Morning ladies, sorry for not replying yesterday, had such a manic day. Cooked a bit of an Indian feast! Having a lazy day today... happy Monday!

Hi parsnips, sorry that work has kept you so busy and the atmosphere is crap. It's funny that woman is now leaving, I wonder if she will offer to take you with her.

From what my friend tells me, they are likely to get whatever they offer women. You have to have returned to work, but that could just be doing a handful of appointments a week. The biggest disadvantage is in the first 6 weeks, when an employee gets 90%. We will struggle, as I'm the bigger earner and will only be entitled to stat, unless it takes 6 months to get pg and my enhanced kicks in!

Still no bloody AF. Had something close to ewcm a couple of days ago. So no idea what to think. On a tww of my own, as if no AF by then need to get back in touch with the hospital. So hoping it doesn't come to that! Or if it does it's because of an accidental bfp! ;)

Scan tomorrow afternoon, then will tell the masses, might tell my dad tonight just to have one off the list, I'm actually nervous of telling my dad, I still feel like a teenager! It's awful! I know it'll be fine and I'm sure he'll be happy so dunno why I'm so nervous! Excited to tell everyone else! Been having some stretching pains and my stomach is so hit and miss, feeling sick on and off and heartburn seems to have found me but I have to say I've had several moments where I forget I'm pregnant so that definitely means my symptoms have improved!

I'll try to hold out until at least Saturday to test, although I'm doing a night shift on Friday so my FMU will be in the afternoon...

UTI seems better this morning, hoping it's settling. Too much BDing 😂😂

mrsC I know what you mean about telling parents about being pregnant. I was so scared to tell parents.. god knows why. Although I only met OH in the march and I was pregnant by October 🙈

mrs I know what you mean! Although only 11 weeks, we told my grandparents and uncles yesterday. Was really awkward as I also felt like a naughty kid! Haha

mummy I'll probably end up testing similar day to you. 5dpo here and nothing to report as yet.

DH and I had a good talk over the weekend about how the pressure of TTC is affecting our sex life. We've both been finding it hard so it was good to get it out in the open. That said I can't see any way to fix it really except by getting pregnant (and we're trying!). DH is finding the pressure to 'perform' really hard and I feel like we're having to do it when we aren't in the mood for it, and it sucks the fun out of everything and makes us both feel crappy. Argh - anyone else struggled with this? Actually relieved to be in the 2WW

JB that looks EXACTLY like my BFP at 10dpo which was a proper pink line by 12dpo! Congratulations!

orange that sounds really tough. Have you been doing it everyday during FW? That would deffo take it out of me! Good that you can talk about it and it's all in the open.

Oh parnsips that sounds so rubbish. I think as Hb said this thread is really enlightening on all the difficulties we face as women in the workplace and juggling that ambition with maternity pay and things. I suppose all you can do is think about making that decision when you are faced with it. Must be even harder when your current working environment is unpleasant and would be so nice to go elsewhere.

mummy so glad the UTI is settling and fingers crossed the cramping is early implantation. Looking forward to all the testers this week and next.

Orange DH and I were starting to both feel the same - although we never verbalised it I could tell that he felt the same as me. It was quite artificial for us as we aren’t more than once/twice a week kinds of people and then to be doing 4 times a week and then stopping abruptly seemed so forced. I suppose we didn’t get to the point where it became an issue as I got my BFP but think we would have ended up having the same conversation as you guys a month or so down the line. Honestly there isn’t really a proper solution except communicating about it and if either of you get to a point where you need a month off TTC (and just having sex as usual) to promise to tell each other. This may well be your month though!!

Feeling much better thank you, you lovely lot. I think it must have been something I ate as didn’t feel viral. I think my body is just super sensitive to any bacteria and wanted to expel it immediately. Horrendous but also relieved that wasn’t the onset of pregnancy related vomiting as couldn’t have kept that up for any more than a few days. Anyway just went to the coast to get some fresh air and now relaxing with DH and the cat. Have had lots more of those scratchy pains today, lots of stretching and pulling down there. Feels like something is happening which is nice. Roll on the scan next week.

Thanks for all the encouraging words ladies. Trying not to get too excited in case it's not real or doesn't stick. Going to wait a few days before retesting so it should be clearer if it is positive.

Fingers crossed you managed to seduce your DH seven and get it on with the magic lube.

orange I totally get where you are coming from. We were definitely guilty of just going through the motions when not really in the mood a couple of times. There is no easy answer, maybe switch to EOD instead of ED if that's what your are doing?

Evening all!!! This bank holiday flew!! I told my dad, he was delighted and very sweet, I knew I was nervous for no reason but couldn't rationalise it myself! I am 12 weeks since Saturday so tomorrow will be the 12 week scan and also do the hospital booking in tomorrow! Need to get organised but currently watching Netflix with a face mask on!
buzz just finished big little lies last week, it's a real slow burner with a big finale but the story line builds with each episode! I liked it overall but did feel like nothing happened in the first few episodes.
orange oh absolutely, it's a lot to sustain, and it becomes all about ttc vs enjoyment! It definitely takes its toll.
jupiter so glad you are feeling better and whatever it was was short lived because it sounds nasty!

Orange I completely get what you mean about DTD becoming a chore! We hardly ever have sex (no real reason, just both have low libido) so even trying to up to it a couple of times a week is hard for us! Which leads me to JB's question about the TWW... hardly noticed it! I don't think we dtd enough during FW to catch this cycle so I'm just waiting for AF really. Never mind, will try harder next month!

Well I didn't succeed this morning but this evening I did. It's normally DH who instigates dtd but today I have been really horny... Haha don't know what's wrong with me! I'm hoping that my body may just know it's fw time. The new lube was much better than the durex stuff we used to use which stinks imo!Hopefully it does the trick this month...
