@Melodypond17 hi Smile being doff here I'm sure Blushbut when you say 40+2 years. Are you meaning woman that are 42 years old? And what do you mean by any other day? Or am I just reading that sentence so badly (hides face BlushGrin)

pixieinlove · 10/07/2017 15:36

I mean 'conceive the other day'

Shanners123 · 10/07/2017 15:39

Cheers gals! Good to know. @juneybean that is some good charting!

Feel like everyone around me is announcing theyre pregnant.. A blogger I follow just sent an email about it. Unbelievable! Gotta keep the faith 🤞

Hows everyone doing with their August plans?

At the weekend I bought some "fertility check gel" from boots (similar to conceive plus and pre seed from what I understand) for trying out once my FW kicks in. Will report back if it's any good!

Shanners123 · 10/07/2017 15:41

@pixie I think she was saying it takes 2 years for anyone over 40 to conceive on average

Janefx40 · 10/07/2017 15:45

Hi @melodypond17 welcome

That's why I avoid the stats and forums specifically for 40+ ! No one is a statistic - some women get pregnant straight away at 45, others struggle at 25. Let's just cross our fingers and hope for good things xxx

Melodypond17 · 10/07/2017 16:04

@pixieinlove! @Shanners123 is right - I meant it can take two years for you to conceive if you're in your 40s... X

pixieinlove · 10/07/2017 16:13

Whaaat?!?! ConfusedShockShock think I'll go in a wonderful place called denialland and I'm going to chose to be positive for us all and hope for BFP next month (Gulp)

When I tried for my DD (10 years ago) I was told that sperm can live inside us for up to 7 days and to DTD every second or third day. I heard not to do it every day as the man needs a day or two to build up their sperm. Has anyone else heard this? I did then fall pregnant first time trying. So that's my plan with #3 #fingerscrossed and #foreverhopeful

Shanners123 · 10/07/2017 16:34

Yup @pixie, like @janefx40 says.. The stats are guidelines and can't be taken as fact! All we can do is give it our best shot.
And Yup I heard the same on here about dtd every other day rather than everyday, except on ovulation day.. Then you should aim for as much as possible in that short window 😂

Firework83 · 10/07/2017 17:46

Hi ladies, I'm TTC cycle 2 this month. Age 34.

My FW should've started today but had a bit of a long AF tail off than expected... clearblue OPK says negative today but i have a little CM so thinking to start BD tonight as I can't tomorrow or Thursday. I assume CM is a pretty good indicator?

I'll be due to test on 27th July eek. I will try and not get too hung up this time!!! Good luck to all of us.

LovePinaColada · 10/07/2017 19:37

Good luck @Firework83 - think you will be our earliest test on this thread! 😍

MotherofBoy · 10/07/2017 20:16

juney thanks for fab table! Can you pin it to the first post? Hopefully there will be lots of bfps.

I got rather excited this morning as my temp spiked to 37 again... but bfn. I am either 12 or 13dpo with af due tomorrow or Wednesday so definitely no hope for me. Bring on August... had a little cry again today but picked myself up and will carry on

LovePinaColada · 10/07/2017 20:19

Best of luck @MotherofBoy - you're not out until AF arrives!

juneybean · 10/07/2017 20:33

mother annoyingly it doesn't let you edit on mumsnet but I'll keep posting the link when I post!

And any of us unlucky to join the September bus can carry the spreadsheet with us! :)

pixieinlove · 11/07/2017 07:48

What apps are you all using to track your fertility etc. I'm using Glow, Period Tracker and Clue

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 11/07/2017 08:44

pixie I know what you mean about it being easier first time. We just dtd every day through my fertile week and I got pregnant on my first cycle!

I'm just using a free app, but as I have a Windows phone, there don't seem to be as many available

juneybean · 11/07/2017 08:46

I use Fertility Friend, I paid for the VIP features, I find it helpful. Probably a bit of a dated app compared to some out there though!

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 11/07/2017 08:56

Hello again. Cycle 6 has officially started after having been 6 days late (!!!!)

Why does that happen? I am never late and I'm not unusually stressed.

Anyways stats updated are:

Cycle 6
Ttc 2
Age 31
Bfp due 9th August

I have lots of uni work to plan for the year and starting to think I will jist stop tracking and wait for it to happen as its been such an up and down journey this month having been so late.

WhiteWingedDove · 11/07/2017 08:56

I've just posted about my worries in another post and am pretty sure AF is going to arrive imminently so I'd like to jump aboard if that's okay? I feel as though giving it a real shot and not just secretly hoping might work it's magic.

So!
Age: 27
Cycle: technically 1
TTC: Our first baby!

DH actually goes away ovulation day so will be dtd every other day up until then!

WhiteWingedDove · 11/07/2017 08:58

Forgot to add BFP due 16th August!

Firework83 · 11/07/2017 08:59

Oh no @LovePinaColada I'm not sure I want to be the first haha!

@juneybean I'm TTC #1 thank you for including me!

@pixieinlove I use Ovia. Seems pretty good to me. Also period tracker but it's not as detailed.

Vicsteur81 · 11/07/2017 08:59

Looks like I'm out for July so August bus it is!

Cycle 3
Ttc 1
Age 36
Bfp due 8th August

Sophiathesecond19 · 11/07/2017 11:41

does anyone else get really frustrated trying to understand their own cycle?!

I just want to ovulate, dtd on the right day, POAS and it be positive! we're not asking much, are we ladies! :)

Janefx40 · 11/07/2017 16:40

@sophiathesecond I know what you mean. Even tho I knew all the stats - I definitely expected it to be that easy the first cycle! I was so disappointed when it wasn't.

Welcome new ladies.

@mamabooks I do think our bodies are much more responsive to how we are feeling that I ever realised. I'm certain that I've delayed my period a couple of times through stress/desperation for a bfp. The minute I accepted that it was a bfn my body relaxed and AF arrived. Aren't we powerful! Sorry it's not a better result for you tho this time

Janefx40 · 11/07/2017 16:43

DP having a sperm test tomorrow. We were told we'd have to wait until Sept as no free appointments but they rang with a cancellation.

Have persuaded GP to test us for everything sooner than normal due to our ages.

Not sure what we'll do if results aren't good. Eek!

MotherofBoy · 11/07/2017 19:16

I also use fertility friend and paid for VIP as I think it's worth it as the analysis is great.

Temp went up again today hovering at 37. Don't get it. I always dip at 13dpo the day before af. No af yet, its due today/tomorrow. Bfns tho... though I saw a shadow on a cheapie this morning but more likely an evap
