Hi thats it really. If there is anyone who is about to start a new cycle with clomid, can you please be my friend?
This will be my first try on clomid, I have pcos, and started af today after a horrible 48 day cycle.
But af is here, hurray! which means i can start on the magic beans tomorrow.
So if you would like chat and hand holding too, please sign in here.
Im thinking good sense of humour, sympathy, and patience will be a must

I'm sorry, PCM. So disappointing and here we all were quietly hoping your pessimism was unfounded. Will you start another cycle of clomid right away?

As for the bedbugs... no more bites! I am going to keep putting the mattress out in the sun, but so far so good!

laughalot · 19/04/2007 16:39

Pussycat one of the girls on our jan thread is 38 she had 3 thingys of clomid and then had her little boy ben, sorry about af but iv got a feeling in my waters about you it will happen.

pussycatmomma · 19/04/2007 16:53

thanks, both of you...
Yes will be starting 2nd cycle of clomid tomorrow, dont really see much point in waiting. As I havent heard from the cons (I called the secretary and asked for a call from him, none recieved) I will continue to take the 50mg. Gonna be keeping everything crossed (apart from the obvious) for a good result. Good work on the bedbugs lu, I think you have cracked it! what cd are you?
any news from awen?

I think you are right to crack on. I felt the same way. I am on CD12 (CD10 of the second clomid cycle). I think I am a bit confused about my cycle and gave the wrong dates before- it all depends on when I count the first day of AF... I took the clomid on CD3-7). DH is now going away for 3 days right at the time when I think I should be OV.

pussycatmomma · 19/04/2007 17:19

oh bloody hell, that is bad planning! (((hugs))) and a lovely clean bug-free bed to bd in too! he doesnt know what he is missing!
I have been told to take my clomid days 2-6. I always count my cycle as cd1 , first day of red bleeding. And from what we said last time, we might ovulate 5-10 days (or was it 5-9) after taking the last clomid, i think.
so if i have this right, if i take last clomid on my cd6, then my peak days would be 11-16. And for you 12-17.
Is that right or am i muddled??

by the way, are you using opks or temping? Im not doing neither of these things.

Sorry to hear that AF has come Pusscat.
I also got lucky after the third cycle.....just because it doesn't happen straight away doesn't mean it won't.....although I had decided that it was all useless and their was no point....then got my (very unexpected) bfp.

Have a damn good cry, eat chocolate, listen to depressing music and then get back to it tomorrow.
Mega (((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))) from old Coggy here.

coggy · 19/04/2007 17:50

there of course....and me teaching English...I don't know!!!!!!

coggy · 19/04/2007 17:52

Oh....and when I say "get back to it"...I don't actually mean 'it'...that would be a bit keen.......just get back to being you I mean!

coggy · 19/04/2007 17:52

Okay..............I'm going now...........

pussycatmomma · 19/04/2007 18:15

ahhh thanks coggy. I have had my damn good cry, unfortunately it was at work this morning. Just couldnt help myself, it was just so very disapointing.... Even though I daren't let myself think it was gonna be ok, there is always a part of you that stays hopeful right until af actually arrives. I now feel very much like you just described...its all wrong, never gonna work, wont possibly ever work.
Hopefully I will resume some kind of normality soon. Felt like such a fool this morning, luckily have some v. understanding workmates and a wonderful team leader (thank god, cant imagine going through this with the last hateful witch i had).
Am starting weightwatchers tonight! maybe not the best day on reflection, but I had decided anyway and tonights the night.
Am determined if i ever meet the consultant again, and he enquires about my weight, i will confidently be able to say, quite casually, "oh yes, i have lost a stone and a half, my bmi is bloody perfect!"

Awwe sorry for AF PCM. I am on day 3 of provera to induce AF. On a positive note your AF may signify that you ov'd.. so that means clomid working.

My clomid is going up this cycle to 100mg. You are right about days 5-9 as consultant said that to me.

I am not OPK or temping or anything as she advised against it. Decided going to be a bit more relaxed about the whole thing this time round. Also with AF arriving on a weekday (hopefully mine will) it means the blood tgest can be done on actual day21. They are going to scan me too.

Means we will both be on our 2nd runs. Hope we both get our lovely BFPS xx Btw thanks for asking how it was going x

lulu1414 · 20/04/2007 11:01

Don't worry about the tears at work. I was doing it solidly for months after my miscarriage. I know what you mean- no matter how sure you are you aren't pg there is always that hope and an inkling that maybe you are. We all do it.

I think you are right re my cycle. I also heard about the 5-9 days after the last pill. So I should be OV CD12 (yesterday)- CD16. Great that DH is away for most of these days! Typical.

I'm not OVK or temping. Don't really see the point. I'm pretty sure you were all right and I that the pain I was feeling last time was OV, so I hope I will feel the same so I know where I'm at.

pussycatmomma · 21/04/2007 17:59

hiya you lot
Lulu dont be disheartened about dh being away, just do it right before he leaves and as soon as he comes through the door back again..... And remember coggy got her bfp when she was on a break from the clomid last time, so miricles do happen. Will keep everything crossed for you honey.
Awen, nearly over with the provera for you, hope it has been ok for you.
I am a bit worried myself, because my af appears to have made a hasty retreat today no bleeding all day. Am v. suprised as it was (((sorry if tmi))) very heavy and very clotty and ((sorry)) lumpy at times. Did appearance of af or length of af alter with your cycle lulu? I read in the clomid packet it said can make periods heavier/painful but didnt say about shortening.
Oh well. There is always something to worry over isnt there!! any ideas anyone?
xxxxxxx
love to all, have a lovely rest-of-weekend.

lulu1414 · 21/04/2007 18:47

Definitely always something to worry about! OK- so DH went away on Thursday and we BD before he went. He returns tomorrow in the early afternoon. But we have to go to MILs before home (sigh).

My AF was WIERD. It was spotting for 2 days and then red and normal for 1 day and then very light spotting for a few more days. Mine was definitely neither heavier nor painful. How long has yours been? Now, I really don't want to freak you out... but when I got pregnant last time I was sure I wasn't pregnant as I had v. sudden and heavy period. I thought it wierd when it lasted less than a day, but just carried on. A few days later when I felt a little sick and my boobs hurt I took a test and got BFP. Did you take a test? I imagine our AF will just be a bit odd, but I just thought I should mention it.

lulu1414 · 21/04/2007 19:21

OK, I have a question... I have just noticed that I think I have EWCM. I hadn't been paying any attention to any of this, but just sort of noticed it and so looked it up here and on other sites. Some of you ladies are more experienced about all this than me. If I just noticed it today (and maybe yesterday) does this mean that I am most fertile today????

wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 22/04/2007 10:46

pussycat, when I fell pg with my ds I had a, what I thought was, heavy/painful period, but it only lasted for one day. I just figured it was a short period and paid no attention. however that month I'd been told to go for a day 3 blood test which I did, and when I rang for the results the doctors receptionist said that a note had been left on the results asking if I was on the pill. that same day I inexpectedly fainted at work, and initially I was devostated in thinking that my hormones were obviously all over the place, but then decided to do a pg test as a last resort. Dh thought I was mad and said "I ain't paying another bloody 8 quid for a test that's going to be negative", and we were both to say the least when it was positive.

If there is no bleeding now I would do a test. If you normally have 4/5 day long periods then this isn't normal. Also it's important to know as if you're pregnant you shouldn't start your next chlomid cycle today.

hth x

coggy · 22/04/2007 11:32

PCM.....definitely do a test before re-starting clomid....always safest.
Not wanting to get your hopes up....or dash them.....my AF lasted far less days on clomid...it was one of the few side effects I noticed.

So basically now you will be even more confused as some of the advice sounds good and some sounds not good!!!
LOL!
Don't we just lurve having all this stuff to worry about!!!!!!

Lulu....the EWCM shows that you are beginning your fertile phase. It is usually taken that when it dries up you are about to or have OV'd...so if you see EWCM then BD like mad and carry on for another days or two after it stops.
HTH.

pussycatmomma · 22/04/2007 20:10

oh.
f*ck.
I have already started my clomid and it never crossed my mind to test as i had just started very obvious, bright red af......
Af started thurs, clomid started friday.
I would be 100% sure i am definately not prg. Now I am worrying about the short af. Very little af today, but today is cd4. Normally lasts longer, but like Coggy says ,her af was shorter too.
Im gonna trust my instincts on this one and continue as i am .
Thanks for all advice though!!!!!!

OP posts:
minxi · 22/04/2007 20:15

I wonder if anyone can help me or offer advice.... started clomid this month (ttc no 3 and came off depo in Nov 2004) saw consultant who said take the pills days 2 - 6 so I did that and on Saturday which is cd24 had a shock of blood when I went to the loo and since then tiny tiny grainy bits if I wipe (sorry tmi) a coupkle times.... I asked consultant if I take my day 1from spotting and he said yes....anyway since then nothing no blood nothing....my periods were always about 26/27 days long and now from the blood yesterday it would be 24 days...so I am a bit confused...and when will I take the next lot...? sorry for the essay, 1st month on this stuff and it stuffs my cycle length up...

One more thing had dreadful dreadful pains around cd12/13 which was obviously ovulation pains but really baaad is that normal ? no pain at the moment though ?

Thanks for any advice ....sorry for crashing in on the site but thought you know about clomid ?

minxi · 23/04/2007 09:23

af arrived today so I think because there was nothing yesterday will take today as day one and then start the clomid on day 2 tomorrow....although feel like an emotional wreck which is not normal for me so hoping that this is the clomid.....

coggy · 23/04/2007 18:56

Clomid can make you go very hormonal and moody/weepy.
I think they like you to start on CD2 rather then CD1 so that you know that it is your AF for sure.

Try not to worry about it PCM...I'm sure it's fine...I didn't even think about testing for my first couple of months...and actually this month I was almost scared when I went for my first USS because I had started my injectibles after a light AF and thought I had buggered up a pg......just something else to play on your mind!

MamaMaiasaura · 23/04/2007 21:08

Hi PCM & Minxi hope you all ok x

Still no AF here. Provera finished on Saturday. Keeping low profile as trying not to obssess too much ..
