Ok so I am bravely attempting to set up a new thread for anyone tTC.
Plug in your stats ...
Share the highs of your journey
Limit the lows - yes it's a challenging time but being negative gets you down.
I'm thinking positivity breeds positivity and positive thinking gets positive results -
It may take some of us a little longer than others ... but does that matter? I think not.

New rules - instead of saying af due ... we say bfp due ...

So here goes ... my stats
Age 38
Cycle 3
Bfp due 14/02

Baking, I am exactly the same - my memory is awful since having DS! My AF also doesn't mess about anymore since coming back! Suddenly regular for first time in years and bleeding doesn't last anywhere near as long. Bizarre.
Sorry AF has gotten you down a bit. Must be hard not to feel disappointed after conceiving very quickly first time round. Glad you've had work to keep you distracted though and FX you don't have too long to wait for happy news! What cycle are you now? (Forgotten, sorry! Wink)
Wish I'd gone off sweet stuff during PG. I'd never had a sweet tooth before; I'd always preferred savoury food. But suddenly I just wanted cake all the time and then after he was born, it's all I had time to eat! And now I'm addicted to sugar! Plus I reckon I'm probably comfort eating cos I'm not getting my BFP. Ah it's a vicious cycle! Wink

sarahboro1 · 06/02/2017 22:12

Sorry sweetcheeks hello! So many posts to keep up with!! How are you doing in your cycle? Xx

sweetcheeks24 · 06/02/2017 22:20

Hi Sarah! I know, I struggle a little with this one if I don't check often so no idea how people manage to keep up with the busier threads! I have just come off AF and must admit I'm not too clued up on cycle stuff. I think I blundered my way through it all very blindly last time and it was total pot luck that I managed to conceive Confused I think I need to start using OPKs as I can't rely on CM. This is way TMI (sorry!) but I naturally get quite a lot of CM so it's sometimes difficult to tell when I'm ovulating! How are you getting on??

sweetcheeks24 · 06/02/2017 22:22

Sorry Sarah - just saw your other post saying you're on cd4 now! Can't believe you used to get AF pain so bad that it made you vomit 🤢 Must have been dreadful x

bakingmad83 · 06/02/2017 22:24

Thanks Sarah and Sweetcheeks.

This will be cycle #3 sweetcheeks, so still early days really, so I can't complain :) After avoiding anything vaguely sugary in pregnancy, must admit that's now my one downfall. Find breastfeeding makes me so hungry and being up at night doesn't help, so probably do rely on sweet stuff to give me a boost. I'm somewhat limited what I can have though, as DS is allergic to both dairy and soya and reacts through my milk, so generally I have to bake something and don't have things at hand in the cupboards. Just as well!

Moo31 · 06/02/2017 22:30

I can't remember who said the pea thing but surely we are counteracting with all the pineapple, epo, conception vits, pre seed / conceive plus etc etc!

Re ICs - in that case our house is coming down with them! After spending a fortune 1st cycle on FR and CB oh discovered them, bought a load and is keeping us stocked up!! I'm poas-happy so going through almost 20 opks and 10 pg tests each cycle! Thank goodness they are cheap(er)!

Charley - I'm with you on that one. I'm over a stone heavier than I was a few years ago but since we agreed to start ttc my excuse is "I'm going to get fat anyway!" I had a clear out last week and got rid of lots of my skinny clothes that I have finally accepted i am never going to fit into again!

Rose - I didn't know that about the 2nd surge, useful thank you!

Baking - glad it's less painful for you. Don't be disappointed - PMA and onto the next cycle! :)

I haven't really looked into prams but you ladies are making me look up all these lovely prams and I am desperate to start making a list and comparing pram credentials! Also all this talk of visualising is making me very tempted to get my colouring pencils out and draw a (not very good) picture of me and oh with baby lol you ladies are keeping me sane but also making me a little crazy! Grin

sweetcheeks24 · 06/02/2017 22:34

Baking, BF made me ravenous too! Agree that you really do need an energy burst during these times - it's almost impossible to snack healthily with an infant hanging off your boob! Oh dear - I can sympathise as DS is allergic to dairy, eggs and nuts however he didn't react through my milk, so I didn't have it as bad as you!

bakingmad83 · 06/02/2017 22:50

Allergies make things tricky for the food shop and eating out don't they. Hopefully our little ones will grow out of them Sweetcheeks :)

sarahboro1 · 06/02/2017 22:55

Thanks sweetcheeks, thankfully I seem to have grown out of it now!! I would recommend opks I think they actually make me calmer knowing something is happening down there and we're giving it our best shot st catching it!!

Moo I haven't looked into anything baby gearish yet other than how to break the news and what theme I'd like for the nursery.....😂 Xx

sweetcheeks24 · 06/02/2017 23:08

You've convinced me, Sarah! I need to know 'something is going on down there' too!
Baking-YES! Eating out is an absolute nightmare. Do you find you always need to pack a boatload of snacks and back up food just in case you can't find anywhere to go when you're out and about?? Yep hopefully their allergies will make a sharp exit soon! Smile

Morning!

Yes Sweetcheeks, always pack a standby lunch too! At the mo DS is still young enough to feel ok giving him our own food in a café, but expect when he gets a bit busy may get some comments. I always do try to order something, but if there isn't anything suitable, what can you do! I'm hoping that any subsequent children don't have allergies, but know it's more likely in siblings. Trying to add a bit of dairy and soya back in my diet, as he doesn't seem to react to more processed foods via my milk, and read that if you avoid allergens in pregnancy when you have one with an allergy, subsequent can end up more highly allergic. Don't want that as two allergies and digestive symptoms is bad enough! But compared to serious illnesses allergies are nothing, so grateful that's all that's wrong :)

Charley2016 · 07/02/2017 08:18

Good morning ladies! Another IC - another blank white. Knew o wouldn't be able to hold out haha! Hope you all have a lovely Tuesday Smile

Moo31 · 07/02/2017 08:46

Morning all! Stay positive Charley - bfp not due until Friday right? Maybe a little early in testing yet. Stay positive!

Moo31 · 07/02/2017 08:47

Thank you for the inspiration hippy! :)

Charley2016 · 07/02/2017 08:53

Yeh not due until Friday. I just saw that a few people last night got their BFPs on the IC and they were only 9-10dpo. Although as you say, not over until Friday. Thanks Smile

Hippychic79 · 07/02/2017 08:58

You're welcome Moo :)

Rose - I can see your logic in testing early - slowly getting used to the fact that the witch may turn up is a positive in a negative situation, although you do end up googling stats on early false negatives :)) Is you DH still vaping? I think i will continue to vape until i get my BFP.

I didn't realise what IC meant either - so thank you ladies :))

Salem - Happy Birthday, can't remember which day you said it was, so sorry if i'm too early or too late with my well wishes :)

This thread is moving fast now, it is hard to keep up especially on your phone!

I wouldn't worry too much about the pea thing either ladies, maybe the pea addicts should cut down a little, although sadly i don't think they do pea patches or pea flavour vape :)) I personally think that we are all doing the very best we can and our BFP's are just round the corner I'm sure.

Sarahb - good to hear your periods are less painful, mine aren't too bad these days either thank god... its bad enough getting them when you want to be pregnant let alone having to feel like shit!

Reference the allergies ladies - I see a naturopath and she's really good at recommending supplements that are helping to correct my allergies. I can't digest dairy either (although i make an exception to Haagen Daaz) so I used goats milk, goats butter and goats cheese - its much easier to digest albeit a little pricey.

CD24 for me today of a 26-29 day cycle... I will not POAS, I will not POAS, I will not POAS.... fx i stay strong on this :) I do have FRER's at home which clearly state you can test 6 days early... tempting.... I also noticed on the instructions within the FRER packet that there's a money off voucher on your next pack... just thought I'd let you all know :)

Have a lovely day ladies

Morning ladies! AF due today, I've been charting BBT this month and its dropped slightly the last few days so I'm 99% sure that AF will be here any minute. I'm feeling a bit down and emotional like I always do on CD1, but I'm nowhere near as bad as I usually am, and I think I have this thread and all your positive vibes to thank for that Smile

This will be cycle 10 for us. We're taking prenatal vits, eating well, and staying active. We're using OPK's I'm charting BBT and CM and we've used conceive plus this month too. So I honestly don't know why it's taking so long Sad But I'm going to try and be as positive as I can this month ant try not to symptom check in the 2ww (yeah right Grin)

AJE84 · 07/02/2017 09:18

Sending love MammaBird - what can you do to pamper yourself & show yourself some love today? Warm bubble bath with a glass of wine? I love to give myself a mini facial or get my nails done - even just getting my eyebrows threaded can be a mood booster.

X

ArchiesMamaBird · 07/02/2017 09:32

AJE Thank you so much. DS is staying at my DM's tonight, so me and DH are having a mini date night and I think I'll end it with a relaxing bath and wine to cheer me up a bit (smile) xx

Moo31 · 07/02/2017 09:52

Hippy - admire your willpower re not poas especially with that little devil on your shoulder telling you to do it!

MamaBird - that sounds lovely for tonight :) be kind to yourself. Also I always feel better after an early cycle cry - just let it all out! I read somewhere that the average is 12 months so don't be hard on yourself. Stay positive :)

ArchiesMamaBird · 07/02/2017 10:13

Moo Thank you Smile Yes I also heard that it takes up to 12 months, and that even with perfectly timed DTD we all only have a 20% chance each month of conceiving (I didn't want to post this statistic because I feel it goes against the PMA of this thread Hmm) but it makes me feel a bit better knowing that it's completely normal to still be trying after 9 months.

Hippychic79 · 07/02/2017 10:20

FlowersWineCake Archie's - I echo what AJE says ... be kind to yourself, allow yourself to cry for a bit and get all the anger and sadness out ... we all do it, well I certainly do anyway - back in december i was convinced I was upduffed and when I poas and got a bfn i was an emotional wreck for 24 hours - oh was shell shocked and didn't know what to do bless him (I couldn't even tell him why as he doesn't know how hard I'm tTC) so had to blame it on hormones and the winter!
I've read it can take up to 12 months too on average - and I think from personal experience that you can't count every cycle since you consciously started tTC... the first few months I was completely naive to it all I'd been brainwashed to believe that if you have sex in fw you get pregnant ... what a fool I was ... I didn't even know how to use opks properly until cycle 4... and like one lady said on here (i think it was rose but I can't remember sorry) sometimes the opk says we are about to ovulate and it's a false surge and then we actually do ovualate... and we don't always continue to use opks once we've got that positive so how would we know if this happened to us? I also think (possibly controversially here) that dtd too much in fw and not enough the rest of the month can be problematic - I've rad that some men's sperm needs longer to regenerate than others so the quality over quantity principle could be at work... sorry I'm probably just waffling shit ...

Thank you Moo - but I have you ladies to thank for keeping me positive and for keeping my mind off poas

Xxx

Hippychic You're so right, for those first few months that we were ttc I wasn't even working out when my fw was. We were in the middle of renovating a house and DH was coming home late at night and exhausted, so we probably weren't even DTD that much, let alone around the fw. And we were really lucky with DS, he was a happy accident, so I didn't have any of this ttc malarkey to deal with. I honestly thought that we'd conceive the first month we tried again Grin

I went to the doctors last month (told a little white lie that we'd been trying for 12 months when really it was 9) and she didn't seem worried at all. She sent me for bloods to test my hormone levels (apparently it's quite common for your hormones to never go back to normal after having a baby), and I got the results yesterday which came back as normal. She also said that the fertility specialist won't see me until May, which will be a year since my periods became regular again after coming off the pill last Feb.
