So yet again, af has got me. Brown spotting this morning after a cycle where I was actually genuinely convinced I'd done it this time. Oh well.

Only on month 5 of actively trying. I'm ttc no2. I'm awaiting a referral for a hospital appointment to investigate scarring in my uterus so every month that goes by without a pregnancy, the more I can't deny that there's obviously something wrong (I've conceived twice, both just after a missed pill so 5 months is long in comparison!)

Just thought I'd say hi and hope THIS might be our month and we have a chance at a baby in 2018 instead :)

@ladydolly I use Period Tracker, it was really accurate when TTC last time. Cycle returned to 28 days last month, had coil removed in February and cycles were between 21-25 days. Hoping there's more chance of a bfp now!

@Maybebaby2 good luck with the tests, hope you get some good new

Aridia · 10/04/2017 21:31

Hi all! I'm new here so please bear with me! I'm 30, ttc #1, cycle day 10.

I came off microgynon last month, so this is very n3w to us, and the first time we've actively started trying! We'd always plann3d to start trying sometime this year, but it feels somewhat urgent since we found out it may not be that easy. I was diagnosed with endometriosis 4 years ago, but I was recently diagnosed with adenomyosis as well. So, with this in mind, we're setting off on what could be a very turbulent journey, but one that I truly hope is worth it!

Good luck to all!!

Wow a sudden burst of activity - hello to everyone that have recently joined.

bagel sorry to hear about your mum

I'm using Ovia app and will try the CBFM this month. Also trying conceive plus so Fx for a BFP in May. It is sad that it won't be a 2017 baby but hopefully lots of 2018 babies for us Smile

When is everyone testing?

juneybean · 10/04/2017 21:58

Welcome to all the new faces.

Sorry to hear about your mum bagel

Any one else tracking on fertility friend?

If I conceive on my next cycle I've got a chance of an anniversary baby which would be lovely.

ttcnovice · 10/04/2017 22:08

Cycle 4. I got pregnant in cycle 4 last year but had a MC in October, had a break until January. Didn't ttc last month as I was very unwell with bronchitis. I would have still gone for it but my husband wasn't too keen.

I'm trying a new tactic this month. Going to DTD everyday of fertile week. I've been DTD every other day on previous months but need to ramp it up a bit. Got my husband taking selenium and vitamin e as evidence shows it helps motility and quality of sperm.

boatrace30 · 10/04/2017 22:49

I use fertility friend.
maybe. Day 21 is based on an average cycle. So I actually had my test on day 35. They will adjust it around your cycle.
And no, positive opk doesn't confirm ovulation but temp charting is better to confirm you have

Binglesplodge · 10/04/2017 22:50

Joining! The decision is made: it's time for number two...

Age: 35. Gulp. I was only 32 the first time and that was tiring enough!
TTC: number 2
Cycle: one.

DS is 2 and a half and after a lot of agonising we have decided we can face doing it all again. First time round we conceived in the first cycle but this time I'm still breastfeeding so not sure how that will affect our chances. We'll see...

Cookie1831 · 10/04/2017 22:54

Whoops sorry bagel I must look so insensitive commenting on your name I must have somehow missed the bit about your mum x
Fasting bloods are only needed for cholesterol and glucose won't effect hormones but I guess there are screening for everything in one go thyroid hormones etc x

Cookie1831 · 10/04/2017 22:55

DTD everyday sounds like mission impossible hope you manage it!!

Morning everyone

How lovely that the thread is so active now Smile Hope to see lots of Bfps in May!
cookie your kids are couple years younger than mine but I know what you mean about wanting a bigger gap this time! Mine used to fight at those ages and it was tough but now at 4 and 6 they pretty much just get on with it and only have the odd sqabble! It will be lovely to have a baby at home with older ones in nursery/school won't it!
I'm cd4 today and af is packing her bags and tailing off, woo!
Just a few more weeks until most of us are in the lovely 2ww Shock X

Going into month 2
Cd3

Really thought I had cracked it last month but obviously the witch had other plans. I have a 34 day cycle and ovulate on cd21 so I think I'll start opks around day 15. I'm temping aswell and I always get really major painful ovulation pains so I'm always sure when ovulation has happened. DS took 2 months to conceive and I'm hoping it only takes that long this time.

Baby dust to all and I hope it's all our months this time around x

Cookie1831 · 11/04/2017 08:28

Am contemplating starting the temping thing is it a complete faff? My husband isn't too keen on all the tracking and stuff he thinks it is too much pressure but with such long cycles think it will be cheaper than the clear blue OPK sticks!

BagelDog · 11/04/2017 08:42

I have never managed the temping thing, between working nights, and getting up lots with small children I was never convinced I had a good baseline reading. The clear blue thing works ok for me, and Ovia just to have somewhere to record it. And Cookie no worries, I am not a sensitive flower! Just a bit hormonal at the moment...

ladydolly · 11/04/2017 08:43

I've gone with ovuview app which is what I used last time. I actually really enjoy the temping and tracking, its not a major faff (and the little bit of faff is all on you not dp!).

boatrace30 · 11/04/2017 08:55

cookie - it took a couple of months for me to get into it and now it's not a problem. You have to do it the minute you wake up before moving or anything. If I'm up within 3hours of getting up then I have to discard the reading, but generally I think mines fairly accurate.

It won't help you to catch ov though as your temp rises after you've ovulated. I've started using the cheap one step sticks from Amazon (work out about 20p each) as I have long cycles so got through about 20 last month.

I was pleased as a combination of temping, cm and opk seemed to confirm I ovulated (which is important to me as I have pcos). Blood test results today will confirm for sure though.

It's not for everyone though m, my DH thinks it's causing me stress. In actual fact I think it's the failure to conceive which is causing that!!! Regardless of any tracking

MrsHandles · 11/04/2017 09:30

Can I join please? Brown spotting the last few days so I think that's me going to be out of April soon

DH is in forces and returned from 6 months deployment just before Christmas. I stopped taking Yasmin Jan 16. Super irregular cycles: previously 27, 38 and 25 days; looking at another long cycle this time round I think. Sigh.

FX for lots of BFPs!

MrsHandles · 11/04/2017 09:32

Hi boatrace nice to see familiar names on my second bus (or train) but hoping we don't see each other much more

BlueeSpottyTiger · 11/04/2017 09:33

Hey ladies!

Here i am joining the may bus. Af hasn't started yet but after getting a bfn on a frer at 9dpo.. 4 days before af isn't a good sign! So im counting myself out and not testing anymore.

Cycle #3

This will be my last cycle ttc until i start again in sep after my holiday. I dont wanna be less that 20 weeks when i go away as i did need a mmr booster again and im not sure of rubella rates in spain.. or airports ect.

Going to have a go a temping and less dtd to every other day as this cycle we did it everyday or twice aday for my whole fertile window so we prob weakened the sperm... and eating the foods that are supposed to increase mobilty of sperm and stuff.. why the heck not!

13days until fertile window starts.

I fell pg with dd cycle 3 and if im successful the due date would be just less that 2 weeks before dd's second birthday.

Star Star Goodluck ladies Star Star

juneybean · 11/04/2017 11:24

I don't mind the temping so much but I start to question every drop and rise and try to work out what it means and that causes stress in itself. Plus if I wake up at 4am which I have lately I tend to take my temperature which means it'll be lower than if I did it at my normal waking time of 6am. So it makes the graph look a bit skewiff.

Maybebaby2 · 11/04/2017 11:44

Morning all!

Just had bloods taken and will get results back in a few days.

Considering trying temping but stupid question do I need a special thermometer or just a normal one??

Age gaps.. my ds will have another birthday before possible due date so there'll be a 16 year gap! I'd like two close together this time around or twins, twins would be great!!

juneybean · 11/04/2017 12:08

You'd need a BBT thermometer which measures to two decimal points.

I heard sweet potatoes in the lead up to ovulation helps with twins haha

lookatthemoon · 11/04/2017 12:16

Mind if I join?

Cycle 2 after early mc and chem

Due to ovulate on Sat/Sun but DH is away until Sunday. Am really stressed that I will get my smiley face too early on Fri or Sat and will be out before I even get to try this month. Last month's cycle was mysteriously shorter than usual. Am tempted to avoid OPKing altogether.

The internet tells me that Easter was originally a fertility festival (eggs n all that) so hopefully this will be a super fertile Easter for us all!!

Andysgirl15 · 11/04/2017 13:13

Juneybean I hope that's not true I love sweet potatoes and eat them a few times a week.

I find temping to be pretty easy. DS still wakes through the night so DP gets up with him so I can have an un interrupted sleep so I get accurate readings. I get my opks from amazon I pay 7.49 for 40 ovulation tests that come with 20 pregnancy tests aswell so a pretty good deal I think.
