Sounds like good news to me Mitzi

Another AF here, I'm afraid, no big surprise this month. Ho hum, at least I'll be able to drink on dh's birthday (we're away for a weekend together mid-cycle this month, so at least we should be in with a chance for once ).

mitzi · 09/08/2004 15:02

Thanks girls i hope you are all right, I keep asking myself if i imagined the faint vertical line but i am pretty sure it was there, but i will test again in a couple of days.I cant wait for dh to come home from work to tell him, then it will all become clear to him why I have been a complete cow over the past week or so.
i said I wouldn't tell any of my family straight away but I really want to tell my mum and dad, also my db and dsil have their 2nd baby next Monday.

runtus · 09/08/2004 15:04

Congrats Mitzi!

bluestar · 09/08/2004 15:24

Congratulations Mitzi - the first graduate of the week!! Hopefully me & piffle (sorry for keep shortening your name!) will join you!!

Congratulations Mitzi and commiserations to everyone who's being visited by aunt flo.

hester · 09/08/2004 15:43

Mitzi, that's great Well done, you.

I'm on day 15 and am already getting period pains. Think I must be finally losing my mind...

mitzi · 09/08/2004 15:43

Sorry about your af Mrs Flowerpot how selfish of me to keep waffling on about me..
I am still convinced my af is about to make an appearance cause i have got bad backache like i usually get.I just had another peek at my pg test and the vertical line has gone, I know you dont rely on it after 10 mins but I am sure the bfp stayed there with my last two pregnancies.Which makes me think I was imagining it.I know i sound completely neurotic but after my mc in dec I am just terrified about being pg again.

xoz · 09/08/2004 15:43

to all of you whose AF arrived.
to Mitzi... congratulations.

I'm 2 days past AFs due date and still no sign, am feeling positive, but not getting my hopes up too much, as the same thing happened last month.
I thinkI might test tonight after the kids have gone to bed..... fingers crossed

Azure · 09/08/2004 15:52

Ooh, sounds promising Xoz - fingers crossed.

Congratulations Mitzi, don't worry about test, it's only supposed to last 10 mins.
Good luck to all those waiting....!
Heter, I'm joining you...I too am going out of my mind...!
Okay a question here for next month: Wot if there isn't any egg white?

Slink · 09/08/2004 19:12

I am sure i am clutching at straws here but...... i have been feeling nausea and feing odd. Then came on Tuesday finished Thursday but still feeling nausea tummy is tight thought i was constipated but had the poos and then was ok... Do you think by a MIRICLE I COULD BE PREGNANT ????????????????????????????? i have just ordered more ovulation tests from this new site so let me start again this month. Thanks for litsenting anywayxxxxx

Cobweb · 09/08/2004 20:00

Thanks you Azure for the information, DH and I have been very carefree since my AF which started on 1st August, so I guess that we have to be cateful from 14th.

Congratulations Mitzi, another test in a couple of days should confirm things, but I was told that a line is a line

mrsflowerpot · 09/08/2004 20:03

not selfish at all Mitzi - you keep on waffling! Lovely to have good news after the wave of AF recently.

xoz · 09/08/2004 22:19

Well I did the test and the best I can say is inconclusive... not sure if it worked properly. Will try again in a couple of days if AF hasn't arrived...

mitzi · 09/08/2004 22:28

well it looks like im not this weeks graduate. Still no AF but decided to do another test. This time i used Predictor and got a BFN.Cannot believe how gutted I feel.

ShouldKnowByFriday · 09/08/2004 22:54

Mitzi, do you need to re-test in a few days? How could you have got a pos result before?

mitzi · 09/08/2004 23:00

skbf, I will do another test in a few days time if af hasnt arrived,I dont know how i got a + then a - the fisrt test was a clearblue and i got a faint +, the 2nd test was a predictor and was a bfn.I am now thinking that i imagined the + because it was very faint.I suppose i will just have to wait a couple of days and test again. I feel such a fraud getting congratulations from you all all day.

ShouldKnowByFriday · 09/08/2004 23:33

Mitzi, you're not a fraud, it's that bl**DY preg home testing kit, must be faulty! Do re-test if AF doesn't arrive - I even re-tested today as AF very slow and hasn't really got going so used Early Reponse...just in case I was experiencing "spotting in pregnancy". Hah! Tested in Starbucks and came out with a long face thinking how silly I am!
When will you re-test?

mitzi · 10/08/2004 08:16

Still no af , I think I will retest on Friday if I can wait that long, got to go to work now see you all later.

xoz · 10/08/2004 09:21

Mitzi, it sounds like you're in the same boat as me. I tested with a clearblue last night, and TBH I think it was a faint positive, but the line in the second window (the "test has worked" window) was really faint too, so this is why I'm not sure if it worked properly.... has anyone else ever experienced this???
AF still hasn't arrived and I'm going out today, so I'll get a new pack of tests then (GRRRR... thinking about the price again)

bluestar · 10/08/2004 09:30

mitzi, hang on in there. Maybe try a digital clearblue test - might prove more conclusive but still best to give it another day or so.

Still no spotting but am getting a bit obsessed everytime I go to the toilet to check to see that I am just weeing if this makes sense? Temps have gone slightly higher again. However temps were a bit erratic at ovulation time so am not entirely sure when I am due on. Think maybe Thursday-Saturday so just playing the waiting game.

Azure · 10/08/2004 09:40

Sounds promising for lots of you - Bluestar, Slink and Xoz. Hold on in there Mitzi - I understand that you can get a false positive but not a false negative. Best of luck with your testing, girls, and remember that pee from first thing in the morning gives the strongest result.

OP posts:
Azure · 10/08/2004 09:41

Oops, I got that the wrong way around - you can get a false negative, but not a false positive.
