It's difficult, because there's such a push towards contraception (free etc) that you wouldn't necessarily want to put off a 17 yo from taking it. But as people get older it's probably something that should be discussed at renewal appointments. I got mine renewed for about 2.5 years without actually seeing anyone as they were always too busy, so the receptionist just gave me a token for the blood pressure machine and then a prescription was ready 2 days later!!

Btw, I definitely didn't complain about the ease of getting it renewed!!

Yep that's right grumpy although I thought I was back to normal, this month I've gone the whole fertile window, well the whole time so far with absolutely no cm. That's really weird isn't it?

Hi lady welcome! Ovia and opks are a sure fire way to end up confused, hopefully if you get a bleed soon you'll know more so where you are up to!
Thanks jupiter I'm feeling a bit emotional now that I'm probably not pregnant and I just really want to be, I know I'll be fine again in a while but I'm having a 'I wanna be pregnant now', pelvic twinges are back but just discover I'm a bit constipated (sorry tmi!!! ) which always happens to me after travelling so I feel like that's probably the cause of the pain! Anyway we live in hope I guess! I told DH I had a good feeling yesterday and then he got all excited so now I feel like I'll let him down which I know is stupid! Anyway I'm being melodramatic!
I think it should be mentioned about how long it can take it regulate after, really it's important to disclose all the facts and let someone make an informed choice, would be an interesting meta analysis to see how long it takes to go back to normal after being on various contraception ..... Ill happily be a research partner if anyone wants to look into it!

buzz I was exactly the same this FW, very little cm, not sure why, I used preseed to make up for it!

Dancing you're absolutely right about not wanting to put teenagers off actually... but also could definitely have been mentioned at review appointments.

MrsC I totally understand how you're feeling. I have been the same the last two months. It's so hard longing for something but having no real clue whether your body is playing along. You may well be pregnant as well as constipated :) Your DH would never want you to feel like you'd let him down I'm sure, although again that feeling is familiar. Fingers crossed for you - if not this month, then hopefully soon! Mumsnet would be a great place to do some meta analysis!

buzz I think ewcm varies month by month. I've had much less this month already compared to this time last month (thank you ovia) when it was abundant. If mine hasn't arrived tomorrow then I'm going to get some pre-seed stuff from boots (or their equivalent, can't remember what it's called) to make up for it.

mrs totally get how you feel, this whole process is mega stressful and I've not even properly started yet! My DP is the same and is disappointed when I say it's not going to happen this month.

jupiter seems like I need to invest in this pressed stuff! Yes Ovia likes to rub it in doesn't she.

I need to get better at opking next month, parsnip did well at catching the surge i must have missed mine if it did even ever happen!

Hmm yeah buzz I was the same either missed the surge or it didn't happen. Do you think maybe we just aren't ovulating yet? It has crossed my mind despite having 1 real period already..

The nurse did say don't worry if you're not back to normal for 3 months but I'm obviously now worrying!

I wish I'd never seen that bloody positive OPK now!! I have baby on the brain 24/7. In only at 4 DPO. Ages to go til test time and clearly the early tests don't work anyway.

For OPKers I would recommend testing both morning and evening as that worked for me.

Thing is I was quite happy to wait and then just seeing the positive OPK and knowing ovulation was imminent just sent me into TTC mode and now I will be crushed to have AF. I know that is ridiculous but I'm being illogical anyway!!

I did get other signs like lots of EWCM and wet open cervix on day 12 but no positive OPK (although I got bored on day 15 and stopped doing them). Red did you get a positive OPK yet? I think you did right?

Tonight the nausea & backache has returned and I'm horribly bloated. If I'm not pregnant I hope this isn't what my normal cycle feels like every month

ahh parsnips I know the feeling.. it's like when you know it's now possible you just want it to happen straight away!

The only thing I have to say is ....that stupid pill, would have come off it years ago if I'd of know how much is masks.

Secondly, I am in mega symptom spotting territory now at 5dpo and for the last 3 afternoons/evenings I have not stopped farting...it's gross and hilarious all at the same time.

Evening ladies, so much to catch up on! Can anybody quickly update me if there's anymore bfp I should know about? I can't go through near on 500 posts 😩 haha.

My app stopped working and I wasn't getting email notifications so didn't know what was going on with anybody. I'm now cd 14 after stopping the pill and had my withdrawal bleed and finished which lasted 5 days!! Still using other protection altho me and oh hate it but needs must until May.

Hey Laura I had squinty squinter lines on the last 3 tests but too faint to tell so far! Holding out till Tuesday / Wednesday for next test.

Ooo what do you do Jupiter? I am sending the CB sticks tomorrow for you... i have a fresh box of that boots lube (all sealed and everything!) if you want it! (I know its very odd asking a stranger if they want your lube i bought 3 boxes and didn't even use a whole box!

I think the problem with warning people about the length of time it takes to go back to normal is because it varies... Seven i was on Yasmin like you and the 2-3 times i took a break from it AF was bang on time... i do think there should be a mandatory break from hormonal contraception every few years for ladies though

So cute to hear how you told people Dancing i always said i would be one of those that would wait till 12 weeks but pregnancy is hard!!! And actually its nice having a big support network of family/close friends whilst everything seems a bit wonky at the moment!

Confused i was starting to find the secret a bit overwhelming as it felt like I was constantly lying to the people closest to me. I know there's still a long way to go for me, but if something goes wrong I'd have told all these people anyway! I've got everything crossed for you tomorrow. I do hope this stressful time for you ends with wonderful news and you can concentrate on enjoying and regular panic about pregnancy!
