Yum was in need of a new thread, and I thought the title was apt because it's not just TCOYF charts anymore... hope it's ok?? I don't want anyone to think I am taking over

Just needing something, anything, to take my mind OFF my impending doom

OP posts:
3catstoo · 23/04/2007 10:46

Morning ladies.
How are we all today?

I'm off for a chart spot now.
See you later.

cityangel · 23/04/2007 11:14

I'm getting very irritated with my software it keeps doing wierd things but tomorrow is my last day temping for a month

Still I'll be away for 2 weeks in a different time zone so that would have messed them up anyway.

How is everyone else. It's been very quiet in here?

3catstoo · 23/04/2007 13:53

It is quiet.

When are you off City?

Ready · 23/04/2007 14:08

Had a wee chart spot... not really sure who is on this thread and who is on the temp buddies one...

It is very quiet on here at the moment, I have said that on a couple of threads - it seems the sparkle is missing

City - I think that your OV should show as CD19 personally - what do you think?? Have a lovely time, and try not to think about ttc - impossible I suspect.

3cats - How are you doing?

MrsMc - I saw on the other thread you are back at work and getting the icy shoulder. That is not on. Hope you are ok. Don't let them worry you - eejits!

3catstoo · 23/04/2007 15:50

Hi Ready.

I got one of my blood test results back today. Thyroid function. It is far too high, whatever that means. I have to call my gp tomorrow to discuss it with him and get the other 3 results.

Anyone have any idea what a high thyroid function means?

MrsMcJnr · 23/04/2007 16:26

Sorry I've been away so long. I'll try and catch up but bear with me! I have been missing you all!! How are you???

MrsMcJnr · 23/04/2007 16:55

3cats ? sorry to hear that AF arrived. Glad that appointment was ok though. Hope the tests go ok. You sound so down, sending huge hugs. I hope you are feeling better. I had the worst migraine I?ve ever had last Weds. Totally blinded, it was horrible. Sorry to hear about the elevated thyroid, don?t know what that means but will check my book when I get back for you. I had mine checked last week too, it came back fine so not my excuse for being fat

Cityangel ? quite a dilemma! I know what you mean on all counts though. I?d find it really hard to give up TTC but at the end of the day, a short break might make all the difference to the rest of your life and none to TTC. It is so hard to know what?s best! Go with your gut, that?s all you can do. PMSL at your expensive shag! wouldn?t that just be sods law to fall now?!

Glad the appointment went well. It is so annoying when they dismiss charting and tell us its causing stress?! I feel so much worse without it and having been the proud owner of a BFP even if only for a little while, I can say with confidence that I am a believer as my chart did all the things the book said it would. Great that the ultrasound went well

Ready ? I checked the TW book for under 36 degree readings when I got so many of them in the past. As you know, my pre-OV temps are consistently under 36. I know that consistently getting really low ones with not much elevation for OV can be a sign of thyroid issues however, the ones I have are still in the normal range (35.8 -35.9) and I now know for sure that my thyroid is fine as it was tested last week I?ll check the range for you again tonight.

Duchesse ? thank you for explaining that, it was really interesting

Seaside ? sorry about AF

Hello Rubles

I?ll have a chart spot tonight ladies and I promise not to fall so far behind again

3catstoo · 23/04/2007 17:35

Hi MrsMc. Nice to see you again, iyswim.
Sorry to hear about your migraine, horrid things they are.

Well I've read up on my test results. They indicate that I have an underactive thyroid. One of the symptoms is infertility!
An answer at last. My SIL has it and has to be on drugs forever with a higher dose to get pregnant. She had her dose increased and fell pg after a few months.
She lives in Germany, where it is more common. Eating lots of fish and salt can help but as a veggie who eats very little salt, I'm not in the best position.
Hopefully my GP will enlighten me tomorrow.

cityangel · 23/04/2007 18:40

Hello everyone... I'm still at work

Still off to Heathrow tomorrow evening and then the US yipee

I don't think I'll be too stressed about not temping when away i think its when I am back I like the info from that and the CBFM. Still I could sneak the CBFM to work for 9/10 am tests but that would be deceitful

I am happy just swamped with work!

Stupid software is odd this month and I agree CD19 looks likely but I'll just wait and see now. If not (most likely) I can have a cocktail on the beach!

How is everyone else? Sounds like we're all a bit fed up?

Ready · 24/04/2007 11:05

I am thoroughly fed up today. No positivity, pre-menstrual tummy niggles ? certain the game is up, and I am sick to the back teeth of the whole thing. What is wrong with my stupid body

3cats - Sorry to hear about your thyroid. When you temped, did you have consistent temps below 36 degrees? ? it?s just I have been wondering about lower temps for a while now in connection with thyroid issues. What other symptoms do you have? If any? Sorry for all the questions, I hope you don?t mind? When do you call your doctor to discuss the way forward, it is good to know that there is medication you can take while trying to conceive.

Cityangel - Have a wonderful trip ? relax and enjoy! I would be inclined to see how you feel while you are away, and then when you get back you might not even think about temping/monitoring. I am terrible at lying (probably a good thing) and I wouldn?t be able to temp if DH and I had agreed I wouldn?t? but with you on the temptation factor though

MrsMc - Thanks for researching the temps for me. I wonder if you would cast an eye at my chart, if/when you have the time ? just to see if you think the difference/elevation between pre-ov temps and post-ov temps is good enough?? I have started to worry about the one or 2 below 36 temps, even though I didn?t get any this cycle, or last, and only 1 the cycle before ? hardly consistent ? but I can?t stop thinking about it . My book quotes 35.6 to 36.7 pre-ov as ?considered normal? - and I just don't know what to think!
Glad to hear your thyroid is fine ? but you are not fat Your migraine sounded awful ? your body really is telling you to relax isn?t it. Big Hug.

3catstoo · 24/04/2007 12:03

Ready - big hugs to you.

We're all in a bit of a pickle this month.

I have to call the doc this afternoon. Not quite sure what he will do.

I'm curious to find out what the other results show (LH, FSH and prolactin).

Have a fab time City.

mum03 · 24/04/2007 12:16

Ready - that you are , I came to get some of your positivity today, but I see you need some instead. here have a whole bunch of it +++++++++++++ Wish I had a bunch of flowers smilie - would send that too you. The end of the 2ww is the worst ever.

3cats - it is good to have an answer, it should mean that the docs can help. I hope the doc is really helpful for you this afternoon.

Cityangel - hope you manage to have some fun and distraction while you are away to help resist the temptation to focus on ttc, it is not easy.

MrsMcJnr · 24/04/2007 16:17

Hi 3cats ? sorry to hear about your thyroid I think over and underactive can be an issue for fertility but sometimes have no impact. Hopefully you can get medicated and start to feel much better (and fall pregnant!) very soon. Hope the GP appointment goes well today.

Cityangel ? hope you have a great trip! If you find out any American baby making secrets, be sure to pass them on! Fingers crossed that it?ll be a virgin cocktail you sip on that beach!

Ready ? hon, it?s just a numbers game, there?s nothing wrong with you. Please try not to stress about the thyroid thing. I have had a look at your chart and it looks perfect you have a range from 36.1 to 36.7 and all the rises and dips are where they should be. Have a look at my charts (not the latest 2 but the ones before) nothing wrong with my thyroid and look at my low temps! 3Cats temps will be higher not lower (if different) lower temps suggest under active not over active. Couldn?t find the bit in my book last night but I?ll look again for you tonight. Hope you feel much better soon hon, you never know, this could be your lucky cycle and here you are all down! The bean could get in a huff!

Mum03 ? hello pretty chart when is AF/testing due?

Sunshinedays ? how are you getting on? Cd9?

Wow Rah ? what a steady temp you have!

Rattling ? how are you? Coming up to OV?

Cedar ? where are you hon? Missed you! You are in the home strait now!

Fingers crossed Iwillbe!

3catstoo · 25/04/2007 13:21

Hi everyone,

I can't keep track of who's on here and who's not. Has everyone deserted this thread?

My GP told me that I have compensating hypothyroid. It means it's just the start, so I shouldn't be showing any symptoms. He is going to retest in 2 months to see if it has increased again. At the moment it should not be effecting my fertility.
The LH, FSH and prolactin were normal.

So still no clearer.

I got my appt for the HSG (xray and dye)for late May(AF should have finished but I won't have Ov'd either so great timing. It means we do not have to abstain!). DH has to wait until September for the semen analysis though. The consultant wants to delay my next appt with her until after DHs test . I've just brought it forward based on my HSG date, now she wants to change it again.

I must go and chart spot, if I can figure out who's still here.

MrsMcJnr · 25/04/2007 21:48

I'm here 3cats

The news from the GP about your thyroid sounds better than you feared good about the other results too and the timing of the HSG. Shame about the semen analysis, is DH taking vits etc already? might be an idea if you can persuade him.

My DH is in a stinking mood no BD last night and can't see him agreeing tonight as he's hardly said a word to me and I got a +ive OPK today so timing is crucial. He seems to have forgotten all his guilt about not trying hard enough before. I really am very angry with him tonight he is SO selfish (all this stems from his football team playing badly last night - pathetic if you ask me!)

cityangel · 26/04/2007 04:02

Hi everyone

Have discovered internet in Atlanta (obviously not the first person to do this)!

Just wanted to say thanks for your wonderful messages. The support means a lot to me. After over a day on two planes I had a lot to think about. I plan to chill out and don't mind temporarily giving up temping but the CBFM really is useful

You're right though Ready lying would be counter productive

Ready, really hoping you're feeling better than your post sounded. If it helps I felt exactly the same last month. Come to London for a moan and a cocktail

Having the fertility expert telling us to be patient, it takes ages... really doesn't help as I can name several people our age who have fallen quickly. He seemed to be reading from a tired script

Our next official consultant appointment is August. So to anyone out there considering investigation you need to consider the timelines and factor in waiting. Went to the Doc Feb. First appointment April. Tests April - June Second Appointment August. It will be a 4 month waiting period between doc trip and first sperm test.

MrsMC sorry to hear about your row. Dh and I have been under work stress too. Sometimes when you know someone too well its all to easy to push all the wrong buttons in a silly row.

3catsoo it sounds tough trying to interpret the tests. We're following suit and I agree the waiting time is tough, particularly when it interfers with the whole process.

Right I'm off dh is standing in the hotel lobby suggesting I chat to MN tomorrow... he may have a point as we have been up hours and big jet lag is kicking in.

Really hope you all have a great weekend.

Cityangel in Atlanta

3catstoo · 26/04/2007 09:42

Hi Guys.

Sorry to hear you and your Dh are not seeing eye to eye, Mrsmc. Football matches have alot to answer for in this house too. More often than not, DHs team lose!

Fingers crossed for you tonight. Can you do anything to calm the air?

I need to 'be nice' tonight as I am still aiming for every other day

We had a bad night last night too. My fault this time. PTA fallings out and basically playground behaviour from grown women. I can't put up with that. I have too short a temper to sit and take it.
So after giving the PTA a piece of my mind I was sao worked up when DH got home, I was not in the mood to clear up the kitchen (I may have smashed plates!)so DH did it whilst moaning about what I had done all day.

Good to hear from you City. The waiting is so hard isn't it. Your timings are similar to mine. Saw GP in Jan. Saw fertility clinic apr. Tests Apr-May. 2nd appt Aug. Sperm test sometime around Sept.

Hope your stay in Atlanta is fab.

Ready · 26/04/2007 11:30

Mum03 - thanks for the virtual flowers they smell lovely Cheered me up no end! Hope you are feeling a little more chipper? How?s it going with the not temping

MrsMc - So sorry about the tension in your house right now! I can totally sympathise with a bad football result affecting the mood. DH is a nightmare when he plays badly, or doesn?t play at all, and even if he plays, plays well but the team lose ? there is still no hope for the mood. Saturday nights are so dependent on performances and results! Midweek games too [argh] ? I am sure it doesn?t help, but you are not alone! DH goes very quiet and no matter what I try to do to lift his spirits, it rarely works!
Thanks for looking at my chart. And glad to hear that you think it looks ok. I do too ? but I am sure you understand the irrational worrying I giggled at the thought of my bean getting in a huff with my mood ? has helped me snap out of it somewhat ? so thanks for that

3cats - Fingers crossed that your next thyroid tests show nothing. In the mean time, stick some salt in your lentils
Sorry for all the messing about with the consultant appointment dates. It?s a shame they can?t do the semen analysis sooner. It got me wondering how many people out there are having fertility investigations ? scary thought!
OMG smash plates ? poor you! You must have been really angry! Doesn?t sound like the PTA is something to be looking forward to! Sorry to hear that there is friction in your house too. Hug.

Cityangel - Well done on your internet discovery! PMSL at your DH standing in the lobby and you typing on MN. Chuckle! Hope you are having a fabulous time chick!! We are both at the same time with ttc, so we are bound to be feeling similar emotions! It is lovely to have people that understand isn?t it! And I know what you mean about the doctor just reading from a tired script! It?s so frustrating when you see these people fall at the drop of a hat (or the drop of their knickers !) ? but I guess there is no point in being angry about others, it won?t make us fall quicker. Easy said though! If I lived closer, I would definitely take you up on that cocktail invitation!!

So? if you have looked at my chart today ? you will see a big dip in temp. I left the window open last night, and wonder if that had anything to do with it?? Probably just clutching at straws!
So much for carrying on with the sex post ovulation ? that was the plan - but it hasn?t quite materialised. In our defence (hahaha!) we have been really busy, decorating is exhausting work! Do you think that could be why we haven?t conceived in these 8 cycles?

mum03 · 26/04/2007 11:32

Just started working part-time again (rather than full-time), so switching off the alarm clock has helped no end in stopping me temping !!! Am feeling decidedly undecided about this month!!!!

Ready · 26/04/2007 11:33

That last bit about me was aimed at all - not just City

rattling · 26/04/2007 12:40

Ready - Looks like you timed everything perfectly this month. Have you considered the implantation temp. dip? If you do get pregnant this cycle we'll all be symptom spotting for depression around fertilisation .

Ready · 26/04/2007 16:12

Oh No!!!! You didn't mention Implantation Dip did you?? I keep refusing to allow myself time to think it could be that. I guess we will see what temp is tomorrow. My tummy is getting mild cramps... Oh who sodding knows

Ready · 26/04/2007 16:13

That little mini strop was not aimed at anyone on here... sorry.

MrsMcJnr · 26/04/2007 19:32

Hello Citychangeangel! row got much worse and I slept in another room and cried for hours. Maybe I needed that. Have made up with DH now as can?t bear being cross with him. Probably just as well as I needed his support when I got my blood clotting results out of the blue today. The GP called to say I do have a blood clotting disorder and I am being referred for specialist advice on pregnancy in particular. Felt in shock all afternoon. Now really scared that the path ahead will be a very rocky one. Keep having fun!

3Cats ? men and football hey! I also found out today that he came last in the laser quest challenge that they had at his team away day ? that wouldn?t have gone down well either! As you can see from above, things only got worse!! It makes me very cross though having to be nice for what we want; after all, they want the same outcome! You smashed plates !!

Hey Ready how are you? I am sure the football moods are much worse in our house, I do empathise! Mine goes quiet too but you can still sense the undertone. Glad my pep talk on your chart helped.

Mum03 ? I am jealous as hell

Rattling ? very good point, add those to the 2ww symptoms!

I?ll go for a chart spot?.

MrsMcJnr · 26/04/2007 19:41

Think we need a new chart spotting thread don?t you ? it kind of gets me sad to see all the ladies we have lost for the wrong reasons, shall we have a new one?

What?s happened with you Iwillbe?

It IS an interesting dip Ready!!

How you feeling about things Cedar?
