Limit the lows - yes it's a challenging time but being negative gets you down.
I'm thinking positivity breeds positivity and positive thinking gets positive results -
It may take some of us a little longer than others ... but does that matter? I think not.

New rules - instead of saying af due ... we say bfp due ...

Bfp due 14/02

Hey all. I'm 5dpo, cd22. Due18/02. I think i have thrush!!! Noooo, my partner thinks he has it too. Any idea what's effective if Im TTC? Hopefully it clears by next Fw.

Also what's a double surge in opks? Not heard of this before. Anyone any ideas. Ooooh fingers crossed for you Hippy and you're doing so well avoiding poas.keep hanging on there x

Itsjustaphase I had thrush last week too. I used the pessary from the chemist for it. I've heard that that's the safest treatment if there's a chance that you could be pregnant. (Although I used the fluconazole tablet when I was pregnant with DS, it was really early on and I had no clue I had conceived, but it didn't do him any harm )

Archie's - you see you're probably only on cycle 4 ... it just seems longer cuz you made the decision tTC 10months ago .... and I for one totally get that. I stupidly thought I could choose which month my child is born in and ideally I wanted an August baby as my birthday is in January and it's a rubbish month in my opinion to have a birthday... I didn't really want a December or January baby ... but if I don't see my bfp soon then that's what I'll get ... law of the sod sometimes :))) oh well ... I made my decision tTC back in September and right now I couldn't care which I give birth in I just want a baby :))) lol

Hiya Phase - I'm not sure what a double surge is, I just read it a few pages back on this thread ... it's probably rare ... I was just using it as another example of how easy it is to rack the cycle months of tTC up.

Hi all just to clarify on what I learnt from my research about the double surge, sometimes our body gears up to ovulate but for some reason doesn't realease the egg. It will then do another LH surge and try again. If your just starting ttc I wouldnt worry about this, I was tracking because I've been a long time off bc without a bfp and I was getting my bloods done that month to see if I ovulate so wanted all the info I could get incase I got a low result on my progesterone level which would indicate I didn't ovulate (results came out ok thankfully)
The most common reason you don't ovulate is illness or stress, so if you think that might be an issues it's maybe worth doing a few more opks that month, or just keep bding till u feel better lol

Sarah I'm giving you a pea addict high five! I tried to grow them last year too but only got a few pods, I think a pea straight out of the pod is one of the best things in the world.

Lol Hippy at your pea vape idea, they should just do those for pea addicts for when peas aren't in season. My husbands stopped vaping now but did it a lot last year.

Oh also if your periods aren't regular I'd maybe track for a second surge as sometimes your periods are late because you ovulated late, which might've been because the first surge didn't work (just a thought)

Hi ladies, how's everyone doing today? I'm just home from work, popped in to boots and bought lots of new bubble bath and creams to have a nice relax! So I'm currently feeling nice and chilled out in a bubble bath although of course while I was in boots..... don't know why I waste money haha! Determined to wait until Friday now and not waste the tests. Hope everyone else has managed to hold out x

Lol hi Charley I was also in the bath, just got out now. there's something exciting about just buying the tests though lately I've got all mine online not as much fun, got a mega pack of the internet cheapies, 2 FRER & a Tesco test that I'd forgot about. I'm excited to use my FRER I rarely use expensive tests, maybe spending the extra money will make me pregnant

I just feel that as a society we've got used to having things instantly and this doesn't help when you're impatient and tTC ... even the 2ww can feel like forever! I know sometimes that it feels like a long road but it's important we don't stress too much about length of time - as Rose had so rightly pointed out ... stress can affect ovulation and none of us be wanting that :))

Hiya Charley ... hhhhmmm a lovely bubbly bath ... you pamper yourself Hun :)) and good luck staying away from the frer ... mine is yelling at me as I type ... pee on me pee on me .... cd25 tomorrow and knicker watch has already started ... of course I've googled (again) early pg signs and of course convinced myself that I have 95% of them .... even though bloated and peeing too much is clearly down to drinking almost 2litres of water, a sniffley nose is due to the cold weather and twinges down below could be either or really .... :))))

Rose - that's interesting and useful. My cycles are averaging around 31 days and haven't been any less than 30 (I don't think - need to check my notes!) since I came off the pill. So I'm going to do an extra few opk this month and see if I'm a second surger! Thanks for that.

We're getting a new bathroom in at the minute so very jealous of everyone's bubble baths - enjoy! :)

My oh jokes that I don't do v-day as apparently I told him this our 1st year together! But in reality I always cook us a nice meal (I might cheat and visit m&s this year) and of course I'll be having a glass of wine! He gets a card and I get flowers and we'll have a romantic night in! Hope everyone has something nice and romantic planned

Was really nice to just chill out and have a bath I'm CD27 tomorrow and I'm going to try my hardest not to test because I think if it's bfn on a FRER at 12dpo I'm pretty much definitely out! And if I am I'd be as well just wait until Friday for AF to show. I don't have much of anything today other than still having sore nipples. I always get a really bad back before AF so if that shows soon I will know! I'm on constant knicker watch too and CM watch as I normally notice it darker the morning AF comes.

Valentines a bit out for us really... he's got work all day and I'm in a seminar from 8am-7pm! Also trying to not drink the rest of the month so..... maybe just do a nice dinner and a duvet day on the Sunday or something instead. Do you have special plans?

Feeling pissed off that my lovely day has been spoiled by AF. Sorry to whinge everyone. I know this has only been Cycle 3 but why hasn't it happened yet?! Someone I know has just started bleeding heavily when pg (14 weeks) which has also made me feel a bit sad.

i'm new to MN and new to TTC

I'm 36, DH 37

First month off BC so not sure if even had a cycle or if it was a withdrawal bleed. using clear blue ovulation test kit with smiley faces. if it was AF, i'm CD11 of god knows what cycle length (pre BC i was around 28days). iv had a flashing smiley face this morn and evening (only bought the test kit yesterday).

DH is staying how "text book" this timing is however i just can't get my head around the fact Iv been on BC 20+yrs, I'm overweight (but relatively healthy) so can i really be fertile/ovulating within 1st month off BC? i had trained myself to believe it would take ages.... giving myself time to lose weight ideally xx
