasses of wine for me, or Buds, Scorpio! (quietly congratulating myself for remembering to say period, not af!!!!!)

I think I will test again tomorrow, as I will be 11 or 13dpo. Last time, I got BFP at 10 or 11dpo. My temps are looking good, following the same pattern as when pg 1st time. Fingers crossed.

Hello to everyone haven't mentioned.

tigerschick · 04/06/2007 22:26

Like the new name BB - it's easier to shorten for one thing It's amazing how many people on here either have just or are about to turn 30 ... I'm just short of 11 months off it now, not that I'm counting or anything .

Hope everyone else is ok tonight.

pobletsmum · 04/06/2007 22:27

I forgot to say hello BabyBratt!

tigerschick · 04/06/2007 22:27

Oooh good luck for the morning pobletsmum

pobletsmum · 04/06/2007 22:33

Thanks Tiger. I know I'm weak testing so early, but I'd rather have a BFN than wonder whether I might get a BFP, if that makes any sense at all. Of course, a BFN is never a happy sight, but it stops my mind buzzing with 'should I test' for a couple of days.

I'm a bit anxious anyway even if I did get a BFP cos I've had 2 courses of antibiotics in the past month, and I don't know what the effects would be, even though I told the DR I was TTC both times. Hmmm...

pinkslippers · 04/06/2007 22:56
