Hi thats it really. If there is anyone who is about to start a new cycle with clomid, can you please be my friend?
This will be my first try on clomid, I have pcos, and started af today after a horrible 48 day cycle.
But af is here, hurray! which means i can start on the magic beans tomorrow.
So if you would like chat and hand holding too, please sign in here.
Im thinking good sense of humour, sympathy, and patience will be a must

Thanks floss - how are you? Are you having abreak from the clomid or keeping going?
I'm off to the gp tomorrow as she has been more sympathetic. I'm hoping she'll say give it a go. That's all I want, one month on the stuff to see if it regulates my cycle.
hope everyone else is well.

buttercupbabe · 18/06/2007 07:28

Thanks Attila and Happy belated birthday!
Also thanks Coggy - wishing you loads of luck this month.

minxi · 18/06/2007 09:01

floss sorry to hear your sad news....

Lulu - mu af was only two days and not back to 28 days like last month.., now on cd3 of cycle 4 of clomid - hey ho!

lulu1414 · 18/06/2007 09:21

Hi all,

Happy Bday Atilla! Coggy- good luck at the GP. Floss- hope you are doing OK. I know how devastating a m/c can be- but as you say onwards and upwards.

Minxi- welcome to cycle 4 of clomid! I am presently on CD17 of my 4th cycle. I definitely think my moods are affected more now on clomid, but really only at the start of my cycle when I start taking the pills. So Minx, you AF was really light too? And how long was your cycle? Mine is getting longer each month (25 days, then 28 then 29). So I am expecting to get Af around Cd30 this time. I am going to the consultant in a week just to get some reassurance and talk to him about things.

Hope everyone has a good week.

minxi · 18/06/2007 09:56

Lulu...last cycle af was about 4-5 days...so this cycle started Friday evening and has now gone!...this cycle length though was only 26 days it was 28 days last month....so a bit confused there...moods seem to be much better (thank god) but extreme tiredness last week running up to af....was sad but now am okay - although had an accident on Saturday fell and smashed my face into the concrete step! nose is all scabby and face is compeltely swollen - my eyes feel odd typing this as am looking down slightly to check what I am writing! ugh! Good luck this cycle though - its a horrid waiting game x

flosspot · 18/06/2007 12:44

Attila- belated happy birthday. Your age explains your wisdom re: all things PCOS!!!
Buttercup- fingers crossed your appointment has a good outcome.
Coggy- I'm doing OK- just had the call from MIL to sympathise. When I say sympathise, I mean nag: "Sad that this has happened, but you need to get on and make a new baby!" I paraphrase, naturally . Grrr- jabs. Did you have to practice on an orange? Are you doing them yourself? How are you feeling? Keeping everything crossed, as you know!
Minxi and Lulu- thanks for thinking of me. Can't believe you guys are cycle 4. Still holding on cycle two as can't take Clomid until next cycle- m/c buggers up dates apparently. Am really falling behind!

Not much to report here as having a dead cycle- CD counting out of the window due to m/c. Will have to rely on EW spotting and hoping for short cycle so I can get back to TTC. Can't twiddle my thumbs for ever!

buttercupbabe · 18/06/2007 12:54

Hi all
Floss - sorry mil is being a bit insensitive. Fingers crossed this cycle is a shortie and you can get back to ttc. V good idea to look out for the ewcm as you never know...
Gp was great and told me to take the clomid as it's clear now I've only a 9 day LP. So who has any advice for me? I was told to take it at night so I can sleep through any flushes and have warned dh that my moods could be a bit erratic.... I notice you girls saying af length is affected, did that happen in your first or subsequent cycles?
Hope all is well with everyone else xx

MamaMaiasaura · 18/06/2007 13:08

sorry to hear about m/c flosspot

Popped on to this thread just to say hello and hoping that clomid does its job for you all xxxx

pussycatmomma · 18/06/2007 14:23

awen - great minds think alike!
flossie- I am so, so sorry to hear of your devastating news Sending you good vibes for staying positive, strong, and hopeful. Will be thinking of you honey.
lulu, minxi, buttercup, and anyone else, "hang in there!"
So far, I am proof that despite all worrying, waiting and wondering it can happen. By the way, all waiting, wondering and worrying has increased 10fold since bfp, there is no let up!
Good luck everyone xxxxxxxx

Awen, PCM- good to hear all is well.

Buttercup- MIL just your typical MIL. I think she lasks the tact gene. Great news about your appoinment. Full steam ahead with Clomid. Can honestly say that it's not all that bad. It hasn't affected my cycles much, but they are very long anyway. And DH swears that the mood thing is bearable- he likes to have a reason for it (ie: the drugs) rather than wondering if I have PMT....all month!

Good luck.

flosspot · 20/06/2007 12:47

OK ladies- it's Tuesday, which makes it time for an update, no?

Flossie- dead cycle (apparently you can't start counting until first day of period after mc...) pg on 2nd cycle of Clomid, waiting to start third.

flosspot · 23/06/2007 11:36

Where is everyone?

MamaMaiasaura · 25/06/2007 09:55

Hi Flosspot - I am still hovering around. How are you doing hun?

flosspot · 25/06/2007 12:52

Good Awen- getting back to it....how are things going in the baby-carrying world?

MamaMaiasaura · 25/06/2007 12:56

ok but nervewracking. THink it is a worry from ttc to when they are adults (acutally think it probably even continues when they are adults). Scan tomorrow - nuchal fold. fingers all x'd.

Are you haveing to wait a whole cycle before clomid again?

flosspot · 25/06/2007 12:59

A whole cycle- apparently you can't accurately count cycle post-mc so you have to wait for first af post-mc to start counting...grrr. On advice of MNer whoo is doctor am upping dosage asap though.

MamaMaiasaura · 25/06/2007 13:00

just read the other thread My dr planned to up my does to 100mg for 2nd cycle. THink it makes sense tbh. (never know might end up with twins or more )

flosspot · 25/06/2007 18:41

Twins! I'd be sorted all in one go. Of course could end up with more than twins....

MamaMaiasaura · 25/06/2007 21:15

quads.. sextuplets a whole litter of the little darlings

sugarsnap · 26/06/2007 12:03

hello - this is my first posting and wondering if anyone can advise me. Am 41 in September and have been trying for a couple of years. Dont have any children at moment. I've just taken one round of clomid few weeks ago 50mg and am getting period pains now so dont think its worked. But what i want to ask is should i be monitored on it, with a blood test or something to see if its working? My docs says he thinks i may have PCOS. My cycles are all varied between about 30 and 37 days. Has taken me a year on NHS to get this far. Waiting times so long in Manchester. He says i can try 6 months clomid and then i am looking at private IVF. My 3 24 day progesterone tests have all come back different, good and bad results. Feeling low, like i'll never be a mum...sure you get my drift. Anyways thank you for reading ladies x

minxi · 26/06/2007 17:38

sugar...can't believe it has taken you so long to get clomid prescribed!

I am on my 4th cycle of 50mg clomid and not monitored although saw consultant last month who said yes yes keep going with it! If it doesn't work lap and dye and has already given me the details then if tubes blocked they fix that if all ok then they offer ivf but have to pay as already have ds's! Have been trying for over 2.5 years now!

good luck

sugarsnap · 26/06/2007 18:58

thanks minxi for the reply and encouragement. I too would have to pay cos of my age, altho did go and see my doc about it when i was 39 but its taken this long to get appointments. Ive had tubal patency and they were clear, is that what you mean by lap and dye? Its great that you have two kids already and i really send you loads of luck for the next!

kazza101 · 27/06/2007 13:58

Hiya. I am new to this website today. I have been TTC for 2.5 years. On my first cycle of clomid. Got results today of 21 prog, and it was 88.9! This seems a high result, and wondered if it was a sign of anything?
