Ok so I am bravely attempting to set up a new thread for anyone tTC.

Limit the lows - yes it's a challenging time but being negative gets you down.
I'm thinking positivity breeds positivity and positive thinking gets positive results -
It may take some of us a little longer than others ... but does that matter? I think not.

New rules - instead of saying af due ... we say bfp due ...

So here goes ... my stats
Age 38
Cycle 3
Bfp due 14/02

awww MrsB I think its perfectly normal to think about testing the closer you get to your BFP due date :) I started off last cycle with the best of intentions - 'I'm going to wait, I'm not going to cave blah blah blah...' About 10DPO all of a sudden, testing was all i could think about... I caved at 11dpo and af arrived 12dpo .... :( I think its a lot harder to resist when you've got no distractions. @magpie - i think we are same DPO. i got my smiley on clear blue thursday evening so i could be 6dpo or i could be 4dpo. gawd knows! do you just take the inbetween and call it 5dpo?

i'm due AF/BFP saturday 25th (i'm assuming in 28day cycle) and i poas twice yesterday - still find this hilarious. actually LOL'ing whilst typing this.

so DH is now borderline refusing to come near my "incase" i'm pregnant - he's about to get pounced upon i'm getting a lot of "i was reading that..." or "i saw online that..." from him when i get in from work - he's literally spending all day on symptom spotting. great eh? saving me the bother lol

iv had v v v tender (that's my boobies) since ovulation time. hasn't let up at all!

my cat is a psychopath but i love her! a bit panicky about the whole cats v babies old wives tail thingy. had a friend rehome 2 cats when she was pregnant as she "didn't want to chance it". i'd be devastated

Bellamoon your luteal phase is the length between ovulation and AF. Usually for women it is fairly consistent. Doesn't usually alter an if it does only by a day either side. Ovulation can move which is what determines your cycle length.

Ie. I have a 12 day luteal phase. Occasionally it's 11 days and once or twice been 13 but typically 12. So this means from the point I ovulate. AF arrives 12 days later.

So my first too cycles after mc I ovulated on CD13. So my period arrived CD26 giving me a 25 day cycle. So 12 days later.

This past cycle I ovulated on CD16 so knew my cycle would be slightly longer. An yep AF turned up on CD29 giving me a 28 day cycle. 2 days longer as I ovulated 2 days later...

Hope that makes sense??!! 😊😊

obviously the luteal phase would be 2 weeks based on ovulating on cd14? think iv got it now xx

Yep pretty much! 14 days is a standard luteal phase. Everyone's is different. Some can have 16 days. Some as little as 10. It's unique to you I think. At least 10 is needed though to fall pregnant really.

But if you know when you ovulate. Or when you get your positive OPK. You could roughly work it out xx

Today should be DTD day according to SMEP but DH has had a migraine all day so I think we will have to miss out . Also, opk was not as dark as yesterday. Hoping I haven't missed ovulation, although I am only on CD9....

Its odd were getting a lot of boob symptoms, maybe someone should do a study about the effects of PMA on breast tissue lol

Moo I was trying to get my DH to guess what everything stood for last week, he was saying hes been trying to google about stuff but why does everyone talk in code.

My in laws are staying for the best part of a fortnight Rose. They live abroad so stay here a couple of times a year. They help around the house so I can't complain too much but we don't have a big house so privacy is limited!

Bella I got my static smiley last Weds afternoon so am taking Friday as 1dpo. But it is a bit inexact. Which is frustrating. But I don't temp so just guess a bit!

What is weird is that my cycles are a week shorter than they used to be. In fact before having DS they were even 40 days plus. Now they are 28 or 29! At least it gives me more chances to conceive a year eh?!

Rose my little tabby is Bram and my black cat is Magwitch totally outing myself with weird cat names. I am cat obsessed.

Evening ladies ... hearing you all talk about your dp's getting involved in acronym guessing etc is making me smile I wish my oh was fully on board with this tTC lark - if he was im sure he'd be exactly the same - getting all confused, googling stuff and dtd every night in fw .... It's so hard ... part of me wants to fess up and tell him how I feel but the other part of me is scared because if he really doesn't want tTC then he will put a complete halt to dtd in fw until he looses track of days . No he stresses enough as it is - I'll just carry on tTC too secret mission

Rose funnily enough I tried drawing a baby face this afternoon and it was rubbish so I screw it up in a paddy and thought I'd try again at the wk end ... I'll try and draw twins ... that's a great idea xxx

Magpie - wow that's a long time for the in laws to stay ... mine aren't local to me so stayed the other week for 24hours and that was hard enough... fair play to you - you must have the patience of a saint! Xxx

my cat is Bella (aka the dark destroyer) - she's such a dick at times lol. she loves me when she's in the mood but merely tolerates the DH which keeps me amused haha

@magpie that is weird for your cycle to completely shorten like that - suppose your PMA is spot on tho, more cycles means more OPK etc. win win xx

@magpie does your OH suffer a lot from migraines? girl in my work does, but had a constant headache also. she had a certain bit of her ear pierced on saturday gone and she hasn't had any pain whatsoever since!

obvs ear piercing for a guy might not be up his street but as a pressure point might be worth applying pressure til the head lifts and getting on with your DTD while OPK
