Come and join me in this new thread. I want a least one graduate per week and no ttcing to take longer than two months for everyone here!!

Piffleoffagus · 10/08/2004 10:26

Is early response not the best one pre period to use then?
I have had 2 negs... althogh on 2nd there was a pink dot where the 2nd line would be IYKWIM
bizarre dh dreamed I was preg and maintains that he knws that I am.
I normally get one or two big zits sore ones before af as well, about 5 days before, af due in bewteen 2 and 4 days depending on its routine and no spots!!! Also no extra pink mucous/spotting that I would normally have..
I still dare not get excited, despite the burning boobs...
If I go into town and blow some mroe ontest kit? what brand should I get?

Azure · 10/08/2004 10:33

Best of luck Piffleofagus!

Oh god sounds like some of you are going through torture today, hope it all works out ok for you.

I'm 1DPO (I think) but I'm going to chase my DH round the bedroom again tonight just in case . I couldn't really tell when af came last month becuase to begin with it was just sort of spotting but then very gradually became af proper. So I have been treating the whole week as ovulation time really!

Piffleoffagus · 10/08/2004 12:48

sitting here examing every little niggle or pain.
Am almost certainly instintively sure I am pregnant, but would be so gutted to get it wrong.
I feel kind of expectant, whereas other months I have not been expecting it at all...
this month things happened differently, it is too weird to explain...
I must log off and get a life!!!

katierocket · 10/08/2004 13:06

piffles - sound like very strong possiblity. good luck
I'm 99% sure I'm not this month but we'll see.

bluestar · 10/08/2004 13:28

piffle, sounds really good for you. Not sure I feel as confident but 12DPO and no spotting but DPO maybe slightly out. Think I will pass out if I am actually pg after so long trying! exactly the reason why I think I'm probably not tho.

AlisSkinner · 10/08/2004 14:10

Hello everybody! New to this so not sure if I use the correct terminology! Have been ttc no 2 for 4 months so not a massive time but after no problems with DD (first time of trying!) I really need to learn a bit more about my cycle! DH works away so I feel my opportunities are limited somewhat ! I know this is basic stuff but am I better to try (bd? I'm trying to learn the terms!!) before, during or after ovulation?? Sorry to seem stupid but I've really enjoyed reading this thread but feel I've a lot to learn!! Really touched by everyones support to each other - what a great site! Would welcome any advice - more basic the better!!!

muddaofsuburbia · 10/08/2004 15:07

Not this month - AF early at the weekend, but it's blimmin' agony this time - all the more incentive to get pg. Af on the pill was virtually pain free - back to misery and hot water bottles .

This a huge thread btw - do they always get this long?

BeckiF · 10/08/2004 15:37

Hi All ... just checking in. Still no AF and I can't remember how many days it is now?? Does anyone else?!!

I am up to 5 Metformin a day and they are sitting fine. I started Healthy Clean eating just last Tuesday and can you believe I've lost 12lbs already! Mind you I do have a lot to lose, so this first bit was bound to be easy.

Anyway, take care y'all!

MrsFogi · 10/08/2004 15:38

Just before, during and just after AlisS! Check out Fertility Friend it's very helpful if you want to understand your cycle.

Azure · 10/08/2004 15:44

Sorry about AF Muddaofsuburbia - yes, the threads always get this long. BeckiF, sounds like you're doing really well - losing 12lbs in a week is incredible! You're on day 304 by the way .

AlisSkinner - welcome to the thread. I hope you graduate soon! It is best to BD from 4 days prior to ovulation, up to a day or two afterwards. The jury is out over whether it's better to BD every other day or every day - a quality vs quantity thing.

OP posts:
bluestar · 10/08/2004 16:06

Spotting
Although disappointed, being pregnant wouldn't be such great timing in that I am being made redundant in 3 weeks. I was getting a bit scared that I could accept a job, turn up in a few weeks and be obviously pregnant. Buying myself a little bit of time. Still gutted though.

runtus · 10/08/2004 16:21

Miserable, just had a customer write to me and congratulate me on being pg.

Had to write back and say sorry but you've got me confused with S**h .

malinki · 10/08/2004 16:26

Beckif its CD200000000000 or something like that isn't it , no on a more serious note I think the last time you checked in it was CD231 approx. Tell me more about the weight loss, how did you manage so much, do you think it had something to do with the Met??? Keep us posted.

BeckiF · 10/08/2004 17:07

Blimey is it THAT long since my last cycle

I've managed to shift this much weight for a couple or reasons. Firstly because I have so much to lose the first bit just falls off. Secondly I have been eating fresh fruit and salads all week, with some chicken ans a lovely poached salmon fillet last night. I have to say that I had a litre of frozen dessert on Sunday and STILL lost a pound! I also drink about 3 to 4 litres of fluid a day.

I have no doubts that the loss will slow down soon, but I'll keep on bashing away. I'm worried that I've had the menopause at 34 but I don't really think I have .... I'm also worried about retaining pg if I am that lucky.

AlisSkinner · 10/08/2004 18:10

Thanks Mrs Fogi and Azure for tips - its a whole new world I need to learn about! DH flying home from business early this week so might have to suprise him with lots of BD! (TMI??) Only problem is DD is so not a good sleeper ... but thats another thread I think!!!

So good to "see" other people in similar positions - was starting to get seriously hacked off with permanently being asked why we hadn't produced no 2!

Feel like I'm intruding a bit on everybodies stories but happy to support in any way I can!

tex111 · 10/08/2004 18:20

Ugh!! Going out of my mind here. 10dpo and got a BFN this morning but I'm not giving up yet. Could still be a bit early and I keep going to the loo and I've been feeling a bit sicky after I eat. I'm driving myself insane with the tension of it all. The only thing that might calm me is if I could do an HPT every hour on the hour until AF arrives or I get a BFN!

Cobweb · 10/08/2004 18:48

Welcome AlisSkinner

I am not trying but not stopping it either, if that makes sense

DH and I are just being carefree right now and really enjoying non-stress related sex

Sprinklings of baby dust for you xxx

I lost my baby 6 weeks ago and this site was invaluable for its information, support and love

Piffleoffagus · 10/08/2004 18:53

sorry bluestar about AF, you were my af date buddy!
Sorry too cobweb did not know you had lost a baby so recently either.
hugs
still no sign of Af , am going away at w/e to MIL and FIL without my dd so will have some time to consider whichever way it goes...

AlisSkinner · 10/08/2004 19:51

Cobweb - thanks for your lovely message - really brought it home to me that perhaps I am getting a little obsessed and maybe need to chill out a bit! So sorry for your loss and congrats on having such a positive outlook!

Congrats too to BeckiF - impressive will power! Find it difficult to eat sensibly with DH away all week - will take tip from you and get salmon fillets for tomorrow night and try and keep away from the ice cream!

Postitive notes all round - DD actually gone to sleep tonight without usual 2 hour struggle! Hurray!!!

ShouldKnowByFriday · 10/08/2004 20:39

I'm sitting here to read the ttc thread to see who is and who isn't preg and one thing has struck me:

I feel as though I am on holiday because:

  1. I'm not testing my pee to see if ovulating
  2. I'm not waiting to see if I am preg as I know I'm not
  3. I'm not being the deceitful sex kitten trying to get my wicked way with DH who hasn't a clue what's going on

and I feel sooooooooooooooo relaxed UNTIL day 11 when the whole sh*t routine starts again ... for the fourth time I might add!

Does anybody else feel this way? My holiday lasts for another 9 days so making the most of it!

logic · 10/08/2004 20:39

Evening 'all...

Commiserations on all the AFs.
My cycle is so erratic that I don't know when mine is due...

Hello to AlisSkinner!

Hugs to Cobweb from me too. I had an early m/c before ds and that was bad enough...

Thanks Morgan for the info. It's still early days for me but I didn't know what the waiting lists were like.

Seabird · 10/08/2004 21:15

Thanks for the birthday greetings Tania2 We had a lovely evening though dd was ill at my mum's the next day so that wasn't so good. It was great to have a lie in though!

Runtus - glad to hear you're getting your dh into the swing of things

Sorry to hear about all the AFs. Really hoping for a few BFPs soon+++++

xoz · 11/08/2004 07:25

Just did a test and got a BFP!!!!! It was so strong that it appeared immediately and just got stronger. Very pleased and so is DH.

Twiga · 11/08/2004 07:35

Congratulations xoz, great news !
