Thread 6 already. We are a bunch of ladies who are either

  • humping (TTC)
  • by humping yet (waiting to TTC)
  • humped (preggers)

And everything in between!

We've had 7 BFPs in three months and we love a bit of lucky lube and a squinter on 9DPO - come and join the madness!

Thanks mummy it's good to know the wine I had in the TWW (well 10 day wait) was not a concern! Although I'll be extra careful now, I had no idea it was most relevant/risky in weeks 4 to 12.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/04/2017 18:32

Jupiter thanks is that an anti anxiety or anti sickness thing?

DancingUnicorn · 05/04/2017 18:41

Mummy you're a star! Hope you're feeling ok this cycle.

Grumpy I really hope you get the news you want!!

I have a long history with grief. My first husband died when I was young (no sympathy required, it was a long time ago) so I know it's completely normal to feel ok one minute and then be a wreck the next. (I know the circumstances are very different!)

Jupiter definitely eat all the carbs. Whatever helps is good. And it's never complaining!! This is what we're here for. It definitely sucks!

My dentist is nagging me to go for a checkup. Annoyed that I'm going to have to pay even though I can afford it and it shouldn't be more than a checkup.

HeyJupiter · 05/04/2017 18:52

grumpy it's a sedating drug (technically an anti-histamine) which we use for anxiety.

Dancing I'm sorry that grief is so familiar to you (and hope my last post came across okay and not patronising when you know these feelings so well) You are so brave and brilliant xx

DancingUnicorn · 05/04/2017 18:57

Oh, not patronising at all Jupiter! It's always good to be reminded that these things take time and are not linear!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/04/2017 19:04

Yay guys I got my drugs!!! He said try not to take them unless I reeeeeally need to but that so many people take diazepam regularly that it's considered safe for occasional use in pregnancy. Phew! I'll feel better having them on me anyway, even if I don't take any.

DancingUnicorn · 05/04/2017 19:05

Woohoo!! That's great news grumpy!! :)

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/04/2017 19:09

Oh and he also properly booked in my pregnancy and did the exemption forms etc. Weirdly he insisted I'll be 12 weeks on 23 May based on a LMP of 5 march.. I've counted again and it's def 28 May! Am I crazy? EDD is 10 December.

He also said my preterm birth with DD (35+5) was probably a case of wrong dates given her weight, rather than actual pre term, so I should push the maternity unit hard to get midwife led care as he doesn't think it's a high risk pregnancy. I feel confident about a home birth as my labour was straightforward last time (and I hate hospitals, I think they make me more anxious).

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/04/2017 19:21

Feel so much better about going to LA now. Although I'm not going to be able to pick up the prescription before I fly to holland tomorrow but I feel ok about that as it's only a 1h20 flight and I will have my lovely big DD with me Smile

HeyJupiter · 05/04/2017 19:41

Yay grumpy, that's great news!

Penguin27 · 05/04/2017 19:43

That's great news grumpy Grin glad that he doesn't think you're likely to have a high risk pregnancy either. How are you feeling physically?

DancingUnicorn · 05/04/2017 19:43

That all sounds so positive grumpy!! I'm so glad! :)

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/04/2017 19:56

Thank you all - I am feeling great still and not sick at all 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 it lasts! Just tired in the afternoons.

I left work at 4:15 and came home and had a lovely hot shower and then went to GP. I've just met our new cleaner (she's lovely and is gonna make my life so much easier!) and now I'm gonna make myself a carb fest dinner and watch OBEM (DH is out).

Hope everyone is having a lovely evening x

Mummyme87 · 05/04/2017 20:16

Even if you were high risk grumpy you would probably be seen once and signed back to midwifery led care. Wouldn't stop you having a home birth obviously unless you laboured before 37/40.

Penguin27 · 05/04/2017 20:17

Glad you're feeling good! Enjoy your carbs Grin I'm about to watch obem too!!

Mummy that article is really interesting... makes me think I should stop drinking wine while ttc 😂

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/04/2017 20:32

Thanks mummy good to know! Hope this bean stays put till 37wks!

Penguin which series? I don't have a TV so I'm on 4OD thingy

Penguin27 · 05/04/2017 21:09

I'm not sure what series, but the new one that was on yesterday! There are only two problems with obem... the surgery scenes & the scouse accent! 😂 sorry to any Liverpudlians we have here!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/04/2017 21:12

There is a series in Bristol but I can't remember which one it is! Much nicer accent.

Seven0fNine · 05/04/2017 21:55

I much prefer the Bristol one and I'm a Liverpudlian...it makes me cringe!!! I Deffo don't speak like that, it's so fake!!!

Grumpy I'm so pleased the doctor was able to sort you out xx
mummy its so nice to hear from you xxx

I'm feeling fine about the bfn..it will all come in good time xxx

penguinsandotters · 05/04/2017 22:20

I just encountered my first tube arsehole 😒 I wore my badge this morning (I generally don't) as I've got lots of bags, and am feeling a bit sick and anxious. When I got on, asked lady in priority seat if she minded if I sat down. She just said "why?" Despite the badge very visible. So I said "I'm pregnant". Everyone looked up. She goes "well you don't LOOK pregnant!" And huffed while getting up.

It was so embarrassing I wish I had said something more to her like "no I just like to humiliate myself in front of strangers for fun" or "are you seriously accusing me of faking it you horrible bitch" or "would you like me to vomit on you to prove it" 😡

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 06/04/2017 07:45

She sounds like an absolute asshole grumpy

I always think of witty comebacks afterwards too, not so easy in the heat of the moment.

Hope you're feeling a little better soon.

orangefolly · 06/04/2017 08:01

God what a fucking bitch. I guarantee you everyone in the carriage would have been judging her, not you grumpy! And even if you weren't pregnant but had come over all dizzy or sick, someone ought to be nice enough to give you a seat anyway! It's easy to miss those badges when you're reading a book or something, but if you're actually asked...

Morning everyone. parsnips not sure whether to cross my fingers for you or not! Smile

How are you doing today dancing? Thinking of you.

jupiter Hope you're feeling better. Yes FW is over now and I am in the TWW. Think I am going to test on the 13th - I am away with friends for Easter and need to know if I should be avoiding the booze! It's quite a relief not to be POASing for a little while though - all those OPKs I burned through this cycle. I hate them!!
