Ok so I am bravely attempting to set up a new thread for anyone tTC.
Plug in your stats ...
Share the highs of your journey
Limit the lows - yes it's a challenging time but being negative gets you down.
I'm thinking positivity breeds positivity and positive thinking gets positive results -
It may take some of us a little longer than others ... but does that matter? I think not.

New rules - instead of saying af due ... we say bfp due ...

So here goes ... my stats
Age 38
Cycle 3
Bfp due 14/02

Hippy - sorry about what your cousin said BUT it's prove that it can happen, it does happen and it WILL happen for you! Perfection takes time and maybe that's the reason for the delay :)

Charley - step away from the tests!!

Ps also supposed to be working - but I was late home last night and needed to get caught up haha! I couldn't concentrate on work until I did! Not sure what I'll put on my timesheet for that 1/2 hour!! Grin

Ah charley I love it!! Grin Where is this from?!

Charley2016 · 08/02/2017 11:58

Hippy, your cousin seems very lucky! However I'm trying to now think of it as we are all having this lovely experience of getting to know some lovely ladies, getting lots of support from our other halfs and getting really, really excited about what's to come. So when it's our turns, we will all be extra extra happy Smile In terms of the laughing, I'm super extreme! I'm either a grumpy miserable cow or I'm life and soul and there's not much in between haha! Today is a very happy positive day which I think is all down to your wonderful positivity and quotes rubbing off so thank you!

Moo I'm working from home today but I'm the same as you! Once I get started on here I'm in trouble haha!

Rose glad to hear I'm not the only one with mad dreams! Fx it means your implantation bleed isn't far off Grin

Thanks for the positivity Archie! How are you feeling today?

Charley2016 · 08/02/2017 11:58

Moo I just got it off Amazon Smile it's so tiny!! I want something to put in it and squeeeeeze!

sweetcheeks24 · 08/02/2017 12:15

That is super cute Charley!!! ❤️❤️
I need to start getting serious with this TTC business, no more guess work! I'm CD12 today - still figuring out my cycles... last few months, they have been between 28-30 days but AF lasted 9 days this month Sad Does a long AF push OV back or does it means OV will occur straight after AF ends?? I'm embarrassingly clueless! BlushShock If the average cycle is 28 days, and you ovulate around 12-14 days after the start of AF, I could be ovulating sometime in the next couple of days, right? Unless long AF delays my OV. I need to get me some opks! No time for IC order, better dash to Boots now! Any recommendations for ones that won't break the bank??

sweetcheeks24 · 08/02/2017 12:17

Sorry for rudely interrupting there, btw! I am on my lunch and only get half an hour so just quickly scanning the thread! Smile

Moo31 · 08/02/2017 12:34

Charley - it's adorable! Hopefully you'll have a little person in it in circa 9 months!!

I'm sitting beside a 6 mth pg woman and she is talking about making a smoothie from her placenta and then freeze drying the rest ... not sure about that one and I think she has put me off my lunch!

Sweetcheeks - my cycles are around 30 days and I ov'd on day 17 last cycle. My period is super short (1-2 days) so I'm not sure what the effect of a long period is - sorry! Also someone (I think rose) mentioned the second surge which might cause cycles to be longer than 28 days so that's also a possibility. I also have just bought Ic opk so far so can't help on that one either sorry!

BellaMoon · 08/02/2017 12:39

@sweetcheeks24

i bought clear blue digital 4day ovulation kit yday. if your thinking about tracking ovulation it's worth the £40. comes with 20 test sticks and clear instructions. good luck, fx

sweetcheeks24 · 08/02/2017 12:42

Moo, I contemplated getting my placenta made into capsules but quickly went off the idea as had complications towards the end of my PG and placenta wasn't in a great state by then! Could never have eaten it like cooked food though - not surprised you've gone off your lunch! Confused
Thanks for that - will scroll back later and check out Rose's post! I've always thought I was ovulating much later in the cycle but have no real evidence of that as haven't consistently tracked! Wow, wish my AF would bugger off after 2 days!Smile

sweetcheeks24 · 08/02/2017 12:45

Thank you Bella! Pricey but I have saved up lots of Boots points so I could use them to get those opks! Good luck with your testing, and you too Moo!

Moo31 · 08/02/2017 13:08

A short period is all well and good until you are ttc and convince yourself it's IB even though the tens of pg tests are bfn! Lol
Good luck sweet - let us know how you get on!

Charley2016 · 08/02/2017 13:10

Sweet - I don't think the length of your period makes any difference hun. Mine were about 7 days when I was on the pill . After coming off they are now 3 days which is lush! I think it's ok if your days before you ovulate differ, it's the luteral phase which should stay the same. I've ovulated between days 13-16 but I always get my period exactly 2weeks after the day I get my positive (so 13dpo).

sweetcheeks24 · 08/02/2017 13:14

True, that didn't occur to me - sorry for being insensitive there, Moo! Wouldn't the whole process be easier if we were all textbook, like the internet leads us to believe we will be when TTC! Will be eagerly awaiting your updates too! Smile

sweetcheeks24 · 08/02/2017 13:18

Thanks for the advice Charley! I am going to sit down tonight and get started on charting everything! I think once I start using opks, it will make it all a bit less chaotic!

Charley2016 · 08/02/2017 13:23

Yeh the OPKs definitely help Hun! Good luck with them Smile once you get in to the swing of them and know what your body's doing then you can get away with using much less of them too x

Hippychic79 · 08/02/2017 13:33

Moo - Thank you for the reassurance on the length of time its taking me vs my cousin. Yeah my OH can be very romantic... although that said we've only been together just over a year, I'm praying it doesn't wear off :))

Charley - that baby grow is absolutely lush hun :) I am now looking at leather personal engraved bands on notonthehighstreet.com ... i even chose the one i liked, put the following text on 'Soon to be a Daddy. 2 become 3'... £49.99 ... i even put it in my basket... after a couple of minutes of deliberating, i logically decided not to get ahead of myself and promptly closed the window.

Great perspective too - you're right, we're all getting to know each other and getting more excited as each day passes... gosh by the time we give birth i reckon we will explode with excitement :))

Moo - not surprised you went off your lunch ... not sure about the placenta smoothie! :)

Sweet - I would recommend the clearblue ones too. I have the ones that just give you smiley face or blank circle, so these pinpoint your best 2 fertile dates... I will let you know when they're right :))

Sweet - I don't chart my basal temp but i do track my information on a spreadsheet which I'm finding really helpful as my memory is shocking....

Roll on the 9 months of no cycles :)

xxx

Charley I'm feeling much more positive today. I think one of my main concerns was having a big age gap between DS and baby number 2, and every month that passes means I worry more and more. DS is 3y 1m now, so even if I get BFP this month, there will be nearly 4 years between them. But tbh DS is an absolute dream, and he's so loving and caring, so I think it doesn't matter what age gap they have, he will always be the best big brother ever Smile

DS is a Christmas baby (he was due Christmas Eve, but arrived 29th Dec). I love Christmas and think it's so magical, so I love it that he has his birthday then, but I'm slightly concerned that we could end up with 2 Christmas babies at this rate. I said to DH last night "If I'm not pregnant by March/April, shall we stop trying for a few months in case we end up with a Chrsitmas due date again" and he just rolled his eyes and said "how long have you been banging on about having another baby? I don't think we can just stop now" Grin

Hippychic79 · 08/02/2017 15:03

Awwwww Archie's ... your son sounds delicious :) ... hey there's 5 years between my nieces ... and they get on just lovely ... us women do tend to worry too much ... I guthink as that makes up for how thoughtless men can be sometimes Wink xxx

I used to think about when would be a nice time of year to have a baby - now I just want one whatever time of year!

Hippy I totally sympathise with your situation. I hate the not knowing but the knowing after a BFN is worse so keep the PMA and hopefully you will get what you want.

So I have a opk question...
after this morning, I have done a dual hormone CB ov test and got a static smiley. I had saved my wee for 4 hours or so - could this be a false positive or am I at my Peak?!

ArchiesMamaBird · 08/02/2017 15:22

MissMagpie I'd say that you're at your peak. I do find the CB tests to be quite accurate. Have you got any EWCM or watery CM at all? If you have then I'd say you are definitely due to ov soon so get DTD!!

Hippy Aww thank you, I'm not going to worry too much about anything anymore, because I'm sure that stressing definitely won't help when ttc!

MissMagpie · 08/02/2017 15:24

Yes Archies - def have ewcm. Have done a couple of days. Dtd yday and will be doing so tonight too!

ArchiesMamaBird · 08/02/2017 15:30

MissMagpie Eeeeeek how exciting! Good luck Grin Can't wait until I'm ovulating again in a few weeks

Hippychic79 · 08/02/2017 16:00

Thanks Magpie ... I've been toying with the idea of testing all day but I really can't face the upset of a snowy white back drop ... I guess ATM ignorance is bliss ... although I do wish we had a built in limit on how many times and how many variations of the words 'early pg symptoms' we put in Google :))

Sounds like your at your peak .... happy baby dancing ... Wink

Archie's - your right to conclude not to worry ... I know from experience that it's a massive waste of time and makes you feel horrible .. PMA all the way chic xxx
