Huge congratulations satsooma! Your situation is very similar to mine In terms of age, time ttc, time since dx with PCOS etc, so not only am i so very happy for you it has given me real hope. I took my clomid 110% willingly last night and also told my DH your amazing news. Good for you - lucky no 5!

I have to ask but you don't have to tell-how did you share the news with your DH? You said you'd been thinking about it a while, I hope it was as magical as you wanted it to be xxx

Barsons83 · 01/04/2017 22:44

Congratulations Satsooma that's brilliant news. It's so good to hear positive stories especially for those who have taken clomid longer than 3 months

I hope this is the first of many bfp!

Barsons83 · 02/04/2017 09:51

Am very confused. Scans said that this clomid cycle was anovaluation and it was a cyst but my period still came on CD 31 and is as heavy as normal. Have a private scan tomorrow just to check the cyst has gone before I start taking clomid again

ElizabethCatherine · 02/04/2017 16:23

@NeverGoOutOfStyle thank you x I get so lost on this thread sometimes are you still waiting for your first appointment with the fertility clinic as well? Did they tell you to come back after a year of TTC even though you have PCOS?

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/04/2017 20:27

So not only does my DHs cousin announce over Facebook that she's expecting when I started miscarrying last year, it now turns out she's calling her baby my baby name if I had a daughter. I know it's stupid but I'm pissed off, cross and jealous. Ugh. I was all positive today and now I'm just annoyed. Bah. Angry

FluffyEwok · 02/04/2017 21:00

Angry boggle that's shit
My symptoms have disappeared im worried Sad

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/04/2017 21:03

Lots of women have no symptoms Fluffy, doesn't mean anything is bad. I'm sure little baby fluffy is all comfy and cosy Smile how many weeks are you now?

FluffyEwok · 02/04/2017 21:05

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/04/2017 21:15

Don't think the worst, all is well Fluffy Smile can you talk with you DH? He can reassure you?

FluffyEwok · 02/04/2017 21:20

he just says not to worry Hmm easier said than done

YouBoggleMyMind · 02/04/2017 21:22

Very true. Just wait, you'll prolly be all sicky and yucky tomorrow! Grin

AmyC86 · 02/04/2017 22:09

NeverGoOutOfStyle · 03/04/2017 01:56

@ElizabethCatherine I'm on my 9th month of TTC, I was diagnosed with PCOS long long before we were TTC and started to TTC after I got pregnant on the mini-pill, and then miscarried. We decided after that to TTC, but it doesn't seem like I've actually ovulated since then, not one positive OPK or temp spike, so I am pretty confused. I've seen an endocrinologist who wants to start me on Metfomin and he said that alone might help, and my GP is happy to refer me on in mid june if we haven't managed by then. So waiting until we reach that year mark for any other help. It feels pretty crappy, because they already know that something isn't quite right with me! Are you already referred and waiting for your first appointment?

YouBoggleMyMind · 03/04/2017 08:24

Think the most annoying thing is she doesn't know that that was my chosen name too. They're not local to us and her baby wasn't planned. Just have to go back to the drawing board or just call my kid the same name anyway but I think that would get me some funny looks!

YouBoggleMyMind · 03/04/2017 08:45

2 weeks to test day!

Barsons83 · 03/04/2017 09:04

Just been to private scanners and cyst has gone so can start 5th round clomid tonight. Am debating getting the trigger shot privately this cycle but just trying to work out if it will affect our 1 free nhs ivf round

YouBoggleMyMind · 03/04/2017 09:08

Glad your cyst has gone Barron's, fingers crossed for this round for you!

YouBoggleMyMind · 03/04/2017 09:10

Barsons!!!

ElizabethCatherine · 03/04/2017 09:22

@NeverGoOutOfStyle we seem at the exact same spot! On month 9 now it TTC. My doctor referred me to a gynaecologist instead of an endocrinologist. Gyn told me she couldn't do anything for me so maybe I need to see an endocrinologist?.. she just told me to go see a fertility clinic and to get my doc to refer me there. Seeing my doctor on Wednesday to ask to be referred on but I thought fertility clinics only consider you after a year of trying.. but that doesn't make sense that should make sense for someone without PCOS but when we have that we clearly need help/assistance with TTC

Barsons83 · 03/04/2017 09:23

Lol Boggle. That is a funny and very apt autocorrect!!! I do feel very barren! Have decided to do the trigger privately this month as want to throw everything at it. Looked at guidelines and says only not eligible for funding if you have done ivf/icsi

ronniemipperton · 03/04/2017 09:26

Hi all

Am brand new to Mumsnet, hi! Came off the pill in September 2015 and I've had three periods since then. I have BUPA through work so went to a private gynaecologist in May last year, they said no sign of pcos so just wait it out. Went to my GP in December 2016 who referred me to an NHS gynaecologist - had the scan on Saturday and was told in no uncertain terms I DEFINITELY have polycystic ovaries.

I've got a doctor's appointment later this morning so am frantically trying to work out what questions I should be asking/whether I should be pushing for Clomid. I've only recently started TTC but only because it feels so futile when you haven't had a period for months. I'm coming up to 32 so feel like I should've started much sooner :(

Anyway, looking forward to getting to know everyone and figuring out what all these acronyms mean.

YouBoggleMyMind · 03/04/2017 10:09

Hi Ronnie, welcome!

Your GP won't prescribe you clomid but you should push for a full blood work up to see where the issue lies and then be referred through to the fertility clinic who can then offer it to you.

If you don't mind me asking, what's your bmi? As this will have a bearing on what they can offer you. You maybe able to get metformin from your GP which can help.

YouBoggleMyMind · 03/04/2017 10:09

Sorry Barsons. Blush

ronniemipperton · 03/04/2017 10:15

Thanks YouBoggleMyMind. That's good to know re Clomid. I have had probably 20 or so blood tests over the last 18 months and every time things have been broadly normal (though I expect they will send me for more - doesn't help that I see a different person every time and they always want a new set of tests...). My BMI's about 24.5 so a bit higher than I'd like but not drastic. I'll ask about Metformin, thanks :)

SummerHopin · 03/04/2017 10:17

Good news about the cyst Barsons

ElizabethC I thought the same about the 'year' mark before referrals, again I think its a postcode lottery. My GP said that even with PCOS you dont get referred before a year, but you can be doing all the tick box tests you need for a referral to be all ready.

Our referral came through and we had our first appointment on the 12th month after formally starting ttc, but I think a lot of the reason for the quick progression was that we had certain of those tick box tests privately.
