But af is here, hurray! which means i can start on the magic beans tomorrow.
So if you would like chat and hand holding too, please sign in here.
Im thinking good sense of humour, sympathy, and patience will be a must

I can tell you my experienes of Clomid if you'd like. Diagnosed as not ovulating (which i told them from the beginning) and given clomid, conceived in cycle 3. No side effects, it was great. When I went for baby no2, I just went straight back to my G.P. who gave my a 3 month supply and let me get one with it, conceived on 1st cycle!

Now, I have moved abroad and am wnting no 3, so I have spoken to the g.p. who said that they would have to run their own tests, which could mean another 12-18m months to get a naffing prescription. I cannot tell you how angry and frustrated I was. So I ordered some off the internet, cheaper than the cost of a prescription here too. Now I'm just waiting to start!

Hi pussycatmomma, although not on clomid at the mo my 5 month DS is a clomid baby!

I was the same as MrsMillionsofcremeggsplease - I knew I wasn't ov'ing and was prescribed Clomid after 18 months of ttc and 1 m/c (Nov '05) Had my first cycle of Clomid Feb '06 and conceived 1st try! We are going to be naughty with no2 (will start ttc again in June) and if nothing by Christmas, will use the other strips of Clomid that I have left over... [tut tut emoticon]

Side effects for me: Was a horrid old bag to DP for a while, very big mood swings.

Just as an aside, why do pills that are supposed to help you get pregnant, make you so evil no-one wants to have sex with you - that was not well thought out...

Anyway, best of luck, hopr you have success and soon

MrsMillionsofcremeggsplease · 27/03/2007 20:18

Another clomid deviant

buttercupbabe · 27/03/2007 20:20

Wow - never knew you could buy such things over the net. You go girl (mrscreamegg) - a shame that where you are now they will make you go through the whole process of testing etc when you know that clomid will work.

MrsMillionsofcremeggsplease · 27/03/2007 20:24

Yes, well it's saved me about £5, so their loss really. I think I know enough about my body and how clomid works to at least start it, so we shall see. Anyway the real point I was trying to make was that it worked quite quickly for me twice.

Good luck to you all!

pussycatmomma · 27/03/2007 20:35

hurray for some idle chatter!!!

by the way buttercup, i am sure the vitamins do not interact with the clomid. My gyny did not ask if i was taking vits or any other supplements. I am only taking a prenatal vit supplement with folic acid. I think the ones you have to be wary of are the chinese herbs from acupuncture dr and also some homeopathic remedies. Have you tried just googling it?

lulu1414 · 28/03/2007 15:28

Hi all- nothing really to add, just wanted to say hi. I am going for a scan on Friday to see what is happening. No news other than that. Hopefully it will be OK and we can get on with things!

MamaMaiasaura · 29/03/2007 11:54

how is it going clomid buddys?

lulu good luck with the scan on Friday. I havent had any since starting clomid. What is scan for again?

Pussycat - how is the clomid going?

lulu1414 · 29/03/2007 13:46

Hi Clomid buddies!

Anwen- thanks. The scan is for two reasons, from what I understand: 1) to check on how the endemitriol wall is building up as mine was very thin because of hormones, the ERPC after miscarriage etc 2) to check to see if there are multiple eggs and therefore the risk of multiple births. It is to check to see if the clomid is working and is not hyperstimulating the ovaries. They would only do this for the first cycle, I think. I am not having blood tests, only this scan. I will let you know how it goes and report back as to why they do it etc.

Everyone- I have had quite an uncomfortable feeling in my lower left abdomen. I do get this feeling quite a bit in anycase, but this feels worse. I don't think it is ovulation as I am CD16 and we think I am on a 36 day cylce. Any ideas?

Good luck all!

coggy · 29/03/2007 14:14

Hey Pusscat............how are the old tablets going?

Are you still busy BDing???!!!
Have you turned into your DH's biggest hormonal nightmare?

I had NO side effects whatsoever BTW!!!
Hope the only side-effect you have is a nice BFP....wouldn't that be good!!

pussycatmomma · 29/03/2007 15:49

hellloooooooooooo everyone!
(((pusscat flumps down on sofa with a cup of tea and a chocolate digestive)))
coggy, nice of you to drop by sweetie, hope you are ok in your "taking a break" month. Have you got your dates for new iui yet?
Always thinking of you and have a peek to see if I can see you around when on mn.
Awen, what cd are you on now?? did you get final (decisive) results from your bloodtest or were they still all misleading? I am not holdng out any great results from my 21 day test, as due to easter etc I am ending up having it on day19!! pretty pointless maybe? We shall see I suppose.
Lulu, the pain you describe could well be ovulation pain? How can you predict what cycle length you are going to have? with my pcos mine are all over the place, I am hoping the clomid will regulate it though. I think a scan is much better than having a blood test, you can really see whats going on in there!! lucky you I will keep my fingers crossed and will be waiting to hear how you got on with things.
I havent had any side effects apart from headaches. In fact I feel really well at the moment! (always helps when its Friday tomorrow!)
I have such an inward kind of excitement going on at the moment, it feels like I am hoping and praying for the best outcome and a bfp, but at the same time I have a nagging resigned kind of feeling of "why should this work, why should i be so fortunate? " .
I dont know if either of you feel the same.
Hope you are both ok.
Awen , you will be testing first I think, are you on cd36 today?

Hiya- I don't think it is ovulation pain as I have this pain on and off throughout my cycle normally- it just feels worse. I guess I will find out tomorrow! I am not sure of my cycle, but... I had no AF for 3 months then had one and then got pregnant. I think that cycle must have been about 28 days judging from the dating scan (unfortunately the baby was 12 plus weeks, but no heart beat). I then had nothing for 4 months. Then looking back had very slight something in January. 36 days later had light but definite AF then 36 days later had heavier AF. Then took clomid. Doc thinks my PCO was only diagnosed in March.

I too have that butterfly feeling- more positive than I have felt in AGES. I think, in part, because something is at least being done and someone is keeping an eye on me.

Are any others of you worried/ been told about possibility of multiple births?

pussycatmomma · 29/03/2007 20:10

hi lulu, wasnt ignoring you, been out walking my dog! I hope you get the good result tomorrow, ie that what you experienced was ovulation pain. That would be fantastic. I also tend to get quite a bit of pain, especially towards mid to late cycle. Before the pcos i used to put this down to ovulation, but now I know this is not the case. My gp suggested that the pain was indicative of the ovaries trying to ovulate, the egg not being released and the cysts building up. That is why the pain goes on for a good few days/weeks rather than a singular or one off pain which could indicate ovulation. I dont know how exact this is but it seems to make sense to me.
As far as the multiple birth thing goes, we have been advised their is a 5% risk increase and I am not concerned about this whatsoever. If I was fortunate enough to fall pregnant with the clomid, 2 would be a bonus

yoo hoo pussycat, I havn't read your whole thread but hope you are well.

awenbadbunny · 29/03/2007 20:48

I am not concerned with multiple pg either whatever i'm blessed with,

Pussycat - The blood test is early.. mine was cd20 (or CD 16 from taking 1st clomid). I got really upset by the result too as showed only 1.1 - the consultant was really re-assuring tho and said that it was way too early to be tested anyway and could easily ov later in cycle. (hoping I have).

The scan you are having lulu sounds like an excellant idea and I think I might ask if i can have one when i speak to consultant next week as it makes a lot of sense to be able to see what's going on. Also going to ask for another blood test. We are still BDing here just in case I have a really late ov.. I think i may have already. Any of you all tearful? I have been easily stressed last few days.

Hi coggy didnt know u were having a break xx hope to see u back soon

awenbadbunny · 29/03/2007 20:49

oo and lulu - sounds like ov pain to me
