Just needing something, anything, to take my mind OFF my impending doom

HI guys.

We all seem to have hit another 'it's never going to happen' phase. I'm there too .
Can't believe a year has passed already and again tests all fine but still not pg.

I really thought that I had cracked it last month. I had no spotting before AF.

Now I feel like AF is about to hit again on CD ! I've broken out in spots big time, I have a migraine and feel tearful.
I will start the opks today but don't know why.

DH wants to stop trying at the end of September if nothing has happened by then. He has his test in 3 weeks. Although the GP says he doesn't think DH will have anything wrong.

City, is AF due soon then? Fingers crossed she doesn't arrive. Vegas sounds like a fab idea though. Holidays are meant to be the key, if they are at the right time (mine always seem to coincide with AF)

Ready, where are you moving to? Good luck with that.

Hi Rattling, how are you?

Ready · 23/08/2007 18:05

Rattling - Yes chick!! The positive Ready is back in town! Goodness only knows why - So sorry that you weren't rewarded this month. I feel for you. I was so excited, and hopeful for you. Come on number 21 cycle - be the one for Rattling You deserve it flower, you really do! Just remind me, what tests have you had done? I don't know if you have seen, but we have just had our tests. It's a weird time. Hope you are ok?

3cats - I am with you with the headache and spots meaning only one thing on the horizon! Sorry that you are feeling despondent. And sorry that your DH wants to stop trying. Just out of curiousity, does that mean he wants you to go on the pill or something? Or just stop active ttc? Sorry if that is nosy .
Where are we moving to? Well that is the $54,000 question - as yet, destination unknown. DH not fixed up, have been some problems in that area. The sale of our house is nearing completion though, and our things will go into storage. We will, well, I don't know what we will do - I am surprisingly calm about it

rattling · 24/08/2007 09:47

Ready - Still waiting for our referral to SFU. The wait is 6 months here at the moment - we should hear in October about an appointment in November. I've had day 21 progesterone levels checked (fine) and DH has had a couple of sperm tests - not so fine, low motility, poor morphology, though huge amounts of them!! So he is on many pills and a painfully reduced alcohol allowance. He works in the wine industry so that is a tough one for him!

He's going to be very cross if there is no improvement when he is tested again.

All your tests came back looking good didn't they? So it must just be a matter of time - hope not too much.

And I hope you find somewhere to live very soon - that must be very stressful, can't be helping.

Ready · 24/08/2007 15:42

Rattling - Yeah, all tests look good, DH morphology was a little lower than norm, but quantity was way higher than the norm, so it balanced it out. If that makes sense?
Hope you get your appointment through soon. Although, of course I hope that you don't need it. I hope you fall really soon. What tablets have you got your DH on? Just the regular vits? I make DH take selenium, zinc and Vits A,C,E.

3catstoo · 10/09/2007 13:39

Hi Ladies,

What has happened to this thread?

It's been deserted.

Hope you are all well.

Well AF was due yesterday but despite 2 -ve tests (1 was a day early), it has not arrived yet. It's keeping me waiting this month.

DH has his test tomorrow morning.

DH says we can try for 2 more cycles and then we're stopping.

I don't agree, of course, but he's certain .

Hopefully someone on here will have some good news soon.

cityangel · 11/09/2007 00:50

Hey 3catsoo I don't know what happened to the thread either. I went on holiday and lost track

I really hope things work out for you. It sounds quite presurised. Big hugs. How are you feeling?

I only found some people on the Ready over here thread.

3catstoo · 13/09/2007 12:13

HI City.

how are things with you?

My AF arrived 2 whole days late, on Tuesday evening.

DH had his test on Tuesday. The results are back today but the hospital won't tell me. DH has to phone for himself, a bit difficult when you are in an open plan office.

I have left him a message with the number to call anyway.

So back to square 1 again.

I shall make sure I buy loads of opks this time. I ran out last time and I think I misread the lines so we probably tried too hard too early, judging by when AF came anyway !

Ready · 13/09/2007 16:51

Phew!! I thought that I had killed this thread when I posted in August

Sorry to hear that you are in your next cycle 3cats - It's frustrating when a period is late, it gives a glimmer of hope - and sorry to hear that your DH is adamant that the trying will not continue... Hey you never know, things happen when people stop trying?
Hope his results are all a-ok! It's frustrating that they can't tell us, but then it's to be expected
How are you?

City - You said on the other thread that you were really optimistic this month!! Where abouts are you in your cycle? My fingers and toes are crossed for you!!
How are you?

Is there anyone still lurking?? Do pop in

3catstoo · 13/09/2007 18:47

Nice to hear from you ready, how are you?

Well Dh called for his results and they told him they don't give them out over the phone. They will have to write to him as he can't make the next clinic appt in Oct. Plus even at the appt they can't give me the results.

cityangel · 14/09/2007 11:40

Hi Ready CD23 - not feeling optimistic any more as I remembered that's a pointless monthly emotion. Where in your cycle are you?

3catsoo that's really tough having to wait. Hopefully it doesn't mean there's a problem just that they're following procedure. How is he doing?

3catstoo · 14/09/2007 14:49

I think DH thinks there is a problem and that's why they won't tell him over the phone.

Not sure if it bothers him, afterall it's me that wants the baby desperately, not him .

I am so impatient though. If I'm told I can get results on a particular day, then that's when I want them (she says whilst stamping her feet like a spoilt brat!)

Here's to a positive weekend (and a positive everything really).

xxxxxx

Ready · 14/09/2007 14:57

I am sure it is just standard practice 3cats - it's not like a yes or no result. There are lots of facets. I am sorry you feel like DH isn't too bothered. Fingers are crossed for you. Not too bad here, just stressing over a million things. But I'll get there.

City - I am CD16 - crucial time! I know what you mean about the pointless monthly emotion. I am with you. I feel particularly BLAH today. Everything in life is testing me at the moment.

cityangel · 15/09/2007 14:15

Sorry to hear about the testing here's hoping things get better

3catstoo · 18/09/2007 10:17

Well DHs sample was borderline to satisfactory !? No other info !

Our GP is requesting more info.

Hope you are well.

MrsMcJnr · 18/09/2007 16:00

Ladies, I hope you don?t mind, I am just popping in to say hello and to see how you are and to say that I miss you wishing there was something I could do to help you over to the other side.

3Cats ? hello old friend. Sorry to hear that AF turned up and that DH has set an ultimatum it?s good news that his sample was ok though isn?t it? Are you still doing the ZW routine? And if so, is it helping you? How about your thyroid? Sorry about all the questions

Cityangel ? hey you how is it going at Barts? Great that DH?s sperm is within the normal range I so hope things happen for you soon. When?s Vegas? Love it there!

Rattling ? I hope there is improvement when DH next gets sampled, booze reduction must be hard in his industry. I hope you are doing ok

Hello Ready talking to you elsewhere so won?t repeat here

cityangel · 18/09/2007 23:24

MrsMC how great to hear from you! How far along are you? I hope you brought a bag of baby dust with you! Please stay in touch and pop in as often as you like!

Vegas next month do you recommend anywhere?
I am really looking forward to it

Barts is ongoing but fundamentally no explanations other than patience found yet! So fingers crossed. Gave it a good go this month but am really not expecting anything to happen any more.

Ready your dh will have a right laugh I went all the way over to the bridge tonight only to watch 30+ missed shots on goal

3catstoo how are yoooo?

3catstoo · 19/09/2007 10:02

Just a quick one.

Nice to hear from you MrsMc.

DHs test results were :
78 million per ml (normal is 20 million) but a percentage (not told) were not moving quickly or not properly formed.

MrsMcJnr · 19/09/2007 12:03

Thanks Cityangel I?m 23 weeks now ? getting more excited than scared now but that makes me scared too if you know what I mean, this baby is already a massive part of our lives, I couldn?t bear it if things went wrong now ? must keep positive though and remember that everything is fine so far ? constantly repeating the mantra from the Pg after MC thread ? healthy and well, healthy and well! of course I brought dust with me!

Vegas is amazing ? we went in 2003 November time with 2 other couples to celebrate a 30th, it was SO much fun we stayed in the Luxor and a ride in the inclinator (just a lift but goes sideways) is worth it! I loved walking around all the hotels, they are really magical! We also did a limo trip down town to see the real Vegas and a helicopter ride into the Grand Canyon ? that was incredible and a must I think. The best restaurants we thought were in the Manderley Bay, we went to about 3 in there ? all amazing. Ohhhh you?ll have such fun! Shopping was amazing too, much better than NYC, the Tiffany?s in the Belagio is worth checking out as is the huge Macy?s at the far end of the Strip (I bought a lovely evening dress there for next to nothing) make sure you tell me all about it when you get back.

Re Barts - It must be so hard being told all is fine on the one hand because it?s harder to find something to do differently and to accept that it is just not down to anything that we can actively control ? who knows why it works on one occasion but not others, it is a real mystery to me, on the other hand, it?s fab that all is ok I so hope it happens for you soon hon x

3cats ? wow that?s a lot of sperm per ml! hope that the one of the good percentage gets through very very soon. Can they tell whether DH?s sperm has always been that way or if it has changed over time? xx

3catstoo · 19/09/2007 13:29

Hi again Ladies,

Sorry it was so brief earlier, I had to dash to a Clic coffee morning with some cakes.

23 weeks MrsMc, where did that time go?
Glad you are feeling excited now.

City, it is frustrating when there is no obvious reason for not getting pg. ((((hugs))))

I keep being told that it takes an average of 14 months to get pg. No help though !

DHs count did seem high but they didn't say what percentage were not upto it, iyswim.
It's like getting blood out of a stone, getting any info on results.

DH can't make the next appt and the clinic will not discuss his results with me, even though he has spoken to them about it. No point in going really, as there's no more to discuss on me.

I'm on CD9 today and cm has already started to increase (more than usual). I can see I will need the 20 opks I have ordered.

I haven't done the ZW stuff this time. I might try from this week.

Fingers crossed for us this month City.

Will Vegas be at the right time of the month?

MrsMcJnr · 19/09/2007 18:05

3cats - all the best for this cycle hon and you Cityangel

cityangel · 19/09/2007 23:36

Thanks for all your wonderful messages.

I have lots to reply but no time until the weekend. So excited for you MrsMC hang in there. How is dh doing? recovered from his OP a while back?

3catstoo get them to break down the results in detail and fingers crossed.

Ready, all ok?

AF today 27 CD month shortest yet. After bd ever other day fed up and had to move HSG out a month because of big work clash. Still we are lucky in life and out time will come

3catstoo · 20/09/2007 11:23

Sorry about AF City .

Every other day was good going too.

Big hugs to you.

I'm full of cold and migraine again.
I hate days like this.
I have to go birthday shopping too, I'm so last minute!

MrsMc do you know what you are having or were you not intending to find out?
I'm nosey I know.

Well I must go and put a curry in the slow cooker as it's swimming night tonight.

MrsMcJnr · 20/09/2007 12:11

Oh City ? sorry hon I remember cycles like that where we did as much as we could and nothing happened and then the one we fought and didn?t do anything on the days we should have we got a BFP ? there?s more involved that us isn?t there?! Dh?s back is fine now thanks he is back playing football and it all seems to be a great success. He is getting excited about meeting his baby (talks to it and kisses the bump every day and I think Beanie responds to his voice already ? DH has the most wonderful laugh and I think Beanie likes it as much as I do )

Hey 3cats ? nope, we are expecting a surprise we really want it to stay that way so lets hope no one slips up at any of our scans I think Beanie is boy, don?t know why. Hope you feel much better soon x

Ready · 20/09/2007 12:52

City - I am really sorry that you are into another cycle. Shame you have had to move your HSG. I know I am a total pain the bum when it comes to positivity! But do hang in there - you are right, your time will come. It's hard to realise we are lucky, when the one thing we want the most is not forthcoming. Big hugs flower. Thinking of you. Big hugs.
PS... shocked about Mourinho??

3cats - Blimey, you do suffer with these migraines don't you! Have you done a food diary? To see if there are any triggers?
You really need to get the %s for the results to really make any sense. I am very surprised that you were (well DH) not able to collect a copy of the analysis.

Mrs - I think it is lovely that you are keeping the flavour a surprise. I think that is what I would do too.

Well... still waiting to exchange contracts... the sale of this house has not been smooth, and I am at the end of my tether. Sigh. Being at the top of the chain is quite possibly the worst place to be.

Still I had my long long hair all cut off today! And it feels great!

cityangel · 23/09/2007 23:26

Hey Ready, yes it is a shame to move HSG but hanging on to the job is more important than the appointment as we only lost a month.

How are you doing? Tell dh we're gutted about the football score today and Mourinho etc and between you and me I'm glad I have AF during the football crisis as it doesn't put dh in the mood

I'm actually a really positive person. With that a huge realist and eternally hopeful bunny at the same time

What is making it particularly hard at the moment is that I am just so ready (to coin your name) I really have had 5 years to think about decide and want this and the rest of my life is like going through the motions just to get to this first hurdle (BFP)

Anyways having been in a 6 hour blackout after the kiddie birthday party now that we know (MTD) we lost I'm off to console dh.

One nice thing about RL is that a neighbour came round with £30 worth of fertility/ pregnancy/ kids books to hand down our of the blue... nice to have MN and RL friends looking out for us
