*weight not wait!!

AmyC86 · 07/05/2017 21:41

I'd love a BMI of 31!!!! My BMI is currently in the realms of 37 🙈. I have lost weight in the past (doing slimming world) but as soon as I take the foot off the gas I literally pile on the weight. Now that SW isn't red day green day anymore I found it increasingly difficult to loose weight. Decided on a low carb & dairy free. I did this around 12 months ago & lost 8lb in 4 weeks and felt amazing. Just hoping to keep it up now because I want this so much!!!

Iamchanging · 08/05/2017 05:55

8 lbs in a week is amazing! Do you find that when off the pill your PCOS symptoms explode? I'm so spotty and I sear all I have to do is look at a chocolate bar to gain weight these days!
FWIW I tried acupuncture a bit ago for 5 months for PCOS - did absolutely nothing for me. But then I hate needles so maybe I wasn't in the correct frame of mind to relax!!!!

Elly1685 · 08/05/2017 06:36

8lb is really good Amy. I need to lose weight too, and always find that once you get started and start seeing that weight coming off it's easier to stick to - it's the getting started that's the hard part!!

I hope everyone enjoyed a beautifully sunny weekend?

I'm on day 6 notheristerone and oh my word the cramping is driving me mad. I've had it since day 3 and need to take notheristerone for another 4 day! I'm pretty sure this stuff is turning me into a right monster. My poor DH doesn't know whether he's coming or going with my mood swings so I'm just trying to keep out of his way Halo

Iamchanging · 08/05/2017 08:28

I got horrific cramps as well I'm it Elly. Plus the first time I then got the period from hell which lasted about two weeks! Hope yours is a bit better!

AmyC86 · 08/05/2017 08:45

elly noratheistrone had worse side effects than clomid for me. I was an emotional wreak & a nasty pasty ontop.

changing I used to take cerazette (degesterol) years ago. This was when I last lost weight with slimming world & the weight literally fell off me, only took me 10 months to loose 4 stone. I didn't even realise that I had pcos when I was on the pill. I stopped taking it because I wasn't no longer in a relationship & felt that it was doing negative things to my body. Little did I know that it was acctually the healthiest id ever been!!!

AmyC86 · 08/05/2017 08:47

I've even considered asking to go back on it to help support weight loss. But I don't want to have to wait for my periods to return following stopping taking it, FYSWIM

Iamchanging · 08/05/2017 08:48

Yep I'm the same. Most women say they hate being on the pill, even though I can't get pregnant naturally I still intend to go straight back on it as soon as I can after baby

SLady · 08/05/2017 09:25

Oh jeez! I was just going to start taking notheristerone today.... this is not what I needed to see!! Maybe I will wait for my period to come naturally after all haha. I've only been prescribed it for 7 days elly then told my period will come within 5 days after? And then I start taking Clomid day 2. I am the same, I miss my pill so much, I actually lost weight when i came off the pill but my spotty skin and excess hair is out of control!!!!!

SLady · 08/05/2017 10:51

Arghhhhhhhhh don't know whether to take norethisterone now or wait for my period naturally Confused Confused Confused

Iamchanging · 08/05/2017 10:54

Slady- if it helps I didn't get any side effects other then cramps. And I think it was only a massive period as it was the first one I had had for over 6 months

SLady · 08/05/2017 11:37

I usually get pretty bad cramping anyway. I just think I can't have a two week period as I'll be taking Clomid CD2 and then meant to be ovulating the week after...not still bleeding! I don't want taking norethisterone to interfere with my Clomid chances Confused

Iamchanging · 08/05/2017 11:40

Mine finished just before my CD 12 scan. And a heavy period isn't a bad thing as it clears out your lining and helps it grow back better - making implantation more likely.

SLady · 08/05/2017 11:59

Thanks changing I'm really in two minds now

Iamchanging · 08/05/2017 12:02

You could wait to see if a natural AF arrives and if not then take it?

Elly1685 · 08/05/2017 12:14

SLady - the cramps are not unbearable... just annoying and make you feel a bit meh but it's a means to an end so I'm putting up. Plus I'm just going out in the garden or going to read my book if I feel poor DH will get it in the neck!

Please don't not take notheristerone based on my moans - plus if it's only for 7 days I'm sure you'll be fine - no idea why mine is for 10 days though?! Smile

Xx

Sunny1984 · 08/05/2017 12:25

Hey ladies,

I'm currently away and have had phone issues!!
I was given provera and didn't have any side effects from it so I just think everyone is completely different. If I were you I'd just take it!
Having a bit of a nightmare was scanned on Friday which was CD15 and was told the biggest follicle I had was 13mm so was a failed cycle. Based on that I've come away without DH and thought I'd carry on doing LH testing and I got a surge yesterday.so confused now! Can you get a positive and not ovulate?!!

The clinic want to do the next cycle at 100mg but. It sure as I had the most vile migraine on 50mg, sounds stupid but does double the dose mean double the side effects?!!

Was thinking about trying acupuncture or reflexology but not sure if they would help! Amy have you looked at prices for acupuncture yet?

SLady · 08/05/2017 12:50

changing I'm on CD51, natural cycle could be a while yet (last one was 70-odd days). I'd hope to have a natural one this month though.

Eeks, I'm just worried about the prolonged heavy bleed afterwards elly I've been prescribed 2 tablets 3 times a day for 7 days.

Iamchanging · 08/05/2017 13:22

Honestly in that case I would just take it then as otherwise you are just delaying Clomid. The second and third time I had it I had a normal period, it was just the first one that was so long as I had 6 months worth!!

SummerHopin · 08/05/2017 13:30

Hi ladies.

SLady I took provera after not bleeding for weeks and worried I'd have a tidal bleed but it was normal. I also had no side effects.

I would just take it. You won't know unless you take it and it means you can get on with clomid.

Good luck xx

SLady · 08/05/2017 13:36

Thanks changing summer, perhaps I will chat to DH tonight and start tomorrow. I am keen to start Clomid now I have it in my hands!! But also don't want to make things bad for myself by being impatient. Does anyone know why some people are prescribed norethisterone and some provera? Provera seems like the one with less symptoms!

Sunny1984 · 08/05/2017 14:05

Slady i thinks just different Drs drug preference. If you have bad side effects from it and you needed to induce AF again you could ask for provera instead. The bleed I had induced by the provera wasn't anything as bad as I expected having not had a bleed for months and months!

Had anyone taken 100mg Clomid?

Iamchanging · 08/05/2017 14:10

Hi Sunny, yes I have. And I'm now on 150mg. No changes in side effects for me. I get a bad headache for a couple of days but that's it. I suppose a bit grumpy too, but that might not have been the Clomid!

YouBoggleMyMind · 08/05/2017 14:17

Also, your lining doesn't build up and build up so there's a huge amount. It doesn't work like that. Hormone imbalance will mean that your lining won't thicken cost the hormones that do that aren't correct and it just remains quite thin so I don't think it should be really bad? I took provera after not having AF for 14 months and it was just a normal period. Good luck!

Sunny1984 · 08/05/2017 14:27

Thank you changing! Did you not ovulate on 50mg or 100mg? My Dr has said he wouldn't go above 100mg but don't know why! I thought it might not make much difference to the side effects but good to hear from actual experience of it!! Haha I know the feeling I'm such a grump a lot of the time at the minute!!
