Right ladies ... you will have noticed my lack of posts this week ... well part of that is because I've been busy and like everyone else I need time away from the thread now and again to clear my head and to stop being so obsessive with tTC .... as we all know it can take over our every thought.

That said - the reason I set up the thread in the first place is because I really wanted to be part of a group of ladies who were tTC, and who wanted to stay positive about it - most of the time. I accept cd 1 is a bitch and we all have a right to feel down when we get af .... but bella and cakes displayed really good pma about this which got me thinking yeah - they're right ... periods are necessity to the process.
Anyway without rambling too much ...
what I am trying to say is that the thread has taken a bit of a knock recently in terms of PMA .... and the fun and laughter seems to have gone astray ....
Whilst I appreciate that this is a really stressful time for everyone please can I kindly ask you all to be mindful of the tone of your posts and try your very best not to be a negative nancy ? This is supposed to be a thread of warmth love and laughter and it's kind of losing its sparkle ....so please please please can we all build it back up by posting our favourite PMA quotes or jokes?

3 Feb was CD1 of the cycle I conceived on and the NHS calc and m/wife has told me my edd is 11/12 November so all you ladies who have cd1 before this weekend will have an edd up to the end of 2017 when you get your bfp.

Positive mental attitude and visualisation is the order of the day here - I truly believe visualisation helps you to achieve what you want so visualise those Christmas babies, keep visualising and visualising and they WILL appear!!

Hippy - that is fascinating. The power of the subconscious mind is amazing. Talking of visualisation - did you ever draw your twins??

Hope everyone is well :) xo

Hippychic79 · 23/03/2017 08:51

Morning moo ~ no I did try but my drawing is rubbish :))) I have been meditating a lot this week as I need to get my subconscious mind on board as it's clearly late getting to the party
Big hugs 🤗

Despite having the bubonic plague a heavy cold, I am determined to DTD tonight as haven't done it at all in FW Shock!!! Anyone got any tips to get DH in the mood?!?!

MissMagpie · 23/03/2017 09:30

Good idea Hippy. This month, I think I have really changed my mindset and have gone from 'if' to 'when' I get pregnant. A few friends have given birth in the last few weeks and all these newborns have convinced me I am having another one! PMA definitely will help. Negative energy never gets you anywhere.

I try and think of AF as a cleansing of the womb ready for another shot at conceiving. It actually reassures me that I am working as a woman should be. And it's a good excuse to pamper, reflect and really appreciate what we already have.

Rainbow, in my experience, they calculate due dates according to the date you last started your period. The 40 weeks of pregnancy starts from that date. So I think a few of us will still be popping out that perfect Christmas present, all being well!!
It'a not a perfect system due to the fact people's cycles are different lengths. And they adjust due date according to what scans look like too.

Sooo, I am 8dpo. Going to dive head first into my to do list in an effort to forget about it!!

rainbowsockstoday · 23/03/2017 09:39

Ok so edd can only be established by scan not the date of your period as you're not pregnant from that moment. But anyway.

I think pma and reality have to sometimes go together. Hippy was right about if you're not 100% certain on something it won't happen. I will always be 99% wanting a baby and that's probably why it's not happening. The 1% of me that doesn't want a baby is because that 1% likes sex and my DH is happy with having two children so the month we conceive will be the last time I ever have sex. It's hard to be excited about that prospect and I'm not someone who would have an affair and I can't get divorced so I'll finish my sex life in my 30's!

I'm not trying to put negativity in here I'm just saying in reality we are all a bit late for 2017 and should be excited about the 2018 babies to come. My af came the 5/3 so that counts me out. My current af started this morning but it's only the mid flow so will be fine by tomorrow. It's late so I'm probably cranky as it means the next af will be late too.

I apologise and send you all the flowers we stole from the garden

@Hippychic79 you are my identical hand twin 😂 we have the same thoughts

i love your (and everyone else's) info sharing, i definitely need to get my #PMA head on with this TTC lark as i keep saying to DH "if we're lucky enough next cycle" and he's even said "when" to reinforce my negative nancy attitude.

like you, i have deliberately avoided pregnancy for many many years and we can all remember how shocked i was when i realised i'd ovulated the month after ceasing BC (remember my newbie posts - "omfg my body just did what it is designed to do... holy shit... this just got real... i'm having unprotected sex with my husband... arrrggghhhh what am i doing" hhahaha)

i will do some research along the lines of the advice your naturopath gave you - i need to follow in your footsteps 👍🏼👍🏼

I WILL HAVE A BABY - ssshhh don't tell my wee Bella as she's obviously the centre of my universe atm 😻

@rainbowsockstoday your daffs are so pretty! mine were covered in snow earlier this week! love a fresh flower 🌺

BellaMoon · 23/03/2017 10:13

@rainbowsockstoday sorry posted that last message too early... my personality is to be pragmatic so i enjoy facts sharing. however, when dealing with TTC, speaking for myself, i find the reality of less than 40% chance even with the best of circumstances, can get me so down that a little PMA, laugh, joke, fun lightens the mood xx

SalemTheTeenageWitch · 23/03/2017 10:32

Lovely daffs Rainbow. We have a churchyard behind our house, when I'm better I can't wait to go and look at the growing daffs there - they remind me so much of the longer days and sunny weather to come!

Bella The cats!!! Mine will probably be naughty monkeys and bring in lots of 'presents' #deadmice #headlesssquirrells. It's my Bram's birthday today, not that he cares! He is 2!!! I remember the text I had from my friend (Bram's Mum's owner) saying he'd been bored. Awwww, time flies! sad cat lady....

BellaMoon · 23/03/2017 10:55

@SalemTheTeenageWitch get well soon will ya, like hurry up already hehe, it's FW dontchya know 😷🤒🤧🤕

👉🏼👌🏼

aww is Bram you're wee black one? i have such a thing for black animals, weird or what lol. iv been tempted to get another cat but Bella is such a princess she'd likely pack her bags and leave hehe.

so what's everyone got planned this weekend? anything exciting going on? xx

rainbowsockstoday · 23/03/2017 11:12

Well this weekend we have DH's birthday on Saturday but he doesn't want to do anything and Sunday him and dc are out all day because it's Mother's Day so I've got a weekend of cleaning planned. It's a thrilling time for me 😆

CakesALot · 23/03/2017 12:21

Great reminder of our thread purpose there @Hippychic79 thank you. I've bought myself some books about seeking out happiness and letting go of the things beyond our control. I'm a total bookworm and get so much from reading. I've also booked a 10 week pass at my yoga centre because I'd got a bit slack recently and find it so energising. PMA all the way! And yes @BellaMoon, we should talk about 'when' and not 'if'

Weekend plans are to visit my friend and her newborn and a stately home Sunday for Mother's Day. Already have a beautiful card from DD that she made at nursery! I have such a hoard of all her doodles and pairings. How can I possibly get rid of any?!

CakesALot · 23/03/2017 12:22

And I really want a cat! Actually 2! But DH isn't keen and keeps finding excuses 😺

AmandaP86x · 23/03/2017 12:31

Hey girls hope your all well and feeling positive.

CD10 here. Been using OPKs however spoken with gyn/obs consultant in work and they all day OPKs should be done with FMU every day 🤦🏻‍♀️ And they do the infertility clinics lol so I'm like ok I'll go back to the fmu. Tested again today there and got low fertility but seem to have some discharge. DTD last night anyways! Where r u Peggy 😂

CakesALot · 23/03/2017 12:42

Cd10 is still quite early @AmandaP86x so I'm sure she's on her way! Fx for you. How nice to have experts on hand 😂

CakesALot · 23/03/2017 12:57

I just hung some washing outside for the first time this year. It's the little things like that that bring me joy!! Lovely!!

AmandaP86x · 23/03/2017 14:07

Ha ha @cakes I know that's the only benefit of working here 😂 However when I was pregnant I got a scan thinking everything was ok and there was no heartbeat 😥😥😥 so that was a bit of a nightmare don't think I'd get scanned on my ward again!!!

Moo31 · 23/03/2017 14:12

Hippy we cross posted earlier and i am only catching up and seeing your post now - fab post. You have such a way with words and thoughts and feelings. I really admire you. Positive Peggy's from now on! Grin

Salem hope you feel better soon! I find just taking my clothes off works - he's easy pleased! Sorry I can't be more help on that front!

Amanda - she's on her way. I think for an ave 28 day cycle you should ov midway (I could be wrong) ... my cycles are 30 days and I ov on day 16 I think.

Cakes I love getting washing on the line! In fact I am treating myself to a new line this year! Oh built himself a putting green in our garden last summer so I am taking some space for me and having a new washing line! Haha!

And yes ladies - it's "when" not "if. As in "when we all have our babies we ARE meeting up" - Bella you sound like the hostess with the mostess so I'm nominating you to host! Grin

Re weekend plans I have been willing this weekend to arrive for 3 weeks! Tomorrow I'm having an early scan (eek!) and then on Sunday we are having lunch with both sets of parents (first time ever everyone will have been together for a meal due to oh parents living 100 miles away) and we are going to make our announcement. I'm super excited!!

MissMagpie · 23/03/2017 14:18

So excited for you Moo! What a lovely weekend you have in store.

SalemTheTeenageWitch · 23/03/2017 14:37

Bella Bram is the tabby! Mags is the black beauty, she is a spoilt little shit!!!!

Moo LOL that does not work for me!!! Although I "mistakenly" just left my CB digi opk with the solid smiley face "lying around". Cue DH's enquiries muahahaha my master plan worked!!!!!

After tracking OPKs now for 4+ months I know I obviate on CD16 - I just confirm with a IC opk and CB opk. I recommend this ladies, saved me so much stress!!!!

SalemTheTeenageWitch · 23/03/2017 14:38

Yes..... obviate!!!! It wanted to change it to obvious, which is the most ironic thing when TTC!!! Nothing is bloody obvious in this friggin game!!!!

Moo31 · 23/03/2017 14:50

Haha Salem different strokes for different folks and all that! Haha! Good work ;)

Thank you Magpie :)
