Thought someone better start a new thread as we're getting close to the 1000 mark!
Ready - what's your question?

OP posts:
PinkElephant · 14/05/2007 09:25

Ha ha!! Love it.....all so pink and girlie!! . Good to see you ladies are on top form

Woodmouse · 14/05/2007 13:17

agree with Nomore - very quiet again on the TTC1 thread. I've been stuffed at work, but managed a fair bit of BD-ing over the weekend in between Eurovision party-ing, although I dare say it was at the wrong time, but fun anyway . I think my costume may have had something to do with it!!! DH is off on his travels (again) returning next Sunday. Is anyone else now in the 2WW period?

LOL at all the pink names. Have been trying to think how I could "pink" Woodmouse, but Pinkmouse or Woodpink doesn't really do it....

nomoremagnolia · 14/05/2007 17:41

WoodmouseWithPinkEars?

What's all this Pink talk I've missed

How's everyone doing? Any BFPs???

rattling · 15/05/2007 15:10

Just been off wandering around the MN universe. Found this thread which made me giggle. Enjoy the silence while you can.

Ready · 15/05/2007 15:45

HAHAHAHA! Love it Rattling - although I do wonder if that is how my DH feels some days - I never shut up!!

Woodmouse · 15/05/2007 16:10

hurrah ready is back! No BFP for me, Ready. Won't be able to test for a few days yet, but I don;t think it is very likely . However, I can assure everyone here that you lot will be the first to know!!

i LIKE Woodmousewithpinkears!

ha ha - LOL at all the chatter threads. What are we letting oursleve sin for on the TTC1 thread?!?

any news from the old guard... hello kensgirl, Imwurzel, Seaside, hespera, Gilly, MrsMcJnr, Scorpio and the others. Any good news?

Ready · 15/05/2007 16:14

Well... It's probably not my place to say - but MrsMcJnr got a BFP and Seaside is at the end of her 2ww and holding out from testing til Thursday - but she is on holiday at the mo...

Ready · 15/05/2007 16:14

Fingers crossed for you Woodmouse

scorpio1 · 15/05/2007 16:17

Ready · 15/05/2007 17:09

LOL at you not "belong"-ing Scorpio - perhaps not, but you are always welcome
I'm good ta - just a busy bee!! Hope you are getting on ok... hope your symptoms come to something!

BellaBear · 15/05/2007 19:13

appointment tomorrow, I just need to work out what to say. How does this sound?:

  • I know it is too early to talk about problmes conceiving (three cycles since mc) so I'm not here about that
  • I seem to be very hormonal and emtional and it has been noticeable at work
  • can I do anything about this?
  • is there anything I can do do boost my chances of conception?
Ready · 16/05/2007 09:10

Bella - That sounds good to me, how long have you been trying in total though? Because if it is nearly a year, I would make that clear, for your records. Good luck with the appointment, I hope that you have someone who is understanding - sometimes just talking about things will make you feel you are on the right track. Let us know how you get on.

nomoremagnolia · 16/05/2007 09:17

bella - I wouldn't say "I know it's too early..." just leave that bit out. I'd go for "we've been ttc for a while and I'm finding it really stressful/emotional, esp with the m/c 3(?) months ago, and it's affecting my work and personal life"
hth

hello ready, good to see you back.
where does mrsmc hang out these days, iwant to go and say congrats!

OP posts:
Ready · 16/05/2007 09:31

Good point nomoremagnolia - don't let the gp think it's too early.

MrsMc can be found on the pregnancy boards on "New thread for TTC graduates" and various ones on Conception "chartspotters unite" "temp buddies6" "ttc after m/c"

PinkMartini · 16/05/2007 09:44

Hello

PinkElephant - I wasn't offended at all - totally understand the potential for confusion.
I'm loving how this thread has pink-ified itself. Maybe when we get our BFPs we'll all have girls?!

Woodmouse as for news of the old guard - I am Hespera, I changed my name as I prefer this one. I am never going to be as well known as any of the MN cliques as I can never find a name I like!!

ready as ever, respect for your ability to keep everything going on this thread.

everyone else how are you? Come and tell us your news!

I am pretty much on my 2WW now, CD15/16 but I'm using Persona (hence two cycle days, my interpretation and what the machine says LOL) but I didn't get the OV symbol this month. I'm not holding out much hope as I'm sure we've not BDed enough. but there's a little bit of me that's hoping nonetheless.

BellaBear · 16/05/2007 09:45

Well, it really hasn't been long, the mc was the first cycle we actually tried (came off pill two months earlier)and then it has been three cycles since.
But I really want to chat about coping with fluctuating hormones (and a bit about 'I WANT A BABEEEEEEEEEE')

PinkMartini · 16/05/2007 10:12

Bella, I would work out how you want to phrase it and then write it down and read it out.
It's so easy to be hassled at the GPs by the time youve hung round for them to see you etc, particularly if you're worried about it before you even get there and then you may find that you end up saying the wrong thing iykwim.
GOOD LUCK

BellaBear · 16/05/2007 18:27

I do like my GP! I am perfectly normal and am grieving, normally, and it is a bit delayed, also normally.
If I wanted to sort out my hormones, I would need to either go on the pill or on antedepressants, neither of which is compatible with ttc, or even, in the case of the latter, particularly necessary for me.
Advice re conceiving is: have lots of sex. you can't have too much (men adapt quickly) and it's better in the first half of the cycle than the second (starting on CD5 is worthwhile).
She suggested chatting to the miscarriage association which I will think aboout, but can I just say that on my walk home I actually planned this post and it really helps to tell you all. xx

PinkElephant · 16/05/2007 18:39

Oh Bella, I'm so glad to gear you're ok. Also very glad to hear your GP was nice and sympathetic with you....it always helps. So is the plan to have a good old chat with mums who have suffered a miscarriage and try to get through the emotions you are feeling, but also to carry on TTC? If it helps to know I felt a bit teary for a good three months after my ectopic and felt totally diconnected to babies and pregnant mum's - I think its natural and is very much a self defence mechanism . The one thing I hung onto, was the fact we had actually got pregnant in the end, which has to be a bonus in knowing that you're capable of producing/releasing an egg or that DH is functioning well also. Sometimes its the not knowing all this which is the hardest part of TTC if you get what I mean

cityangel · 17/05/2007 01:27

PinkElephant I think your perceptions are very accurate. Sometimes (she say anxiously trying not to upset MNers) I get a little frustrated with those who have moved on from the knowing they can conceive step..... On a personal note I appear to be one of the few people on here who hasn't ever experienced conception/ implantation.

Bellabear, a very tough time for you. A personal question so feel free not to answer. Why did the doc recommend early cycle trying? Only, I have a 30 day cycle and am (according to every machine/ test) fertile from day 15. OV day 18 - 21. So if I stuck to their advice I would miss the boat.

BellaBear · 17/05/2007 09:55

You haven't upset me, don't worry!

I'm not sure why, she just said that evidence seems to suggest that the earlier you start can have an effect - possibly because of getting sperm manufacturing up to speed? (that's my idea not hers)

PinkMartini · 17/05/2007 12:45

I am very early in TTC terms, have only been "at it" fnaar fnaar for 2 months, so can only imagine how those of you who've had problems can feel.

PinkElephant · 17/05/2007 13:58

Cityangel - I feel for you hun....its the not knowing which is so hard. How long have you been TTC for now? Funny how GP's all have their own opinions, mine told me after 6months of TTC to go for it three times a week, between day 9 and 19....by the following month we were PG. Good luck to you

PinkElephant · 17/05/2007 14:00

Pinkmartini - 2months can feel like forever when you really want something though, can't it
