Hi thats it really. If there is anyone who is about to start a new cycle with clomid, can you please be my friend?
This will be my first try on clomid, I have pcos, and started af today after a horrible 48 day cycle.
But af is here, hurray! which means i can start on the magic beans tomorrow.
So if you would like chat and hand holding too, please sign in here.
Im thinking good sense of humour, sympathy, and patience will be a must

Not a bore at all Floss! I do think it sounds that you are making progress, though. The tracking sounds a good idea and will mean you can know exactly what is happening and when you are ovulating.

PCM I know exactly how you are feeling. Take care and look after yourself.

pussycatmomma · 10/05/2007 18:22

no you aren't a bore at all floss. We are all the same, it is extremely difficult not to become self obsessed about ttc. I think it is a good thing you are getting follicular tracking. I asked my cons about it when he prescribed the clomid, he told me it wasnt necessary and that 1 blood test on day 21 of my first cycle would basically be all i would be getting in the whole 6mths
so your scans are a good thing, even though it might be a faff running about to the different hospitals.

It'd better be worth it, that's all I can say!!!

Feeling the love, people. Sending it out into the interweb ether to find you and bring you good luck!

wyatt · 10/05/2007 21:34

Flosspot, it is so worth it, I understand it is an emotional rollercoaster, I am ttc no.2 at the moment and trying to stay positive but the clomid isn't doing it's magic yet.

Sending you all wishing dust sprinkles

coggy · 11/05/2007 08:50

minxi...the tablets can be magic.....I was ttc for nearly 5 years then fell pg after my third month of clomid....it can happen...but those sad days seem to come a bit more frequently after a long time of ttc don't they?
(((((hugs))))) for you.

Coggy- tell all. A bit nervous about what's involved, how often I have tobe poked and prodded etc. Tell all after your appointment.....

...though if I don't answer, don't take it personally. Off to the house with no bathroom again for the weekend. And won't have interweb.

Flossie CD21- I think- cycle 2 of Clomid. Super long cycles!!

wyatt · 11/05/2007 16:59

Mrs Mills,

I wouldn't judge you for not seeing the doctor, my husband and I were abroad, and we bought enough clomid to see us through a few extra months if we needed. This was when we were trying for no 1 and conceived on first cylce.

No 2 however is proving a little more difficult, currently on cycle three, had positive on cycle 2 but misscarried, meantime the time to see the consultant has been deminishing, so not too long a wait, thank goodness my supplies are low!!! Maybe another holiday DH?

minxi · 12/05/2007 08:26

Thanks Coggy! I'm just hoping they do work there magic soon...feeling a bit more positive!!

Minxi cd20 cycle 2 of clomid

coggy · 12/05/2007 12:03

When I was on clomid....(I shouldn't really be here cos I've finished with all that now!!!)...I had follicular tracking to check that they were doing what they should be. When I had decent size follicles they gave me an hcg jab to get them released....that's why they kept track so that they knew when it was time to have the jab.
I know that alot of clinics do it totally differently though.

It involves an internal scan....not as bad a a smear...just a probe with the Ultra Sound thing on the end...a bulbos (sp??) probe which was rather uncomfortable going in but once the wider bit went in it was fine!!

I was apparently "rather small" so it may not be as uncomfortable for others.
Since having my ds..it doesn't bother me at all!!!!!!
One plus there then!!!!

They wiggle it around to look at the womb lining and how many and the size of the follicles.
I responded very well to the clomid and usually had about 3 or 4 follicles.....always a worry for multiples!!!

Now I have the tracking done around CD9, again on CD11 and then sometimes once more because I am having IUI treatment at the moment and they need to accurately time OV. This cycle I also had to have an USS on CD1 which was not a grim as I thought it would be.

I was always really worried about the next stage in ttc....but as each stage comes it gets more 'normal' and now I am used to having the tracking and other things.
HTH.

flosspot · 14/05/2007 09:16

Coggy- thanks for the info. Very useful- almost looking forward to it!!!

PCM- know what you mean- been feeling low all weekend. Blame it on the weather man.

Hello all...

PCM CD26

MrsMills · 14/05/2007 10:08

Well I'm now concerned that I'm having really long af , am currently on cd 8 and she's still going strong!

Would it be possible to ovulate whilst still bleeding?

Thanks wyatt, sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I was prescribed clomid for my 2 ds's so I'm fairly confident but, as you're experiencing - you can never be sure. At the very least you have an appointment with a consultant to help things along if necessary, though hopefully it won't come to that for you.

I do feel sort of naughty doing it this way however. Ho hum

lulu1414 · 14/05/2007 10:30

Hi guys. hope everyone had a good weekend. Yes this weather is relentless! But we had a really good weekend and so far DH has not been called into work, which is good as it is time to start at it!

MrsM- as you can see from earlier threads my AF was really wierd too- very light in my case. But my doc said not to worry...

Hope everyone has a good week and that the next few weeks bring some good news on our little thread.

flosspot · 16/05/2007 10:38

CD48, Awen, there's clearly hope for us all!

lulu1414 · 16/05/2007 11:18

That's lovely news, Awen. Keep us posted. Hope everyone else is well.

pussycatmomma · 16/05/2007 19:30

just wanted to say to awen - your ovulation date is truly inspiring! congrats on your scan, bet it is starting to feel real now for you. Hope you are feeling well.
Have given up a bit this month. We only bd around the first half/middle of my cycle. After I had the spotting on day20 we havent really bothered much. day 28 today. Have been practical and not tested, (whats the point?) and am just waiting for af.
Seriously thinking about not taking the clomid next month just to give my head a rest if you know what i mean. Dh not keen to do this, thinks I should take it anyway and just chill out more (hmmm, easier said than done....)
Am sure af is imminent. Had an awful day today, not just about ttc, but in general. Burst into tears at work (how unprofessional) and just feel as if the whole thing is really dragging me down just now.
And the bloody rain is not helping
Hope today finds you lot more cheery than me!

minxi · 16/05/2007 20:40

pcm - know how you feel but cheer up - could be symptons of af too....!! Don't give up now....if you do have to do next month that will be your third...then give up for a month and relax then take the rest a month or so later....oh I don't know I'm inthe same boat....

cd24 today and last night was a raging cow to my ds2 in the night as I was losing precious sleep....not normally like that so have put it down to the clomid...said that to dh and he said oh right when did you take them again.... men grrr !!

Feel a bit better now although this week since Monday have had on off slight temperatures, queasiness, now dodgy throat and sinuses hurting....plus twisted my ankle yesterday and meant to be doing moonwalk on Saturday night!! not a good start!
oh well chin up I don't feel its going to happen for me this month but can't not try next month again just in case....depressing though!!

flosspot · 17/05/2007 09:14

Melancholy abounds- spent the last few days in tears over nothing. Have broken things, burnt things, walked into things and been headbutted by dog. Consultant appointment next Wed, so hopefully will know more then.

Big smooches to you all. Hopefully the weekend will bring positivity?!!!
