Thanks for the welcome Mctufty!

Phoenix - I do that a lot, I get so desperate for a wee that I just sit on the loo and release. I keep one of those glass pots Gu puds come in under the toilet, then when I inevitability remember mid pee I can grab it and stick it under the stream (it's glam this TTC lark right?) I normally end up pissing on my hand a bit but, well if I have a kid I'm sure there will be worse to come...

NimbleKnitter · 27/08/2017 19:45

FFS

natural cycles has just moved my ovulation day to Wednesday. Based on what I have no idea, because I had a positive LH surge on Sunday. But it has.

Which means we gave up too soon, after starting far too early. Lessons for next month - need to pace ourselves!

Also got a serious dip today, which is weird for 3/4dpo. Husband had stolen the covers last night, so woke up cold before taking temp. Could that do it?!

NimbleKnitter · 27/08/2017 19:46

Not that it matters - largely irrelevant at this stage in the game. More for my own interest

juneybean · 27/08/2017 19:56

I usually have a fallback rise between 3-5dpo so could be that and the cold night.

How far in advance of ovulation did you DTD?

OP posts:
NimbleKnitter · 27/08/2017 20:44

We took your sage advice and struggled through the Tuesday night, which was (apparently) the night before ovulation, so not as annoying as it could have been (although I do wonder if he had anything of value left by then)

juneybean · 27/08/2017 21:07

Going off fertility friend mine was 36-48 hours in advance (which I'm hoping is okay!) so those from your Monday night DTD might have powered through if those from Tuesday were a bit lackadaisical!

I started getting cramps today which is what I get every month so now I'm feeling out :(

OP posts:
juneybean · 28/08/2017 10:05

Forgot to temp today so in a bit of limbo haha 9dpo today!

OP posts:
NimbleKnitter · 28/08/2017 10:18

@juneybean even 9dpo would be super early for implantation, and too early for period cramps.

Could it be that you feel that every month when your uterine lining builds up?

juneybean · 28/08/2017 10:54

I think it must be and I was hoping I wouldn't feel them this month and that would be a sign it had worked :/

OP posts:
pixielove123 · 28/08/2017 11:37

When does Implantation happen? Those get it was between 7 dpo and 12 dpo?

I stopped temping. Was driving me insane the ups and downs of the temp. I dreaming all night about temping etc... feeling a lot calmer now that I've stopped. Confused

NimbleKnitter · 28/08/2017 11:39

@pixielove123 I believe it's usually between 9 and 12 dpo, but can be as early as 6 or 7

NimbleKnitter · 28/08/2017 11:42

Ok, I've seen a lot of people taking about seven seas vitamins lengthening their cycle.

This appears to be happening to me, but isn't that a good thing? The longer your follicular period, the more mature the egg (right?) and the longer your luteal, the thicker your uterine lining is.

This is all good stuff, isn't it?

PhoenixDown · 28/08/2017 12:09

juney LOL at knocking wee in the bath! TTC is like a surreal farce at times haha Grin

Ugh I'm 99% sure this is an anovulatory cycle. OPks have been weird, hardly any EWCM, and usually after ov I get sore boobs and I don't even though I should be 1 DPO. Feeling like this month's a write off. Sad

NimbleKnitter · 28/08/2017 13:40

Ok, so I'm a bit of a stats geek, so I was making a spreadsheet of how many months it would take to become statistically likely to conceive, assuming a 20% likelihood each time (which assumes regular unprotected sex and no fertility issues)

And the answer is - on the 4th attempt it becomes more likely than not that pregnancy will occur. By month 6, it is 75% likely.

For artificial insemination, the odds are 15% each round, meaning @juneybean this cycle 5 is the first time it is more likely than not that it works!

Fingers crossed for you

Hoping these aren't depressing - just thought it was reassuring that those getting pregnant first time round were statistically in the minority

juneybean · 28/08/2017 14:03

That's fascinating nimble! And gives me hope! Fingers crossed!

OP posts:
NimbleKnitter · 28/08/2017 14:42

Yep!

I should say, the 20% is just an average - it's slightly higher if you're younger, and slightly lower if you're older

pixielove123 · 28/08/2017 14:54

Oh goodness the Early detection cheapies just arrived. Going to be sitting in my hands as only 10 dpo. Got to at least try hold off until 12 dpo.

PointeShoesAndTutus · 28/08/2017 15:12

Arrgh I have an overwhelming desire to test, I feel so bleugh and my veiny boobs hurt!

I'm 9dpo and it's clearly not morning so no FMU - tell me it's pointless!

NimbleKnitter · 28/08/2017 15:15

It's pointless! It's more likely to give you a depressing false negative than a positive

Go for a walk to take your mind off it!

juneybean · 28/08/2017 15:16

At least wait til tomorrow pointe haha

OP posts:
PointeShoesAndTutus · 28/08/2017 15:18

Thanks both! I'll try to sit on my hands! I'm working at home (on the bank holiday, feeling sorry for myself Hmm ) and just keep thinking of the sticks in the bathroom cabinet!

MacDJ · 28/08/2017 17:13

So Kay so wee update from me I've been quietly lurking since I hopped aboard as my af never showed :-/ I'd have been due on next Wednesday if af had shown last
Month, don't know what to do, boobs are sore, been feeling bleugh last few day, got a frer today in boots but going to hold onto it for a few more days

LovePinaColada · 28/08/2017 21:29

Hi everyone! How are you all getting on?

I have been super quiet for a few weeks - I actually got rid of this app from my phone as it was becoming my secret obession! This month I have tried to be a little more relaxed etc & see if it makes any difference!

I am awaiting a BFP on September 4th - not feeling overly confident & now pretty convinced I have a UTI - fun times!

Janefx40 · 28/08/2017 22:14

@LovePinaColada welcome back - I did the same thing by deleting the app for a few weeks - I was also checking chats non-stop! Back now and have been (slightly) better behaved.

I also have a UTI that is sometimes rearing its head and sometimes lurking in the shadows. I spent 40 mins in the Sea yesterday where I swam (and peed whenever I needed to!) blessed relief so if you live coastally I would recommend.

@MacDJ if I read your message right you are 3+ weeks late which sounds promising. Let us know when you test and fingers crossed x

juneybean · 28/08/2017 22:23

Hello love nice to see you again. When do you think you will test?

I just checked my cm just now and at first I thought it was dry but then I pulled out a massive glob of yellow creamy yuck...
