Cobweb, after my mc, the first time we went to bd, I cried and couldn't go through with it for feeling guilty. However it does pass and you will know if it is right for you. Good luck.

popsycal · 13/08/2004 20:16

Just thought I would pop in to say hello and hugs to everyone (used to poston here as ermentrude). Good luck girls!

tex111 · 14/08/2004 08:31

AF arrived this morning and the postman delivered my Medisave pregnancy tests so I'm all set for the month! Great tip Twiga! I ordered them yesterday morning and they're already here. So inexpensive too.

katierocket · 14/08/2004 09:16

bluestar I know exactly how you feel. it's awful isn't it when you want a ds/dd for the one you have.

Piffle - what's happening with you?

Twiga · 14/08/2004 13:19

Cheers for all your support, I'm so glad I found MN. No need for me to test, AF arrived this morning, is much heavier than usual which I guess explains my boob symptoms. In some ways it's a huge relief, I know one cycle is recommended after mc and I want to be as healthy as I can in terms of ttc but couldn't help hoping too.

Cobweb, my mc was the 12th July and this is my first AF - we're going to be trying again straight away too. I think I kinda know where you're coming from, we still feel very sad about the baby we lost and it's difficult to not feel guilty about wanting to ttc and start the family we're so desparate for. MC is tough and it's often a bereavement that is unmarked - normally you have an obvious mourning process when you lose someone - we've found it really difficult grieving for someone we didn't get a chance to meet and having that lack of process about it. We bought a rose for our garden which we planted to mark what had happened, it helped in that it let us feel that we had marked the life/future that we'd hoped for with that pregnancy. Everyone's different and I don't know if this sort of thing would be helpful for you and DH, I guess that these things just need time to heal. All the best with ttc, we're thinking of you and really hope it happens for you soon.

tex111, glad to be of use! Like I said the balancing over the cup thing can be a bit tricky but hey it's worth it! Looks like we're starting AF on same day, nice to have company - lets hope this is our month .

caz61 · 14/08/2004 20:02

Hi All

Just rejoining this thread....was here over a year ago but really concentrating on ttc now and at 42 becoming just a little paranoid and obsessed!!!

Am using Persona which says I ovulate but my GP has sent me for a 21 day progesterone test which says I am not....although as my 21 day actually fell on a Saturday and cannot get blood tests done on that day had it done as late as poss on the Friday! Has anyone else had this??? Should I be asking for any other tests??

Many congrats to all those lucky ladies on this thread - and wishing lots of luck and baby dust for those TTC - if there's any spare baby dust out there - could I have a sprinkle!!??

Will be back later in the week...

ChaCha · 15/08/2004 10:25

Morning Everyone,
Congratulations to all those with BFP's

CD7 i think. Not trying this month. Did not take the medication. Can't stand it at times, hormones everywhere and heavy AF. Am on holiday, read 'Shouldknowbyfriday's' by post and feel the same on the whole holiday issue, am not stressing. Will try to lose some weight and cut out caffeine and see how we go.

Depressed Chacha x

Hi Twiga, great to have a cycle buddy! I can obsess over your symptoms instead of mine this month. This is my second AF after a m/c so we're in very similiar situations. Best of luck to you!

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a good weekend.

Twiga · 15/08/2004 13:23

tex111 what are you doing in terms of working out the best way ttc? We're not really doing anything (apart from the obvious ) as we don't want it to be too high preasured. The only thing we've been doing is working out ovulation dates - been using the babycentre site, it has an ovulation calculator under interactive tools and works out based on cycle, also gives due dates. My cycle is usually 28-30 days depending, averaging it out to 29 most fertile time this month 25th-29th putting due dates at 19th-23rd may 05.

www.babycentre.co.uk

Do you have any children already (sorry if this is a daft question but the thread is getting a bit long for re-reading through quickly)? Heading out to work shortly, can't wait for tommorrow - got three days off once shift finished - feeling bloated and yuky with Af and just want to curl up on sofa and eat, lots!

Hope everyone's having a great weekend x

Slink · 15/08/2004 14:13

Slink · 15/08/2004 18:42

Twiga went on to the baby site got some info dh walked in and could not stop laughing at predictions he said he feels like a machine ..... will be tonite good luck to all that are bd tonite xxx

tex111 · 15/08/2004 20:09

Hi Twiga, we're going a bit crazy with all the TTC stuff - temping, charting, eating special things, etc, etc. We have a 2 year old DS and it took almost a year before we got PG with him. Over that time we built up a little repetoire of TTC tricks. With the pregnancy that we lost it just sort of happened, with no real planning or preparation. I think I'm being a bit superstitious and am doing all the stuff we did for DS. I guess it worked once so hopefully it'll work again.

I love the babycentre site. Their Baby Namer is great. I often look at the US version www.babycenter.com too. They have a bit more information and tools and stuff. It's great for us to cross-reference names too. I don't want to choose anything in the top 20 for either country.

Enjoy your days off! I've got that horrible AF bloat too. We went to the movies today and I seem to have ODed on Revels. Awful headache. I guess the headache could actually be from the film. Do not waste your money on Catwoman. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

Slink, what cycle day are you now? Day 6 sounds awfully early for O, not impossible but it would mean you have cycles about 19 days long. Is that correct? I'd go by CM if you're in doubt. If you get visible CM that's a great sign that you're in your fertile phase and time to BD. Good luck!

Tessiebear · 15/08/2004 20:19

Have been luking on this thread - for personal research!!! What is CM???

tex111 · 15/08/2004 20:25

Brace yourself... cervical mucous. Sometimes called cervical fluid or eggwhite because fertile CM is the consistency of raw eggwhite.

Tessiebear · 15/08/2004 20:42

Thanks tex111 - that is what i thought it was but didnt know what it stood for! Do you get a lot of it when you ovulate?

twolongtwoweeks · 15/08/2004 20:43

thats nothing Tex, i can be alot more graphic on the mucas lines.

Through research i have found out that wait for it, sorry girls but............... you need to finger test the mucas. Ithas to be the egg whitey stage and if it stretches between your fingers and is tacky and breaks then ovulatiion hasnt happened or is over. When it starts getting stretchy then you are close to Ov and when you can stretch it to two centimeteres or there abouts without it breaking then this is ovulation.

Hows that for grossness

Tessiebear · 15/08/2004 20:46

That is SERIOUS research Twolongtwoweeks, PML!!!

twolongtwoweeks · 15/08/2004 20:51

Tell me about it!!! Was just checking a Ovulation site and it came up with this. I was quite shocked about how graphic it was when i read it, but for those ladies that are trying then this is the kinda stuff that is thrived on iyswim

runtus · 16/08/2004 08:32

Morning all - hope everyone had a good weekend . I love logging back in on a Monday and catching up with everyone's developments and news. Hopefully we can have some more graduates this month!

Not sure what is going on with me at the moment. Woken up today feeling a bit queasy and spent the whole weeekend asleep but don't want to get my hopes up too early. Not sure if the nausea is related to ttc or the massive curry I had for tea last night .

Off on holiday on thursday and would love to have some 'news' before we go away..........here's hoping!

Azure · 16/08/2004 09:07

Ok,here goes. You may not believe this - and I'm certainly struggling after all this time - but last night I tested and got a Big Fat Positive .
