@SLady Thanks for replying. Can the GP not prescribe it then? Mine spoke like it was something she could help with. I already have had blood tests and 2 scans. What else do they test for before its prescribed?
Now i know something is actually wrong all this waiting is killing me! DS is 5 this year and i never thought it would take me this long to fall pregnant 2nd time around. x

SLady · 22/05/2017 20:34

No the GP cannot prescribe Clomid. The tests I had were: General blood test (full blood count and rubella), CD 21 blood test, CD2-5 blood test, ultrasound, chlamydia test, husband had a sperm analysis. And I think that was it. Then I was referred to the fertility clinic where I was given clomid. Hope that helps

Infertility123 · 22/05/2017 20:43

So today I had my final appointment with the NHS as there is nothing more they can do for us as my Husband has a child already. They won't do anything more for my PCOS as my Husband had a VR and now has low sperm motility so we need ICSI IVF. I feel so scared and alone as the world of IVF, different clinics to choose from is a minefield. I have no idea what the process involves or where to look for help and advice. Feeling very down, emotional and overwhelmed today. If anyone has any advice to offer it would be very much appreciated

Barsons83 · 22/05/2017 20:53

Hey ladies,
So got our letter today confirming funding for ivf for one cycle. Got our info evening end of June

YouBoggleMyMind · 22/05/2017 21:17

Infertility, so sorry to hear your news. A hard thing to deal with I'm sure. I would start by looking at local clinics in your area, they'll have open evenings for you to go to and ask all the questions you need to. Then if you're prepared to, you could look a little bit further afield if you're willing to travel. Look at success stats and how much you'll get for your money. Patient reviews are also great but I suspect if you're private, you'll be treated well anyway. Xx

YouBoggleMyMind · 22/05/2017 21:18

Hi Barsons, glad to hear you've had funding through, hope the info evening proves useful for you both on your journey xx

Infertility123 · 22/05/2017 21:44

Thanks Boggle We are looking at the Czech Republic at the moment as the cost and success rates seem more attainable with our budget. Thanks for the tip on open evenings, it may be worth going just to get some info x

HollyWollyDooDah · 22/05/2017 22:32

Sorry Tom hear your news infertility :(
How did you start to research the Czech Republic option? What do you look for? Xx

HollyWollyDooDah · 22/05/2017 22:33

*to not Tom
Sorry having a fat finger issue

Infertility123 · 23/05/2017 00:00

Hi Holly

I went for a counselling session last week and the counsellor mentioned a couple she previous had a session with used a company in the Czech Republic. It was raised as I mentioned one of my biggest worries and causes of stress is the cost of IVF. The couple now run a company in the UK coordinating treatment in the Czech Republic. The company is called Your IVF Journey based in Nottingham and they use a clinic in the Czech Republic called Repofit International. Hope this helps. I have set up an instagram page ourivfjourney_2017 if you want to track how my journey works out

Infertility123 · 23/05/2017 00:02

Holly this is the coordination company website. www.yourivfjourney.com/

I have just got all of the medical questionnaires to complete

ElizabethCatherine · 23/05/2017 09:18

@Infertility123 I'm pretty sure IVF is what I am going to have to go for as well :( I'm a little nervous thinking about it and just going straight into it without even trying the fertility medication. I've had 2 appointments now privately just went yesterday for another internal scan and AMH bloods.. I was expecting the doctor to ring me later that day with an estimate and what my options are. He was thinking IVF was going to be the only option that would be good for me but was going to see it IUI would be worth a shot. I get a call then from the receptionist saying my scans are inconclusive and I need to go for a chat with the doctor. And the soonest they can get me in is june 20th!! For a follow up chat! That's mental I'm going privately and now I'm left back in the dust again wondering what's going on and assuming the worst obviously :( 2 steps forward and 3 leaps back. Was having hope and now I just cried myself to sleep again wondering what's going on. Everyone at the clinic kept asking me what day I was on in my cycle and getting so confused when I said I haven't had a period since August 2016.. it seems like my case is more complicated then I thought :(

SLady · 23/05/2017 11:48

Hi everyone. Good news barsons glad to hear your funding is sorted. How are you feeling about it all? Positive I hope.
Really sorry you're going through such a bad time infertility and elizabeth.
infertility sounds like you have got a plan and are being really proactive and making positive steps to get the process moving. Good for you!
That's such a long time to wait elizabeth. The worst thing is not having answers and having no clear plan cos you feel like you are in the dark and the mind does overtime worrying. Is there anyway you can be seen quicker than that, are you able to afford another probate consultation? Just so you can get some answers?

I'm 4 days post Norethisterone and still no AF, not a single sign of it either! Starting to think it didn't work for me. Has anyone else had this? So frustrating. My skin has also flared up again since coming off the pills just to make things worse!

YouBoggleMyMind · 23/05/2017 12:43

SLady, when I was on provera, it took almost 2 weeks for AF to show. Dr told me 3 days... hold on for a little longer.

SLady · 23/05/2017 13:06

Arghh 2 weeks!! So frustrating... I was hoping to have started Clomid by now! I was told 2-3 days too. Thanks boggle I'll keep holding out

YouBoggleMyMind · 23/05/2017 13:19

It's so funny, the very first pcos thread was about provera and how long it takes to work Smile

SLady · 23/05/2017 14:00

Ahhh how funny and where it all started... just had a little read through the thread. And it's made me feel a little better about AF not showing yet. Hopefully it'll be here by the end of the week.... fingers crossed! Just feeling frustrated and impatient right now. Want my body to play ball!!

SummerHopin · 23/05/2017 14:58

Hi SLady - it took me 7 days to get AF after provera, just sit tight.

I had my early scan today. All was well, and we saw a little flickering heartbeat! It was magical and I will admit there were tears.

EDD is currently 9th January, but I've been back dated to 7 weeks not 8 like I thought (I'm 8 weeks from start of last AF which is usual dating way but I basically ovulated a week late so have gone back a week).

So to any of the newbies thinking about clomid, this was my first cycle at 50mg. I am very lucky that it worked so quickly, but it shows that it can.

FX it will be all of you lot soon! :)

ElizabethCatherine · 23/05/2017 15:16

@SLady I've just emailed being like, that's not good enough. Let's see what they say ha. I was like I was to be called with results and what's going on and now you need to see me in person and wait a month? I told them my depression and anxiety is through the roof already. Fingers crossed they can tell me SOMETHING or bring my appointment sooner..

SLady · 23/05/2017 15:18

Thanks summer makes me feel better, I was expecting 2-3 days before so had it in my head it hadn't worked. Will sit tight and be patient.

That's lovely news, so very pleased for you. Must have been so amazing seeing your little bean, so happy all is well and progressing nicely.

I really hope it happens for me soon Sad (and the rest of us of course)

ElizabethCatherine · 23/05/2017 15:18

@SummerHopin that sounds so nice. Aww I'll be bawling when I finally see a little heart beat flicker on the screen. So lovely. So amazing that clomid worked so quickly for you

SLady · 23/05/2017 15:19

Good for you elizabeth!!! Keep us updated!

Elly1685 · 23/05/2017 17:38

Hope af arrives for you soon SLady ...

So I had my CD10 scan today (even though it was cd9...) the sonographer said she saw 13 follicles on either side... then nurse came to speak to me and said there was nothing there so clomid isn't working. They are re scanning on Saturday but I go on holiday Sunday so she said if there's nothing on Saturday they'll have to keep me on 50mg next month too as they can't monitor it... I just feel like it's a waste of a month? Any advice? Can someone tell me about their cd10 scans and their thoughts xxx

holzyb20 · 23/05/2017 17:44

Hi ladies can anyone help me trying to not get ahead of myself after trying for over 3 years I think I might have a bfp 11dpo on my first round of 50mg clomid this came up within a few seconds....

Holzy, I think I can see something very faint. Would suggest a first response test as pink lines tend to be clearer. Was this with first morning wee?
