Good luck satsooma! How many dpo are you? How exciting!

satsoooma · 31/03/2017 09:05

OMG, I'm testing on April fool's day. o_O

That seems like bad luck. Like the universe will say - here is a BFP - NOT! Haha, April Fools! Can't believe you fell for that one.

Thanks Boggle CD30 and 14 dpo today!

Is the reason you're not testing today due to your DH being away? I'm just hanging about waiting now. 17 days to go... got progesterone test next Wednesday.

satsoooma · 31/03/2017 09:15

I just have loads of work, an ill relative to visit and a party I sort of have to go to tonight. I wouldn't have any time to process good or bad news today. DH was away yesterday, so I didn't want to test then either.

I know it is not really important, but I have imagined being able to tell DH that we are having a baby for so long - I just want it to be perfect.

OP posts:
YouBoggleMyMind · 31/03/2017 09:16

That makes sense and partly why I'm waiting til after Easter. I could test before. DH has my tests so I can't even try to test until then 😂

satsoooma · 31/03/2017 09:19

Haha! I left the house an hour early this morning - so as not to be in the same building as my stash of tests 😂

Good luck tomorrow Satsooma! Will be thinking of you!

Boggle the scans don't affect outcomes at all with any potential issues aside from making parents mentally prepared for any outcome etc. We had a long chat and decided that even if we were told of problems at 20 weeks we wouldn't terminate (sadly we have friends who've been through that, both who have terminated at that point and who didn't - in the latter case it turned out the docs had it wrong and their little girl is fine). Plus reseach at Yale has shown the kinds of ultrasound we do nowadays does affect brain development which sometimes has no obvious symptoms and sometimes leads to autism, adhd, delayed speech development etc. So we decided that even if the risks are small, the fact that we wouldn't act on information gained from the scan and would rather not know anyway due to prognosis not being affected by knowing, that it just wasn't for us. But I totally get that that isn't the way to go for a lot of people and they may find not knowing more stressful instead of less!! But it was right for us.

Baby dust to all ❤

So we decided that even if the risks were small, that combined with the fact that we wouldn't act on information gained from the scan and would rather not know anyway due to prognosis not being affected that it just wasn't the right thing for us. But I totally get that that isn't a common descision and that a lot of people would be more instead of less stressed by not knowing!! But for us this was definitely the right descision and we haven't wavered in it even slightly since we decided near the start.

Lots of love and baby dust to all!! ❤Star

Oops, thought my post had deleted part way through and disappeared!! Didn't need to re-do the end afterall! Sorry!

YouBoggleMyMind · 31/03/2017 10:03

Fair enough Dani, you've got to do what's right for you. Can't say I'd do the same but I respect your choice Smile

danigrace · 31/03/2017 10:16

Thanks Boggle xx

YouBoggleMyMind · 31/03/2017 10:17

When is your due date Dani? Have you had a good pregnancy so far?

danigrace · 31/03/2017 10:30

25/26 July, eek! Yes loving pregnancy thank you Smile was incredibly exhausted for the first tri and was being sick all the way up to 18 weeks and not just in the mornings, but I was so happy to be pregnant that I just couldn't care less! Since 12 weeks I've been going to 3 pg classes a week (yoga, aquanatal, & pilates) and have been keeping a weekly record in a 'bump to birthday' book. Just feel that now I'm here I'm determined to not be phased by and smile through the shit and squeeze every bit of fun and goodness I can out of it! You'll be joining me sooner rather than later I hope! Xx

SummerHopin · 31/03/2017 10:35

Hi Amy, I've heard the 35% stat and it does make you realise how amazingly lucky it is for people to get pregnant first time round! Apparently its 15% each time with Clomid.

Nice to hear from you Dani - glad all is well. I am really impressed with your ability to do such a strict regime for so long :) I'm a bit like Fluffy in that my moderation diet plus metformin has helped me lose weight and now I'm concentrating on keeping healthy but I'm not going to go too far with it all just yet.

This might sound weird but I've now had 3 of the 5 clomid tablets - and I dont feel ANY different. Lots of stories involve people on Clomid having loads of side effects, did anyone else have none? Or do they come after the end of the 5 days? Am trying so hard to stay positive but keep thinking that 50mg might not be having any effect and so the scan next week will show nothing has happened. Knowing all you lovely ladies and the number of months you've all been on clomid the law of averages says I'm going to be on this for a while.

Any advice?

YouBoggleMyMind · 31/03/2017 10:35

Sorry you were so sick to start with but it sounds like you're glowing now!

Glad we DTD the deed last night as I now have a tugging feeling on my right side... thought I'd already ovulated but perhaps not! Does mean my progesterone blood test may not be all that accurate next Wednesday.

SummerHopin · 31/03/2017 10:36

p.s. Boggle and Satsooma I am so excited for you this month! The anticipation is infectious :)

satsoooma · 31/03/2017 10:47

Thanks everyone!

Summer I get almost no side effects from clomid. The first month, I did wake up absolutely drenched in sweat. Now I don't notice anything at all. My PJs are still a bit stinky in the morning though, so I think I maybe I have just learned to sleep through it (ewwww). No side effects at all could mean that you need a higher dose, or just that you are lucky. Its not what you want to hear, but I don't think there is any way to tell without a scan I am afraid. Best of luck for your appointment next week.

Boggle - sounds like you might be ovulating now to me. I think that they realise it is hard to get the exact right day for ovulation, so they will accept a pretty wide range of progesterone results as positive. The test might be lower than it would have been if you had tested a few days earlier, but as long as you are out by days, not weeks, it should not matter.

OP posts:
YouBoggleMyMind · 31/03/2017 11:01

Well either way there's plenty of sperm hanging about waiting to take my egg on a date 😂

If I'm ovulating now, it'll only be 5 days after, not 7. Hopefully that doesn't matter. They don't call me to tell me about the progesterone results, I have to call them so I'm not going to pay too much attention.

YouBoggleMyMind · 31/03/2017 11:05

"Many women know they are ovulating by vaginal mucus discharge, nipple tenderness, or the tell-tale twinge in their abdomen called mittelschmerz."

I've had all these things but in different days... Hmm

AmyC86 · 31/03/2017 11:18

summer ithe really is amazing how anyone gets pregnant with thone crap statistics!!!

Lovely to hear from you Dani & Fluffy glad that you're having a good pregnancy so far xx

boggle your pains sound like good news. Have you an appointment for your blood test or can you go to a walk in?!?! Xx

YouBoggleMyMind · 31/03/2017 11:25

It's a walk in at the hospital, but my scan nurse said to go on the Wednesday. She said it's better to go later than earlier. Not sure whether I should amend it myself and go on say Thursday or Friday next week instead.

AmyC86 · 31/03/2017 11:27

I always amend mine to fit with when I think that I ovulated.

Last time I went a day early because of my holiday & it came up as 27.5.

YouBoggleMyMind · 31/03/2017 12:14

Maybe I'll go Thursday morning. I'll either be 6pdo or 8dpo so middle ground?? Argh I feel stressed now!

AmyC86 · 31/03/2017 17:09

Don't get stressed!! This is our month boggle xxx
