LovePinaColada · 06/08/2017 09:35

Welcome everyone! Good luck! ⭐️

I have decided I am going to have a non-crazy TTC month in September! I am going to concentrate on getting fitter, eating well & just enjoying the TTC journey.

DTD as much as poss without focussing too much on fertile, this fertile that!

Let's do this. ☺️

Sictransitgloria · 06/08/2017 11:58

Pina - amen to that sista. This ttc malark can get very obsessional. I am really going to try and be chill this cycle Easter Smile

Piewraith · 06/08/2017 12:37

Getting on the bus for the first time!

TTC # 1
Age 31
Cycle: 3

AF apparently heard I'm TTC and went on strike, came 5 days late which is unheard of for me (knew I wasn't preg as did a ok a few tests. Anyway glad she's finally shown up so I can start the next cycle. Trying temping this month.

Piewraith · 06/08/2017 13:20

Oh and BFP due Sep 1

LovePinaColada · 06/08/2017 13:26

@Sictransitgloria Can't it just! I have got silly the past couple of months & got so obsessed - I have decided chilling is the way forwards! 😇

Mrsjones17 · 06/08/2017 16:27

@pina. I'm with you on that one! Definitely trying to be more relaxed. No opks this month just dtd as much as we can without it becoming a drama.

@melody I feel your pain we are in cycle 9 this time round....booking a holiday in December as sick of putting things off x

Emz01 · 07/08/2017 09:46

Place marking as got a BFN this morning so moving over from the August bus.

Age 29
Cycle 6
TTC #2
AF/BFP due around 5/9

I will be on holiday abroad when AF/BFP is due, hopefully this will be a nice distraction from wanting to poas.

MiniatureSeaShells · 08/08/2017 16:40

Hello all

I'm the first to admit that I'm perhaps a bit over anxious about TTC, but am I right to feel a bit fed up with my GPs response?

I tried talking to her about my short Luteal phase (I normally start my period 7-8 days after a peak ovulation test) and she instantly dismissed it as not being a problem. What's more, is then went on to say that ovulation tests don't even work and are just there to make companies money.

I worry that my Luteal phase is short due to a hormone issue but she won't engage with that at all. Her only advice was to stop the B6 supplements as apparently that won't do anything either, stop using apps and ovulation kits, don't worry. Easier said than done!

To top it all off she informed me that if I do have problems, by the time that they will assess whether I have any issues (12-14 months), I would most probably have to pay for IVF treatment as the funding is likely to stop in my area.

All in all, I left feeling quite deflated. Would you take her advice and quit tracking? Or would you too be worried about a short Luteal phase?

Needed to her that off my chest! Any advice would be greatly appreciated

juneybean · 08/08/2017 16:53

No I wouldn't stop tracking, I would record it all for when you go back to the GP after 12 cycles and ideally see a different GP!

@MiniatureSeaShells So I'm not too sure I'm the correct person to give out advice as I feel like I'm also going crazy with this whole process. I do believe that if we let the process take on a flow of its own and trust in the process it could happen easier. I believe that being all stressed and wound up does hinder the process. In saying that I believe that by taking my temp in the morning and doing the OPK and logging stuff on a gazillion apps I feel like I have some sort of control in the process. Eating healthier etc makes me feel like I'm doing something.
I'm not too sure about the Luteal phase as I'm still learning about that. But I agree with juneybean I would maybe go see a different GP. One who is more empathetic with the situation. And if you continue to track everything you will have more information for the GP.

Having said all that any advice on how one can just let the process take its natural course and how one can stop obsessing about the situation? Confused

juneybean · 08/08/2017 18:22

It's easy to be relaxed in the first two weeks when nothing is happening haha I feel perfectly sane at the moment. Our donor might not be able to do the dates I need but I'm kind of feeling like any sperm is better than no sperm?

If I was straight I might stop temping/using opk and just have regular sex around the right time... But then you'd have no records if you did need to go to the GP.

LovePinaColada · 08/08/2017 21:27

Totally agree @juneybean! Here I am now saying oh I will be relaxed blah blah blah - but may be a mad women this time in a few weeks! 😂 Going to try my best though - just need AF to stop now so can get DTD again!

juneybean · 08/08/2017 22:00

Mines just about finished and my app says I should start OPKing on Thursday

Springersprung · 08/08/2017 22:42

Hopping on board
Age:31
Ttc: #1
Cycle 6 (cycle 3 after mmc)
Bfp due around 4th/5th September

Used to have 28/29 day cycles, but since mc, they seem to be longer. Got my hopes up last cycle only for AF to appear on cd34. Just going to assume I have long cycles now, then I'll maybe be less obsessive around testing cd25/26

pixieinlove · 09/08/2017 06:43

Welcome @Springersprung

Morning all. Took my temp this morning and the app glow said I must have ovulated. But I only finished AF yesterday. That can't be right ? Only been temping for 3 days. Not at the exact time. First morning was 7am. Then 7:20am and this morning 6:50am. Does the time really have such an influence?
