Oh otters - I just saw your update. I'm so sorry AF got you. And sorry for your DH loss also. That must have been such a shock. Look after yourself lovely. ❤️❤️❤️

Oh lovely otters I was so sorry to read your news. I can’t imagine how crushed you must feel. At least the clomid is improving things each month. Are you going to go up a dose this month again? We’re here if and when you need us Flowers Also lots of love to your DH, what a sad time. Thinking of you both.

Thanks guys! My understanding is that they combine the results from the nuchal fold along with the levels from my blood test to provide a statistical chance of whether our baby has downs syndrome, edward’s or patau’s.

JB that may be it on the spotting front. Am keeping everything crossed from you. Such a stressful time but you’ll know soon. Re-FRER-ing at the weekend sounds like a good plan.

buzz excellent about the job! So good if you don’t have to interview. Sounds like things are moving pretty fast - just wear some floaty tops Grin

DancingUnicorn · 04/05/2017 20:07

Oh otters. Gutted for you. And what a crap time for DH too. So sorry about his friend. Hoping the Italian sunsets continue to be beautiful for the two of you. Thinking of you both. 💐

Jupiter I know I would have got my combined results on the day. But Kings has a phlebotomy lab on site, which is seriously impressive. I'm not sure how long it takes elsewhere.

Buzz that's fab about the job! I hope your meetings today were at least useful. Hate lots of meetings that are pointless!

Jb it really is a stressful time. Hopefully that's the last of it! Do you self refer where you are, or go through GP?

I'm currently in my way home from my first ever tap class since I was about 3! So much fun!!

Hope no one questions your excuses tonight grumpy. And I would be soooo cross about spoilers! I have my account set so I have to approve anything that people tag me in/write on there. Doesn't help with mutual friends, but helps a little. My mum congratulated me for a new job once, I was fuming!

buzzmoon · 04/05/2017 20:12

Oh otters I'm absolutely gutted for you. Can't imagine how you're feeling and so terrible for DH I hope you're both okay ❤️ that sunset is beautiful I hope you can enjoy the rest of your holiday the best that you can and look forward to next month. 3 is the magic number so cycle 3 of clomid will hopefully be your month 🤞🏽 sending you ALL the hugs Flowers

Yeah that sounds right jupiter you'll probably make your next appointment after the scan. Not long now!! :)

jb really hope af doesn't come tomorrow. I agree you had such a massive bfp so hoping it's okay ❤️

buzzmoon · 04/05/2017 20:13

dancing that sounds fabulous!! I used to be a tap dancer 🙈 haven't done it since I was 18 but would love to get back into it! I loved it and was pretty good but then when to uni and drank and got fat!

buzzmoon · 04/05/2017 20:14

Thank you all for well wishes on the job front! Just hoping it happens soon! Better start brushing up on my application!!

Mummyme87 · 04/05/2017 20:20

Sorry otters about AF. Have a large glass or two of something tonight xx

buzz great news about job 😊

A lot of places do the Combined blood tests for chromosomal abnormalities in advance of the Nuchal scan so you get the results at time of scan, if not I think it takes a few days to come back. I believe the lab for it is at kings but still takes a few days to process.

Had the sharp left sided pain in ground and lower abdomen throughout the day intermittently. Praying it's a little embryo burying itself in to my uterus 🙏🏻

Mummyme87 · 04/05/2017 20:20

In groin* not ground

TheGrumpySquirrel · 04/05/2017 20:26

So sorry otters Flowers take care of yourself

Dancing can you set it so you have to approve comments too? If so, how?

DancingUnicorn · 04/05/2017 20:30

Oh... I've never tried. Sorry didn't read properly grumpy. I'm sure there must be a way... I'll investigate later on my laptop. The settings change all the time, so I like to make sure it's all nice and tight!

HeyJupiter · 04/05/2017 20:47

Wow Dancing tap dancing sounds great, really glad you had a nice time :)

Thanks for the info mummy, I am having my bloods taken after my scan so imagine I’ll have the results within a week. Well I think those pains sound very promising - can’t wait for you to test!

grumpy I’d be so cross about the spoiler too - every one of the (very few) people we’ve told have been given the whole ‘so don’t accidentally mention it on facebook’ line from us (especially family haha) Hope you’re having a fab time.

HbH · 04/05/2017 20:49

Oh Otters so sorry to you & your DH Flowers

Glad to hear the promo is powering through buzz Keith's gonna be so proud!

Jb yay that your spotting has disappeared

HeyJupiter · 04/05/2017 20:50

Hahaha Hb, that's so funny. Keith will be SO proud Grin

buzzmoon · 04/05/2017 21:03

Hehe love Keith. DP has started his new job and is not enjoying it, but has come home and said it's okay it's for Keith! Poor thing, hope it gets better!

Mummyme87 · 04/05/2017 21:10

I just had a bit of pink spots on tissue when I went to the toilet but then I checked my cervix and saw nothing 🤔 Think I'm imagining things now.
Thank god im coming to the end of the tww.

Wiggleyfingers · 04/05/2017 21:12

Loved reading all of the updates this evening! Had a manic few days.

So I've officially descended into TWW chaos! (Yes, DP did pull out so I'm being completely irrational 🙄) but I've had hot flashes for the last two days and now I've got a sore throat so that must mean I'm pregnant! Hmm Humped please tell me some of your tww symptoms so I can experience them tomorrow being completely delusional! It's so hard not to be crazy.

Wiggleyfingers · 04/05/2017 21:21

That sounds positive mummy! implantation bleeding is such a mystery to so many people! How many days until AF is due?

Mummyme87 · 04/05/2017 21:39

I'm 8dpo wiggley, AF due in 5 days time. It's not And spotting as I get brown discharge pre AF and my cervix opens. Could be anything tbf.. especially as I have had a bit of a UTI and ?thrush. I would have thought I would have learnt from 6months of symptom spotting 😂 It was easier when I got pregnant with DS and non of the wiser at this stage

JB1983 · 04/05/2017 21:44

You are surely living up to your name dancing 😂 Glad you had a fun night.
It's self referral to midwives here but I don't want to book too early because as soon as I get bloods taken my work will know. Will just wait and see what happens over the next few days.

wiggley logical thinking goes out the window during the TWW and I would hate for someone to read my recent google searches, haha

Sounding very positive mummy

TheGrumpySquirrel · 04/05/2017 21:59

Spoiler culprit was DH French aunt so don't think the "it's top secret don't put anything on Facebook because of my work" got through (but still - it's obvious I've not announced it on Fb so why would you do that - and she knows it's early days still!). However the comment was there only for an hour so I'm hoping no one saw it - my work colleagues are not very active on FB anyway - and no one else has said anything so 🤞🏼. The only people that had commented (and so would get notified of other comments) were MIL (who knows) and two of my friends who I think would be tactful enough to keep quiet if they saw it! One of them actually had dreadful infertility problems and finally had her son a year ago after IVF.

I'm going for dinner with the only other woman on my team now. Not sure whether to trust her with the news, I think I can but she'll guess if I'm not drinking for sure. Argh. I have an hour to decide.

DancingUnicorn · 04/05/2017 22:11

Ha, yes! Living up to my name indeed - I am by no means a dancer!

Oh JB you do all the blood testing? Shame, because I guess it'd be nice to have someone in the background for reassurance. But I'm sure things will go along nicely! :)

Mummy I really hope this is your month!

Wiggley All I can remember is strawberries tasting really metallic. It was my earliest symptom by far. I remember thinking 'This is weird, maybe I am pregnant'... but then didn't think we'd timed anything right so told myself I was being ridiculous!

Whatever you decide will be ok grumpy. If you don't drink and she guesses, hopefully she'll be tactful enough to leave it as your business. If you tell her, I'm sure she'll keep your secret for you. Women in male dominated business environments should be looking out for each other!! (FX!)

TheGrumpySquirrel · 04/05/2017 22:14

I've actually been complaining to her about our big boss grilling me about baby plans. (This was just before I fell pregnant). Today she joked to me, he didn't ask you again did he? I could do with her advice on whether to tell my line manager or not. I'm really stressed about the fact I've only got 6 months to train my junior when I was expecting to have a year (the hiring process took much longer than it should have). I'm worried that my bosses will be really annoyed about me going off while he still needs loads of supervision.

DancingUnicorn · 04/05/2017 22:43

I know it's hard grumpy, and I had serious issues about work and pregnancy, but even if they don't think it's an ideal work situation, they really shouldn't be angry with you. I know that not everything and every employer lives in the ideal world where they're not anti pregnancy... but it sounds like you're incredibly respected where you work and they'll want to do everything they can to make sure when you return to work it's with them! Sounds like this person might be able to provide some moral support through it all. Hope the evening goes ok either way!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/05/2017 01:26

She was great, I told her and she was very supportive and I feel I can trust her. She said to not tell anyone even my LM until I have to because then mgmt could decide that the new junior should report to someone else ahead of time. This way, I'm his boss until I go on leave, then it's gonna be hard to change his reporting line without it looking like discrimination against me especially as I'll only be off for 6 months. Feels a relief to have some advice from someone in my team who knows my exact role. She was encouraged to hear my plans to work 2 KIT days per month (important meeting days and catching up with my key relationships so they don't transfer those relationships to others in the team). She did warn me that my bonus the following year might disappoint (it is discretionary so very hard to prove discrimination) but long term the time off shouldn't affect my career. It's complicated but glad I have a plan!

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 05/05/2017 04:57

Ladies! update!

We have digital confirmation! Baby parsnips is on the way!

So so happy!

Woke DH up to our news!
