So yet again, af has got me. Brown spotting this morning after a cycle where I was actually genuinely convinced I'd done it this time. Oh well.

Only on month 5 of actively trying. I'm ttc no2. I'm awaiting a referral for a hospital appointment to investigate scarring in my uterus so every month that goes by without a pregnancy, the more I can't deny that there's obviously something wrong (I've conceived twice, both just after a missed pill so 5 months is long in comparison!)

Just thought I'd say hi and hope THIS might be our month and we have a chance at a baby in 2018 instead :)

I'm cd 5 and will start using opk tomorrow because I've read you can ovulate early on a shorter cycle I vary between a 25/26/27 cycle. Used Opks for first time last cycle and got a positive on Cd11. So I would take that as a positive Sunshine.

Maybebaby2 · 13/04/2017 11:54

My af is only 3 days though so don't know if makes a difference if you still have af and use opk?

Sunshinesaz86 · 13/04/2017 12:00

Thanks blue and maybe my problem is DP will not DTD if AF is still about 😂! However we're off out tomoro night so might get him good and drunk and hope AF will be on her way out the building and at least try! Otherwise we'll miss it altogether! I'll keep doing OPK's until midway through just in case it's a fluke.

Wish my AF was only 3 days maybe 🙈 Then at least we could dtd lots as of now! 😩

BlueeSpottyTiger · 13/04/2017 12:10

I wish mine was too! You would think with a shorter cycle shorter af but mines 5days.. and i never have spotting before its literally like BAM here i am.. and my dp wouldn't be anywhere near me with af in sight lol xx

Maybebaby2 · 13/04/2017 12:26

Haha hope you manage to get dp tipsy enough tomorrow... that dosent work with my dh he's got no interest after having a few to drink he just wants to sleep!! 😂 An yeah I would carry on testing just incase you get another positive, that way you'll know if this one is a false surge.

Af used to be 9 or more days before I had coil out an I thought it meant something was wrong when it got so short! Was obvs just the coil making it last so long so now 3 days is making up for all those long ones!

Maybebaby2 · 13/04/2017 15:20

Scrap what I last said looks like my short period might be an issue, just called for results of blood test and they want to see me about menopause levels, whatever that means, I don't think it can't mean anything good.
Feeling absolutely crushed right now and next available appointment isn't till 8th may so I'm going to be left wondering for over 3 weeks.

offroadingtoy · 13/04/2017 15:38

Can i jump on i am currently day 3 of my period has miscarried at 10weeks at ened of febuary as had coil in so hopefully next month will be our month ttc no5

Sunshinesaz86 · 13/04/2017 15:50

Oh no, sorry to hear that maybe. I'll keep my fingers crossed it's not as bad as it sounds. If I were you I would phone and ask for the GP to call you to discuss rather than wait 3 weeks worrying x

Hi off sorry to hear about your MC I also had a MMC in Feb so know how crappy it is! Good luck to you x

peanutbutteroreo · 13/04/2017 15:59

Hi there, can I join?

TTC #2
Age 32
First month of trying and currently on first day of period

I'm trying to play it super cool and laid back like we're just going to 'see what happens' but OBVIOUSLY the minute we said that I am definitely not playing it cool and have started tracking ovulation, taking vitamins etc. Do you think anyone is ever just 'seeing what happens'?!

Maybebaby2 · 13/04/2017 16:08

Thanks sunshine I've called and I can have a telephone consultation 2nd may a week earlier but still a way off!
Hi off sorry to gear about your mc, good luck for this cycle
Hi peanut nope I don't think anyone plays it that cool, certainly not after the 1st month anyway!

Cookie1831 · 13/04/2017 17:31

sunshine stick a tampon in until just before and tell him it is over anyway and if there is any flow just say "oh no you started me off again!"
maybe hope everything is ok, maybe if you ring and explain you are really worried and could they ask the GP if there is any way you could have a call sooner?

Cookie1831 · 13/04/2017 17:31

peanut welcome, nobody plays it cool here x

ladydolly · 13/04/2017 17:58

So I had my mirena out on Monday, I didn't have anyAF in the 2 years I had it in (or the 13 years prior to DD1) and today, AF in full force and oh the cramping. Seems mad that can have happened in just 4 days? But at least I guess I know where I'm starting from now. CD1!

Maybebaby2 · 13/04/2017 18:20

Thanks Cookie they said that's the earliest available atm but I can call back every day to see if one comes available. These are the pre bookable appointments so I'm almost tempted to call for one of the emergency appointments you have to call 8am on the day for those. I could say it was something else and then ask about blood results when I'm there!

I didn't have the hormone coil so AF was still regular and very long, thought I'd just regulated to a short cycle when it came out in October. At least you know where you are Lady after such a long gap, wishing you lots of luck Smile

juneybean · 13/04/2017 18:31

Welcome to the new folk! :)

lookatthemoon · 13/04/2017 18:59

Help please!

DH doesn't get home until Sunday. Tonight I did two OPKs, a normal CB digital (pink) that only gives a smiley face when LH surge is detected and the advanced one that gives flashing smiley on days of high fertility (estrogen) and then a static smiley when the LH surge is detected. Tonight the normal OPK was negative (No LH surge) but I got a flashing smiley on the advanced one.

How many flashing smiley faces do you usually get before LH surge? Am wondering if I am still in with a chance to conceive if we can only dtd Sunday morning. Give me hope?

boatrace30 · 13/04/2017 19:03

Sorry to hear that maybe - not good enough that the doctor can't see you sooner when they've half told you. I would keep phoning.

Sunshinesaz86 · 13/04/2017 19:45

cookie that's ruthless! 😂😂 I like it! Means business!

Hi peanut hi dolly glad AF has shown up sooner rather than later for you.

Yes definitely worth a try getting seen sooner and getting an emergency app maybe the amount of ppl in the surgery I work in who use emergency appointments for not urgent things is crazy and your reason is genuine especially when it causes worry!

I don't do those look but I'm sure you can have a good few days of flashing before static smiley so fingers crossed it's not before sun! X x

Maybebaby2 · 13/04/2017 19:54

I'll keep calling to see if an earlier appointment can be made but it will be after the long easter weekend now. Boatrace do you have an appointment date for the fertility clinic yet?
Sorry Lookat I've never used cb digital so can't help you with that one either.

lookatthemoon · 13/04/2017 20:08

Sorry to hear that Maybe - def keep calling everyday. Realistically at least one appointment/cancellation will come up in the next 3 weeks. That is waay too long to make someone wait.

Cookie1831 · 13/04/2017 21:15

I am probably not one to ask but I had 22 flashing smileys last month I think most people get 3 or 4 Hmm

Cookie1831 · 13/04/2017 21:16

I agree with sunshine lots of people use urgent appointments for non urgent things so j would ring every day x

Cookie1831 · 13/04/2017 21:17

I and was directing comment at maybe

Maybebaby2 · 13/04/2017 21:43

Dr's won't be open till next Tuesday so will have to wait till then.

Next week is my 'predicted' FW and I'm not sure if we should even bother trying now!

I just wish she hadn't said the 'm' word, I never expected to hear that and it's sent me into panic mode. She could have just said that I needed to come in to review the results.
Luckily I've a busy weekend so will help to keep my mind off it.

boatrace30 · 13/04/2017 22:09

We'll definitely no harm in keeping trying maybe. An awful word to use without properly explaining it.
No appointment for me yet, not expecting it anytime soon. The hospital website says average time is 2months
