Hi thats it really. If there is anyone who is about to start a new cycle with clomid, can you please be my friend?
This will be my first try on clomid, I have pcos, and started af today after a horrible 48 day cycle.
But af is here, hurray! which means i can start on the magic beans tomorrow.
So if you would like chat and hand holding too, please sign in here.
Im thinking good sense of humour, sympathy, and patience will be a must

PCM- don't worry about it, I didn't mean to freak you. I definitely say go with your instincts. Hope you are OK.

Awen- hiya. I hope AF comes soon (that's what you are waiting for, is it not?) Tell me about obsessing. Now that by bed bug situation is somewhat resolved I need a new obsession other than symptom twitching!

No news here. Feel a bit like I may be OVing, but not sure... Feel a bit of a twinge on my left side and it is about the right time, but not so sure. DH home now so will definitely take advantage of him!

pussycatmomma · 23/04/2007 21:55

hiya everyone....
minxi, glad you found this thread, hope we may be of some use to you! Although I must add this has all been our first cycle on clomid too, so we are novices just muddling through together - as you can tell, not experts- yet!
Awen - sorry af not started yet, in my naivity i thought the provera would start it straight away, didnt realise it would still be a waiting game. Hope she arrives soon honey.
As for obsessions... i know the feeling!! In order to try and stop obsessing about all this ttc, i joined weightwatchers last thursday and so am putting all my energies into healthy eating, so will prob become obsessed about that as well as ttc!
Telling myself there will be less room in my head for ttc, but, annoyingly,we all know it still takes over every waking thought!
lulu, last month i seem to remember really obvious, uncomfortable pains in the middle of the cycle which may have been down to ovulation, or my body making an effort to ovulate! I hope these signs are good for you and will be keeping fingers crossed for a hat-trick from all 3 of us. Now wouldnt that be amazing!!!!!!!
love and hugs to all

Hello everyone

never used a chat room before, so bear with me. Have just come from my second consultant's appointment in floods of tears. And found that I had no-one to talk to.

I'm on my second cycle of Clomid after TTC for 18 months. Was diagnosed with PCOS years ago when applied to donate eggs, so always knew I was going to have issues. Am so bloody fed up though. EVERYONE I know has achieved babydom in the time that I have been trying. The drugs make me so emotional I cry at anything. The NHS drives me crackers.

HELP!

lulu1414 · 25/04/2007 18:37

Flos- welcome! You are in good company here. I understand the clomid can affect people by making them very moody and tearful- one friend of mine had a horrid time on clomid, but so far I seem OK. I am on my second cycle. I think the tears etc are also due to how scary and frustrating all of this is. Especially, as you say, everyone around you is getting pregnant.

Hope everyone is OK. Not much to report here.

flosspot · 25/04/2007 18:44

I'm sure I'm overreacting in truth, but I really feel my appoointment today was a waste of time. I see a different member of the consultant's team every time, they don't seem to read the notes, they don't seem to be consistent with their advice and the woman today could barely make herself understood in English.

I didn't know half the things about Clomid that I learned just reading this thread. My cycles are consistently long, ranging anything from 40ish days to 122. I have to have my next scan on day 28, but the hospital has a two month waiting list, and beyond this cycle (CD5) I have no idea when that day will be.

Grrr. Sorry- am sure I'm preaching to the converted.

Doesn't help that DH too busy with work to take 5 minutes and make me feel better!

pussycatmomma · 25/04/2007 21:10

hello flosspot and welcome....you have found understanding friends here. Feel free to come and rant, share good news, and let off steam.... We all do it, we all feel very similar feelings im sure. I am also on my 2nd month of clomid and have been "officially" ttc since jan 06, but before this me and my dh have not used contraception since our wedding in Aug 2004 - very naively we thought babies would just happen to us!!!!!!
I also have pcos and was diagnosed may06. I had ovarian drilling surgery in Sept which doesnt seem to have made a jot of difference so far......
Lulu , any signs of ov for you?? fingers crossed for you. I know Awen is trying to stay off the internet on her gynys advice, but wish she would let us know how she is getting on! Awen, promise i wont turn you into a mad obsessive = like me!
By the way floss, i have also been really really emotional whilst taking the clomid but i find after the last tablet i start to settle down again.
love to all xxxxxxx

What CD are u now? Have u finished taking the clomid? Did it go up or is it 50mg? I do so hope this is our month on here for all of us.

Welcome Flosspot, i understand your frusttrations. I am lucky to already have a ds(7) but he is my little miracle as havent had any luck since. I was diagnosed about 9 years ago now. I have been px metformin 500mg tds. I am now on 100mg clomid but impatientlyh waiting for AF so I can start 2nd course. First course of 50 didnt work for me.

Minxi - hope u ok. Where are u in your cycle?

Lulu - did u ov? Hope u bding lots

Pussycat.. my obsession got better of me and been trying to work out due dates etc if it all works and if AF arrives in next few days

MamaMaiasaura · 26/04/2007 00:18

forgot to say am a bit crampy down there and think she might be on her way (fingers crossed)

lulu1414 · 26/04/2007 11:49

Hi all... Awen- fingers crossed AF arrives soon.

I know all too well about obsessing. Unfortunately, I am the obsessive type and can obsess about being too obsesssed! I've always been like this, so now there is really something to worry, be frustrated and upset about I am in overkill! I must admit, though, that I feel better than I did in the 6 months after my m/c and when there was no AF and no one was listening to me!

I am on CD19. I think I probably ovulated a few days ago as I think I felt the twinge, although it wasn't as painful as last time. So now just waiting (and trying not to obsess!)

flosspot · 26/04/2007 12:54

The fun continues- hospital called me today. Was referred for scan by yesterday's consultant, but it seems radiology don't do that scan, so have sent paperwork back and advised me to call department. After finally getting through to the Professor's secretary, it seems that there are barely any notes from my appointment, she can't work out which scan I am supposed to have and will have to investigate further. So it's one step back.

But not so weepy today, thank the lord. On day 5 of Clomid.

Thanks for your welcome and support. It made a big difference!

lulu1414 · 26/04/2007 13:37

Floss- I understand your frustration... I have also had a nightmare with GPs and specialists until I found a good one. I don't know... but I would imagine you would be having an internal ultrasound to check to see if you have produced an egg and if it is the right size etc. I had a scan which did that and also to check that I wasn't over-reacting to the clomid ie producing more than one egg. They also check the state endemitriol lining... I could be wrong as it may not be the same in your case.

flosspot · 26/04/2007 16:46

Any advice is good advice at this stage, Lulu! I guess I'll know more via my GP in a few days.

Have a smile back on my face- my dog (bought when the baby thing didn't semm to be working!)has been making me laugh all afternoon. Feel better about attacking the ironing now, so added bonus. In spirit of happiness and positivity am sending good vibes out to you all.

minxi · 27/04/2007 22:38

Hi PCM and Awen and the others...am on cd5 today (clomid day 4) ....feel fine since my crazy pmt moments over the weekend.....just want it to work - started temping this month as well as took a month off, so will see - consultant said to just have sex on cd10/12/14/16 but think will do 6/8/18 and 20 just to be sure poor dh
Hope everyone is ok

coggy · 28/04/2007 10:31

I would definitely try a bit warlier and later as well Minxi...if you can manage it!!!

I don't ov naturally until Cd18 or 19 of a 27/28 day cycle so I was always trying at the wrong time before....(for nearly five piggin' years!!!!)

MamaMaiasaura · 28/04/2007 16:51

hi guys. Hope you ok. Minxi - I would bd at least everyother day from when stop af

No sodding AF here for me. Had cramps last 3 days but she hasnt arrived. Been a week since finished provera. Is this normal?? Arghhh. Just want to bet on with clomid. If no AF next week might re-test although dont feel am pg.

lulu1414 · 28/04/2007 17:13

Hi everyone.

Awen- how frustrating. I hope something happens soon.

I'm feeling a bit blue as I am sure AF is coming. I seem to get breast cysts right before AF now (yet another fun thing to deal with) and I have developed one now. Before anyone says anything, my other breast is not sore, so I know it is not early PG symptoms! Actually it is really wierd as I never had this before and the first one started just before my first AF after the m/c.

DH picked up my next prescription of Clomid so I will be prepared when AF arrives.

Hope everyone else OK.

MamaMaiasaura · 29/04/2007 11:34

OMg got a BFP - hope provera not affected baby

lulu1414 · 29/04/2007 12:02

Oh my god! Awen- what wonderful news! I have been thinking of you and wondering if that was, indeed the case. If provera is prgesterone and that is the hormone you produce after ovulation and if you are pregnant, I can't imagine it would harm the baby. What a wonderful start to the day!

pussycatmomma · 29/04/2007 12:05

AWEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH. MY. GOD!!!!!!!!!
you really got a bfp???!!!! That is absolutely wonderful!!! Your first cycle!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW!
big congratulations sweetheart!!!
hope you will be around to tell us more soon
(((big hugs and a few happy tears)))
