Yum was in need of a new thread, and I thought the title was apt because it's not just TCOYF charts anymore... hope it's ok?? I don't want anyone to think I am taking over

Just needing something, anything, to take my mind OFF my impending doom

OP posts:
Ready · 26/04/2007 19:51

Ok... do you want to start a new thread MrsMc??

Is it interesting?? Really?? So I am not cuckoo for thinking it might mean something???

3catstoo · 26/04/2007 20:09

Mrsmc - so sorry to hear about your blood clotting. What can they do for that?

Ready · 27/04/2007 11:24

MrsMcJnr - I have tried to research your thrombophilia in relation to pregnancy ? that is not an easy task! There doesn?t seem to be very many pregnancy specific facts out there! When do you get the Factor V Leiden (?) result? Did the other factors come back negative (lupus?) ? and is just the Factor V they are waiting on? Sorry I am asking lots of questions, but I know nothing about it. Was wondering, you said you shouldn?t have been on the pill ? did your blood pressure checks and everything not show any problems ? presumably not or you would have been taken off it!
It is natural for you to be worried about the road ahead, but you have to see that you are investigating it, because of your knowledge and forcefulness with your GP and having tests. And I know that doesn?t bring Ava back, but you can demand the best care for your next pregnancy and you can be closely monitored.
It is a shame that the family were not tested at the time of your Aunt?s diagnosis. Speaking of which, can I just ask ? does your Aunt have children? What monitoring did she have during?
I apologise if I am being too nosy, if you don?t want to answer any of my questions I will understand.
I read on the other thread more about you and your DH falling out. Oh honey, I am sorry that there is so much going on in your life at the moment that brings tears. I am sure men have to find their way of dealing with things, and if saying Ava was cells helps MrMc to grieve and heal then that is the best way for him. Men tend to be much more black and white about life (my DH certainly is!) where as we women cannot be that way. It?s not in our make-up. Hang in there flower, I know things are tough for you right now ? but you and DH have a solid relationship that can weather the storms!

Apologies for the waffle.

Mum03 - Part time huh!! Enjoy! How?s the house-building going?? Every Friday morning I think of you over breakfast ? haha! The Bricks and Mortar supplement in The Times ? just makes me think of you building your dream! I would love to. My dream would be either a Huf Haus or a Deco property ? complete with Crittal window and White Loveliness! Something tells me I will get neither!

Cityangel - I am not sure I will cope with not knowing if you have got your Ultra Expensive BFP til you get back home! Argh. We are both due on the same day!! Fingers crossed for you! Hope you are having a lovely time!

3cats - Are you feeling less stressed today? No more practising for the local plate smashing competition??

Seaside - Hope you are ok!?

Well? not sure if my temp dip was anything yesterday. My temp did go up a bit this morning, but I had a very disturbed night and have a stonking headache today ? so I assume that would affect my temp one way or the other. So, not reading anything into it. Still feel pre-menstrual and really cheesed off.

rattling · 27/04/2007 11:55

Ready - with you on the deco property idea. Very few of them around here so I suppose building our own is the only option. Apologies for being flippant with the implantation temp dip comment - I'm not sure I buy any of these as being decisive signs. Staying above your coverline is though, so hope it stays there.

MrsMcJnr - the fact that there is tension in your relationship suggests that your DH maybe isn't coping with things as well as he/you thinks? Can't all be about losing at LaserQuest?

My temp is way up today - did a bit of projection, and if I assume high temps over the next couple of days FF puts me at 3dpo - based on CM and +ve OPK I assume. Not sure I quite believe that. And good as it would be for my LP this month, not so good for BD timing. Ah, well. Always something to work on .

3catstoo · 27/04/2007 13:40

Ready and Mum03, your charts are looking good.

MrsMc, how are things going today? Have you and DH made up?

No more plate smashing here, just a DH who has had enough of my committees and the effect it's having on the housework!

Not sure if he's had a bad week at work but he's really down in dumps and not happy with me.

It always seems to happen in the week running upto Ov! I'm hoping Ov will be earlier than last month (cd19) as I don't think I'll last the week.

DH goes away at the end of next week too so life will be hectic this week.

Anyway, have a great weekend. sending lots of calm and positive vibes out to you all.

MrsMcJnr · 27/04/2007 19:34

Ok Ready, I?ll start a new thread called Plotting for Pregnancy! Sorry to hear things are no clearer for you today, hang in there hon!

That was sweet of you to look up the thrombophilia! the defect I have is similar to Factor V Leiden. All I know at the mo is that I have the hereditary defect that runs in my family, I don?t know about anything else. It was the result of the tests I had 5 weeks ago. I have a horrible suspicion that I might have had Lupus in the past though. I guess the consultant will look into it all in more depth. I did have blood pressure checks on the pill but as my blood pressure is low, they never looked into it further, even when I got awful migraines (apparently these can be related to the blood clotting issues). My Aunt has 2 children. They are both in their 20s. She was only diagnosed with this after 3 mini strokes in the last few years (she?s under 50). Both of my cousins were under 4 pounds at birth despite being full term. That often happens with blood clotting issues in the mother it seems as the blood can?t get through the placenta. Thanks for all the lovely things you?ve said

Thanks 3Catsoo ? think it?s a question of managing it in pregnancy with anticoagulants to try and support the placenta. Hope it?s not too long before my consultant?s appointment comes through and I can find out more. Luckily DH and I had made up before the results of my test came in I know what you mean about grumpy husbands in the week before OV! Or do you think we just ignore them their huffs the rest of the time? Have a lovely weekend

Hi Rattling I think DH is more bothered about his football team losing, the fact that he hates his job and money than the MC to be honest. I?m not just saying that, I do think that is true. He seems to have perked up for his boys? night tonight anyway!

seaside72 · 27/04/2007 20:44

MrsMcJnr I am so sorry about your test results I find that It is such a mixed emotion to get "bad" results in that you obviously want to know the information and to be able to fix it but on the other hand there is that completely irrational part of you that just wants to shout "why me" and "it isn't fair". I saw your other thread and it seems there is lots of great MN experience out there to draw on and fingers crossed for your appointment - hoping you may get a cancellation or get BFP before and get bumped up the list
So glad you made up with DH before the results. {{{{Big Hugs}}}}

3Cats Know what you mean about the run up to OV and an unco-operative DH have been there before! My DH has been away all this week and ov is due any day now so although it is not ideal I feel a lot less stressed and hopefuly he will too!! He is back tonight so lets hope we have missed each other enough to manage a stress-free OV for once! (Plate samshing can feel really good though )
We have just begun the testing rollercoaster also -GP agreed to start tests in Feb after I had an ovarian reserve blood test done by a natural health doc I use which flagged me up as in the low ertility range (so quality and quantity of eggs is much lower than normal for my age)We have been TTC since March 06 so went back to GP and have now had 2 CD21 tests since then (both good) one sperm test and have a second booked for early May. We have just gotten a private referral to the consultant because I am prepared to pay for the initial investigation to at least see if we have a fixable problem IYKWIM as with my eggs shrivelling by the day I feel like time is really limited - our first appointment with the Fertility Gyny is in 2 weeks

Re your DH's sprem test September is mad?? When the GP requsted the first one in Feb we were given a date in April and when I told our GP he called and got them to move it up to March so maybe it is worth badgering your GP??

City hope you are having a fab holday and shopping like mad (Ohh Abercrombie & Fitch is my fav US store - I am so )

rattling Yay for the temp rise - nice one

Ready Temps are looking good - I think your BD efforts are well impressive and chart looks text book perfection. It is so hard to continue BD after the big week - after all my lunar fertility research I really think it is worth a try - but never seem to be able to make it happen must try harder again!!

Mum03 I am trying to be with you this month on a more laid back attitude to temping - I have temped for the last couple of days and to see where we are at but I think my charts are so boringly regular that it is always the same anyway!? Plus DH hates the beeping thermometer every morning!

Hope everyone is doing OK
Rah I know you are kind of having a month off charting but sending you big hugs and positive vibes

MrsMcJnr · 27/04/2007 23:42

Thank you Seaside

Our new charNew threadhere

MrsMcJnr · 27/04/2007 23:43

can you tell I'm getting tired?! that should have been - new chart spotting thread here!

Ready · 29/04/2007 10:06

I just wanted to apologise for being a really naff MN mate at the moment... my temp dropped dramatically this morning, which signals the game is up - again. And I just can't seem to find the energy to be my usual sparkly self. I will be back soon - as sure as night follows day hey!!

I am thinking of you all

cityangel · 29/04/2007 15:31

Hi everyone. Holiday is fun. Sitting here waiting for the airport taxi... going to Florida

AF today so I can sympathise with you Ready cycle buddy. Still not too upset as we didn't try enough last month (after nearly not trying at all) and it would be really bad timing for the new job. AF on the beach sucks but having cocktails doesn't!

Seaside you must be skinny. I can only get into the mens clothes at Abercrombie

MrsMC sorry about your tests. Here's hoping medical advances and investigation can offer a way forward and advice.

3catsoo we have the same delay for Dh's sperm test. Let me know if you find a way round it?

Big hugs to everyone I missed. I haven't had the time to read through.

mum03 · 29/04/2007 19:42

Ready -
Cityangel -

Ready - I am so sad to hear that that you are feeling so upset about wanting to be a mother. I can truely empathise with that feeling and it is one that I will never forget having. The pain is so strong. But you are stronger Ready and you will get through this. Try to be kind to yourself, if you need to get away from where you are - do it, take a break, run away for a bit and then when your strength has returned, the world will not seem such a cruel place, and you will be able to move ahead. I have never heard you so down as you have been this cycle, please let us know if there is anything that we can do to help you.

3catstoo · 30/04/2007 11:38

Sorry about AFs Ready and City.

Good idea to create another chart thread. Now I just have to remember what to do.

DH is still being a bit awkward (sp?)with me.

Today I had a feint line on the OPK, not really feint but still not as bright pink as the control line. These tests confuse me. I think Ov is going to be today or tomorrow, so could the feint line just be building up?
I don't think DH is in the mood for a week of bding .
He gets really peed off lately if I haven't managed to do all the housework and produce a balanced meal for his return. (I am a cheese lover but DH doesn't like to eat too much dairy stuff. I do cook everything myself but if it's got cheese in he moans. He wasn't too happy when last week I made a veggie lasagne followed by a spanish totilla the night after. I find it very wearing (sp?)).

Sorry had a bit of a DH moan there.

Will be bacl later to catch up.

MrsMcJnr · 30/04/2007 15:53

Ready and Cityangell I?m sorry, I hope you are both ok. The first few days of the new cycle are the worst aren?t they? Sending hugs.

Cityangel ? enjoy those cocktails without any guilt whatsoever! I?m not skinny and I have an A&F jumper!

Rattling ? fingers crossed for you

Mum03 ? your post for Ready was lovely and very wise advice

3Cats ? sorry to hear about DH it is hard enough TTC when you are both enthusiastic, never mind having the additional stress of will they or won?t they help me to achieve this I really feel for you. I know what you mean about the OPKs, I like the ones where you get a line or not a fainter line meaning ?ive I guess a lighter line could be less LH than is needed to OV at that stage? My DH won?t eat an evening meal without meat in it it is so annoying especially when we?d both benefit from the reduction in calories. It sounds like there is a bit of tension in your house at the mo and no wonder

God knows what is going on with me, after a good +opk and related CM, my levels of progesterone don?t seem that good as the thermal shift is still to happen

MrsMcJnr · 30/04/2007 21:28

software has changed OV from Thurs to Fri making BD this cycle even worese one "best" but the rest "low" or "very low" at least I had one "good" before it change the Ov date

Ready · 01/05/2007 11:24

Right... had to know what all this A&F excitement was about - I thought it was all "dude" clothing - so had a nosy, and I like this

Seaside - Excellent effort on the chart!! Way to go! Fingers and toes crossed it pays off!! But remember to get your moon phase day covered too

MrsMc - If the chart is right, you got one in before and after ov, so that is not bad is it!? Remember it only takes one!

3cats - Sounds like things are really stressful for you at the moment (hug) - sorry to hear that there is tension. V [shocked] at the food war - if DH didn't eat what I cooked - he'd go hungry. I can't see why a couple of dishes with cheese in deserves a moan - is there something on his mind at work, and perhaps he is deflecting it by picking silly fights. Hope you are ok?
I am not an expert with the OPKs, but I think you are right, faint lines signal a build up. Seaside and MrsMc both test a couple of times if a faint line appears. It is usually a good sign... they'll be able to better guide you.

Rattling - Did the GP give you a plan of action after DH results? I know that dietary changes can have an effect! It's definitely worth a try isn't it!

Mum03 - I don't think I have felt as down as I did last week. It was awful. A real low. But I am on the up again. I don't know what it is, but I can't seem to stay low. A true glutton for punishment hey! Fingers and toes crossed for you! I know you feel that Cd1 is approaching - but while there is still hope. I will keep hoping

Cityangel - I hope you are having a lovely time! Have a cocktail for me chick!! Strawberry Dacquiri is one of my old faves! How's it feeling not temping? I am toying with having a month off soon! Cold-turkey

Hope everyone is grand!

3catstoo · 01/05/2007 14:00

Hi ready, I'm glad you cleared that one up for me, I was wondering what A & F stood for. Am I totally uncool?

I'm good, thanks for asking.
How are you doing today?

DH gets a bit like this over food. He thinks he's going to have a heart attack if I feed him too much dairy stuff.
He's being a bit naughty at the mo. I think he's using these little things to distance himself from me as he knows it's peak time coming up. I am going to try and dress to impress this evening to tempt him . Although I need some caffeine first to keep me awake until then .

I got another feint line on the opk today. I have marked both feint lines as +ve on ovusoft, I will change it if I get a proper +ve.
I only have 3 more chances this cycle as DH goes away very early Friday morning. Hopefully Ov will happen in the next 2 days.

Hope you're having a fab time City.

MrsMc, it is so frustrating when Ov keeps moving, I do feel for you.

seaside72 · 01/05/2007 14:27

3Cats - My tip on the the opks is to test in the afternoon 2-6pm -as soon as you get a faint line then test again before bed -and then twice a day until you see strongest line. It seems to work really well for me. This month I did my first test at midnight on CD11 (cos I am so boringly regular I can pretty much predict what will happen before I pee IYKWIM!!) and it was nice and strong so I tested again at 5pm the next day and it was still strong- then by midnight that night it had faded a bit and by the 5pm the next day CD14 it was quite faint again.

However after all that FF still seems to think I ov on CD12 when I am sure it was CD13??

Oh btw A&F stands for Abercrombie and Fitch - it is a really nice US clothes shop - all kinds of vintage jeans and preppy things - but the male models and usually the sales assistants are droolworthy!! check out the website! Actually they have just opened a shop in London - arghh the temptation
Also - so sorry about DH stress -(My DH cooks for me at least ahlf the time but I know I am very lucky and I have to sa he does not even know what housework is!! it is so hard to know how best to deal with the complicated male species and their emotions

Ready - thanks for the compliment on BD effort - coming from the a master like you that is much apprreciated!! I am still a bit in shock that we managed it - am going to give him a rest tonight but am scared if we stop we wont start again like most months and I really want to have a few more "gos" before AF just to prove that we can IYKWIM (LOL - sounds like I am talikng about a fairground ride or somethng)

seaside72 · 01/05/2007 14:29

oops just realised that Ready posted a link for A&F already - but sod the clothes- this is what I was talking about drool

MrsMcJnr · 01/05/2007 14:48

Ready ? You sound more perky again I am so glad. Re my chart and chances, I know I have one good one hon just wish there were more shots at goal in there, that said, it was a full moon last night I think so I am close to my ideal moon date I think!

3Cats ? really hope you manage to shatter DH?s defences this evening This cycle, this is how I used my OPKs:

cd13 ? 7pm ?ive
cd14 ? 11am ?ive & 7pm ?ive
cd15 ? 11.15am ?ive & 5pm ?ive
cd16 ? 12pm +ive
cd17 ? 12pm ?ive & 7pm ?ive

Now, I know that your LH levels can rise and then drop and you don?t OV and that is why some people say they are unpredictable but on the basis of those tests, I still think I OVd between 12pm cd16 and 12pm cd17 don?t you?

Hi Seaside ? see your software and OPKs are in conflict like mine! Very of your efforts!! Good luck you!

3catstoo · 01/05/2007 16:07

Thanks for the advise on the opks. For the last 2 days I've tested twice a day. I only have 3 tests left now, out of 10! I started testing early, just in case. I guess as DH is away from Fri, I won't need to test anyway. So I can use the 3 tests over 2 days. Or should I test again tonight? Oh the stress. I'm getting worse.
So if I get a proper +ve tomorrow, when will Ov be/have been? The software suggests the day after a +ive. If you get 2 +ves it suggests the day after the last +ve.

Sorry I'm going on a bit aren't I.
I think I need a glass of wine to de stress me (and I don't drink).

I'm with you on the models Seaside.

seaside72 · 01/05/2007 17:17

Aha - MrsMc - I think I have figured my software weirdness out. If I enter another highish temp for tomorrow it shifts ov to CD13 which I think is more like it. Maybe your will move again also?

3Cats -You could try some flower essences - they are my new de-stressing tool (and contain a teenie bit of brandy !)
I am using White Chestnut and She Oak (ordered online).
Glad you liked the models -

Ready · 01/05/2007 20:51

Seaside - at the A&F new face reel
I completely agree with you ? FF is wrong, I can?t understand why it has put OV as 12 ? it?s clearly 13. I wonder why it has done that But I have had that, it put it as a day I knew I hadn?t ovulated, so I put in a figure and it changed ? so if that will happen for you too ? then panic over
? I am hardly a master ? if I was I wouldn?t still be ttc would I? I think it is a good idea to have a rest - fingers crossed you keep it going throughout the rest of your cycle ? making sure the moon-phase day gets a special treat

3cats - I?m feeling more chipper now, thanks. How are you? Men can be funny can?t they! ROFL at thinking cheese will give him a heart attack Although, I know it?s not a laughing matter when you are dealing with it . Fingers crossed you get a +ve OPK before Friday! I know the first month I used them I got so stressed by them, ran out of 10 and ovulated late on 19 (unheard of for me!) ? so I can empathise with the confusion.

MrsMc - I am feeling more chipper, thanks! I giggled at your ?shots at goal? analogy ? I know what you mean! I am not too sure I understand the OPKs all that well ? I thought that a + signalled that OV would occur between 24-36 hours?? I thought that the LH triggers the ovulating process, so the hormone will fall again before the egg is out ? am I completely bonkers with this? I realise it isn?t helping pinpoint ovulation for you either

City - Hope you are having a wonderful time!

cityangel · 02/05/2007 05:36

Hi everyone xxx just checking in for 5 minutes.

I apologise in advance Ready for the holiday references. I don't miss temping but I will miss the CBFM. It works. However I don't plan on giving that up. I paid good money for the damn thing why wouldn't I use it? Even if it has to be in secret.

MrsMc sorry to hear about your results. It seems the MN community have been very helpful in sharing experiences. What did the doc say is the next step? Its good to be armed with knowledge but ultimately frustrating if there's no easy way forward. What referal options are available?

Have you booked your holiday? Fancy meeting in a London airport for a beer? Or Manchester with Ready?

Dh is looking grumpy again. Your dh will sympathise. Our team lost today :0( Man U play tomorrow. I finally found evening primrose oil here so AF symptoms are way better.

We are due some BFPs who is next? 3catsoo, seaside, mum03 & everyone I am running out of time here... I hope you are all doing good xxx It's nice to catch up with everyone wherever I am. xxx CA

3catstoo · 02/05/2007 13:38

I just awnt to say thankyou for the advise on opks.

I tested again last night, 8pm, and got a positive. By 12 o clock today there was the faintest line ever, only just visible (so I put -ve). Now today is my Ov day.

Well the football won last night, despite my efforts . It wasn't even DHs team playing!
We had a bit of a row in bed, but he did finally give in and as he put it 'you got your way and got what you wanted, my sperm!'
Charming!! (but true)

More footy tonight and I really don't fancy my chances. Lets hope last nights efforts were good enough. I have one good and one best. Tonight would be even better but that might be pushing my luck.

Hi city, good to hear from you.

I'll just go for a chart spot and come back.
