Hi thats it really. If there is anyone who is about to start a new cycle with clomid, can you please be my friend?
This will be my first try on clomid, I have pcos, and started af today after a horrible 48 day cycle.
But af is here, hurray! which means i can start on the magic beans tomorrow.
So if you would like chat and hand holding too, please sign in here.
Im thinking good sense of humour, sympathy, and patience will be a must

sorry forgot to ask, minxi what cd are you on?

OP posts:
flosspot · 08/05/2007 09:55

Lulu, sweetie, wait until you speak to the doc (got the new one sorted yet?)Have to say nothing has changed for me since Clomid started- 4.5 days, 2 very heavy, 2 pretty ordinary, or thereabouts. So no help!! Thinking of you though.

Hey Awen, like the porn-star thing...trade-off for allthe hard work DH put in!

PCM- believe it or not spent the weekend in a house with bugger all plumbing. Flush the loo with a bucket, use larger bucket to wash in etc. Will eventually be our 'bolt-hole' out of London. Not ideal. But at long last have stopped spending EVERY weekend in B&Q.[

How is everyone generally? CD18 here. Bugger all to report. No evidence of Ov. but BD a couple of times just in case.Had discussion with DH about going at it hardcore and decided to from CD20. Fingers crossed!

pussycatmomma · 08/05/2007 11:31

hiya everyone...
flosspot how glamorous!! a bolt-hole from london no less, even with a bucket-flush loo, it will be grand in the end
(((tmi alert!)))....cd20 here. Think af is imminent, had some pinky pre-af type mucus after id been for a wee, and then a few drops of what looked like early, watery blood. Very early for me though, normally i am in the 30's part of the cycle before af arrives. Cant remember having her come to stay on cd 20something!
Will keep you all posted.
floss is this your 2nd cycle of clomid?
this is my 2nd, coming up to 3rd next time, and lulu i think has just started her 3rd.
Hope you are all well ......

lulu1414 · 08/05/2007 14:57

Hi all- just waiting to hear from consultant. I love his secretary! She is very calm and makes me feel better and we shared a moan about how c--p by GP is. I haven't yet got a new one, but doing so this week.

I am on CD4 of round 3 of clomid.

Hope everyone is well. PCM- here is hoping AF does stay away and this is just something else!

flosspot · 08/05/2007 18:26

Hi.....Thanks for the blog links, sounds like you had a chaotic day with Nugget floss!! Hope he is better and laying off the duck fat for a while!
Been to watch "the bridge to terabithia" - had tears running down my face for at least 20 mins near the end (obviously was not crying you understand!) Must be feeling extra hormonal...
Well the little "something" this morning was deffo not af, she is firmly staying away. Must have just been a little blip. I am being a brave girl and Not Reading Anything Into It Whatsoever.

PCM - sounds promising keeping fingers crossed for you xxxxxxx

lulu1414 · 09/05/2007 11:19

Fingers crossed, PCM.

OK, fianally spoke to consultant's secretary who had spoken to him. She said that it was fine and just to keep going. She said to make sure to take a pg test before next round of clomid, just to be on the safe side. But he said that the light AF was Ok. I'm not convinced, but I do trust him. So onwards and upwards. So I am now on 3rd cycle of clomid. Feeling terribly weepy and a it down- I'm sure partially the pills and partly life! But will stay positive and hope for the best this time!

Good luck to all.

pussycatmomma · 09/05/2007 15:47

lulu, glad the gyny has ok'd your clomid continued use. Thats one good thing.
cd21 ....nothing exciting to report. Am in the rubbish uncertain period of the cycle...the one where you desperatly try not to get your hopes up, tell yourself you deffo arent pregnant, while at the same time the secret voice whispers in your head "but you miiiiiiiight be"
Hope i have a quickish cycle this month, dont know how much more waiting i can take!!
Have had desperate need to pee (lots!) since sunday......
would love to test and get it out of the way but know it is far too early! Help me stay strong ladies, dont let me fall by the wayside and buy a test!!!!!
I am also on weightwatchers, so not only is temptation in the kitchen cupboards, it also lies in the bathroom too!!!

hope you all ok,

OP posts:
flosspot · 09/05/2007 15:59

Be strong PCM, you've got so much to live for!!!! Weight watchers is evil and it must be destroyed- although until weight gain a thing of the past, suspect it's a burden we all have to bear. Mean consultant told me to lose weight. Took her advice and am now same weight as last time I joined WW.And I work from home, with cupboards to raid whenever I want. Feeling a little proud. But back to my point. Be strong, hold on, you can do it!

Lulu sweetie. Being in the grey place sucks, but you'll come out the other side. We're all here for you. Good news about consultant and Clomid though. Still doing battle with mine.

As for me, CD19, nothing to report. No temp spike, no EWCM, not a chuffing clue.

Oh, and when I reminded DH about BD last night (have to warn him that it's coming up) he said "But I thought you weren't ovulating, so what's the point?"! Angry doesn't begin to describe what I am feeling about that.

coggy · 09/05/2007 16:00

Oh PCM....do I have to do my hmmm-thing again???!!!!!!!
Be strong girl.

Lulu...nobody seemed to think my lighter AF was an issue...I just assumed it would change on clomid. I had my first lot in the days before MN so I just accepted everything and got on with it.
It also went lighter this time round as well...and again I took no notive of it as it had happened last time as well.

I now ask various questions to my fertility nurses and they just say that everyone is different!
Relaxed and reassuring most of the time!
Hopefully the magic pills will work soon for all you ladies.

pussycatmomma · 09/05/2007 16:42

no Coggy, dont do the hhhmmm!!!! I cant bear it!!! Promise not to test this month, will just wait for af to arrive
floss i would be the size of a house if i worked from home!

lulu1414 · 10/05/2007 10:32

Hi all, just wanted to keep our little thread actived. PCM- I'm not saying a word... but good luck to all!

I am feeling better today. I am trying to be really healthy this week and am about to go for a run! I used to be an avid gym goer, but just haven't been that into it since the miscarriage. I've been feeling generally that I haven't been taking care of myself, so this is my new plan.

I am just hoping that all goes well this month. DH is supposedly off for the whole week right at the right time, but he may get called in. Here's hoping he is here all week- if only to keep me from totally spinning out!

minxi · 10/05/2007 10:49

Hi Lulu - yes thread should still keep going!

...I know how you feel less healthy etc last week felt really positive but last couple of days just keep thinking I'm never going to get pregnant again - not sure why I feel that way just feeling a bit low...and just feel after 2.5 years why would it happen now with a stupid pill ?! Sorry sad moan over!

Hope everyone is ok

MamaMaiasaura · 10/05/2007 10:54

minxi - it can happen. Sometimes our bodies just need a kick start. I seriously didnt think that it had worked for me, and the consultant actually thinks that i ov'd without the clomid. Perhaps tho the clomid helped my body start iykwim.

I also managed to get my BMI under 25. I was on metformin tds which I am absolutely sure helped. Also lots and lots and lots of bding .. altho not lots and lots of foreplay!!

I really really didnt think it had worked tho and also tried to stop myself obsessing (I was getting pretty bad )

I really really really hope it works for you all. Sending lots and lots of baby dust.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

minxi · 10/05/2007 11:01

Oh I know Awen thank you for your kind workds ...just having one of those days where I feel sad about the whole lot of it!

Good luck with your pregnancy and giving hope to us all xx

MamaMaiasaura · 10/05/2007 11:08

it probably sounds really insincere, but I do understand days like that xx

lulu1414 · 10/05/2007 11:23

Minxi- I really do know how you feel and I think all of us here do. I was definitely feeling that way for the past few days. I keep telling myself to be positive, but the dark thoughts creep in. I kept saying earlier this week that I just don't want to feel this way, but have no idea how to shake myself out of it. I guess that is why I am trying to DO something ie be a bit healthy, get a bit more excercise (totally scuppered by the pouring rain!) etc. The other thing that made me feel better is I went to see my cousin and his lovely wife who have 2 children after 2 heartbreaking miscarriages. I've found some friends to be really comforting as some have had similar experiences. And it helps to have you mn friends too!

flosspot · 10/05/2007 17:19

Golly ladies- must be the weather making us all feel so blue. Hope things feel brighter soon for you all. Spent the day looking after fat cuddly 9 month old, which was a bit tough, natch. did have some good news though.

To continue the consultant/scan saga, spoke with surgery, who said they had not received letter from hospital. Spoke to consultant's secretary who told me that I needed Follicular tracking, and that I was meeting the man himself at my next appointment on 23rd and he would explain the next step. She even apologised as she thought someone had gotten back to me to explain all....

So ladies, follicular tracking, any idea????

pussycatmomma · 10/05/2007 17:25

flossie it is where you have regular scans to measure the size of your follicles. From this they can anticipate ovulation, and pin-point what is happening exactly.
Im feeling really blue today too. The 2week wait does absolutely nothing for my mental health.
Have given myself A Jolly Good Talking To and have decided (for today at least) that I am definately not pregnant this month and that I should stop day dreaming and fantasising about something that may well not happen, and certainly won't happen just by me wishing it too.

  • to. See, even my spelling and grammar has gone a bit loopy.
OP posts:
flosspot · 10/05/2007 17:33

Loopy's allowed. It's a ridiculous state we all live in, hoping and temping and testing. What happened to the simple "YOu fall in love, you get married, you fall pregnant" we were taught at school?????

Thanks for the info PCM- makes me bloody glad I work from home if I've got to fit all this in. Turns out the local hospital doesn't do that sort of scanning (apparently they no longer do fertility treatment....) but the man I am meeting is the best fertility guy at our hospital. Complicated if I have to keep going there to see him and somewhere else to have scans...not forgetting the blood tests.

I'm assuming that the reason I'm having to do this is because they are trying to work out if I am likely to ovulate at all ever.

God, I've written loads- am I a bore?
